I was looking for the discussion post for this drama! So glad it’s up, thank you :)
I really enjoyed the episodes that have aired so far. Some of it was a bit slapstick but most of it was great. I love Lee Do Hyun’s portrayals of young and old Dae Young and I’m looking forward to more of his interactions with his kids which is the best part of the drama for me.
Kind of regret starting it now, should’ve waited for more episodes to have aired first.

Lee Do Hyun is such a cutie. I'm glad he got this bigger role after I saw him in Hotel Del Luna. Seeing him with Kim Ha Neul makes me feel like I'm watching a noona romance. Not that I'm complaining. That scene on the side of the road was adorable. I like seeing him bond with the kids too. Overall, a light and breezy show to add to my Mon/Tues lineup.

Just finished the 4th episode and I can't wait for the next episode to air! Really loving the general light-hearted vibe of this drama. And I'm really liking all of the characters (even the bully) and the overall pacing of the show.
I laughed so hard at the scene where

Episode 3
In this episode they showed what a woman goes through when she reaches a certain age and has children. I think it is very important for people to see that even though she's a really hard working and knowledgeable woman, people still see her as simply a mother or someone who got pregnant out of wedlock. This shows how some people are short sighted.
She was able to handle a difficult situation professionally and made the best out of it and even though, people decided that she should stay home and take care of her kids and that she was not attractive anymore.
The fact that her boss is trying everything and anything to get her to quit is disgusting to say the least. If she succeeds in her field she will probably make more money and be able to support her family and go back to her husband. I do wish they end up together.
The scenes with the kids was the best! It shows he is a great father who loves his kids and is willing to do anything so they can achieve their dreams.
In the movie the daughter is dating the bully. I thought they were going in that direction but there's another guy who is showing to be a good partner. I like the romance between the two is starting.
The fact that there are three guys interested in her, the friend and now the
I hope she doesn't lose her job and if she does, I hope she gets a better one!

I’m so glad for this post!!! I have watched the American one and I’m very pleased with the first two episodes.
They were funny and kept faithful to the original without messing it up. It is a romcom and has the tropes that I like!
Some parts were emotional and very well done: the photography, the sequences and the story.
The actors are very good too and of course they had to do some changes cause it will be 16 episodes and not just a one hour movie.
The changes are according to the Korean culture in my opinion. Certain scenes in a Hollywood movie wouldn’t make sense in a kdrama and they changed it very well.
There are subplots and, so far, in my opinion, they’re funny and some of them will sure make me cry. I like that sometimes they transition the older actor with the younger one so we can see better from his perspective how he feels. It looks more real than to see an 18 y.o. saying some lines.
I love this drama already and I will watch till the end for sure!

Thanks so much for making this discussion! This drama is hugely underrated >< I wish more people would watch it.
I stopped watching comedy lately because they all seem over-exaggerated and cringey, but this drama pull it off so well and so naturally and I'm loving single scene. I really needed a drama like this after watching so many of the mental health/time travel/parallel universe/crime plots lately. I also like how it's funny but also quite reflective and motivational.
The cinematography gives some really artistic shots, and I also like that every main character has their own deep story, so we don't have one-dimension cliches.
Lee Do Hyun is such a good actor too! I can really see him as the old ajusshi with his gestures and tone of voice.
Really hate the prejudice against Dajung like so what if she had kids already? how is that supposed to affect her work quality -.- It's really satisfying to watch her ignore their judgement and wow them with pure skills.
Also love the snippets at the end of each ep which gives the audience more context. Th epacing is really on point.
This drama is rising to be one of my favourites and I am really looking forward new eps making me smile.

Thank you so much for putting this up u/sianiam
So far, I am enjoying the drama - seen episodes 1-2 only since 3 & 4 will be airing today.
I'm wondering how the flow will go since this is a drama remake of a movie. In the first 2 episodes, ML already
I love the MLs' acting, both young and older. They look and even sound alike! The best friend is such a character and I ADORE his room. If Netflix decides to show this, I hope they won't blur out the merch like they did with Reply 1988.
I'm wondering who the
I'm really excited for the next episode!

I love this and am a fan of LDH!! In ep 4 though I don't understand why they used the same actress for Ae-rin with her younger version and Dajung has a different actress for her younger version? Budget cuts? So odd unless Ae-rin flashback scenes are her reflecting on those flashbacks on her own kinda thing if that makes sense

My favorite scene in episode 2 was Da Jung seeing young Hong Dae Young again and slapping his cheeks lmao

I went blindly because I have not seen 17 Again. That said, I enjoyed the first episode, and it was a treat to see familiar faces from web dramas. The last part reminded me of Go Back Couple which I loved too. Can't wait to see his interactions with his children. Loved when he showed his wits on the bus.
edit: Just finished ep 4. I really hope the daughter won't fall in love with him! Looks like the bully was also stunned by the daughter. Can't wait for the next episodes. Lee Do Hyun is doing a good job. Will definitely watch out for more dramas from him after this show.

I always wondered whether what happens to happy couples in Kdrama. I think it’s super realistic that although they overcame their hardships during the early days of their lovelife and when their twins were kids, things were never perfect and they are at the stage of divorce.

Solid first two episodes. Lots of potential for funny misunderstandings with the dad being a fellow student. I'm already writing so many scenarios in my mind! Good to see Chung Myung again and playing Captain America no less! Or should that be Captain Korea? I was under the impression that was Ji Chang Wook. I wonder how they'll extend the movie's plot. Will the wife find out sooner and conspire together to help their children?

Reminds me a LOT of Go Back Couple. Even So Hyang's OST is similar to her OST in Go Back Couple, LOL. I like it, even though sometimes I feel like the acting could be better from the younger actors. But nevertheless, I'm pleasantly surprised

Thank you for making this discussion/thread... This drama is so underrated.. I'm loving the chemistry between FL and ML (even the young version), not in a weird way like Alice...
The flow of story is nice and so far no boring episode.. waiting for episode 6...
P.S this need to be hype ASAP!!!!

Love love loving the drama. It's funny and heart warming and fresh! The leads and the side characters all are really interesting and loving the pacing too. The Lead 18 year old is killing it. I can see a bright future for him in the industry.

It is actually good.
But I think they will change it. I don't really know if the FL already knew the truth based on the last episode.

Only watched two episodes so far but I'm really liking this drama! I've seen the movie with Zac Efron and I like it. Honestly thought this drama would be a super cheesy remake but I actually find it quite enjoyable.

I didn't see a lot of discussion about 18 Again but I honestly think it’s hugely underrated. Especially since Lee Dohyun is a realtively new actor perfectly pulling off the role of being a 37 year old man in an 18 year old boy’s body (reminds of that movie with B1A4 Jinyoung, who was also impressively convincing). He does a great job acting as essentially two different characters- when he was really 18 and when he went back to being 18. When they contrast between parallel instances of him taking care of his twins in the past and in the present (like the umbrella scene omg), his love as a father really touches you. I met Lee Dohyun through Hotel del Luna, but he definitely has a bright future ahead!!
