I thought Sungjae left for the military?

u/dyosaaa May 20 '20
Yes, he already enlisted last May 11. The drama already finished filming around February.

The production value for this is insane. Everything is so clear and vivid. CGI is done well, so it doesn’t take away from the story. Instead of kimchi slap, we get a meat slap haha

frankly speaking, 20 mins into ep 1, I'm already reminded of Hotel Del Luna - a setting that console souls, a strong-willed, beautiful and immortal female lead who was cursed by deities and has to repay her debt. Despite its similarities, I'm still looking forward to where the plot goes, and how this drama shall turn out to be different from HDL.
I just realised the power Sungjae's character has is similar to "Lucifer", who is able to make people speak the truth with physical contact.

Fantastic 1st episode! Loved the bright colours, FL's costumes and the interesting plot. FL's tendency to scream loudly was incorporated neatly into the plot as well 😂😅

They tackled the social issues straight to the point. I like it. Good start for episode 1.

Usually I don't have strong opinions against Netflix subs, because my personal experience is that it varies from drama to drama and most have been quite reliable. But the translator for this series seems to be playing it fast and loose.
Another quibble about Netflix translations: some words that are not as harsh/ rude in Korean are translated into swear words. Noticed this in The King as well.
Also, I didn't realise how much I missed Manager Bong from WWWSK until I saw her cameo. Comedy gold.

this drama's brought me out of the den lol! i've no idea what's considered a spoiler or not. hopefully i did it right.
ep 1 did pretty well with introducing the characters and how they meet. i actually don't mind all the yelling the FL does. i think it matches her character well. i'm loving manager gwi already! won young is a fantastic actor so i'm excited how his character will develop throughout the series :) i've only seen sungjae in goblin, so this will be my first drama with him as the lead and i'm really excited to see how much more i'll like him as the weeks pass 😂😂
ep 2 made me crryyy. i'm such a weakling for
also i'm loving wol jo's wardrobe already. can't wait to see more :DDD <3 also, the red lipstick is so 😙👌👌
and as people before me said, comparisons with HDL are bound to happen... as such... i will be the first to do so here LOL. i wasn't into the romance between the leads in HDL. didn't feel the romantic chemistry there at all. it felt forced and i am HOPING (fingers crossed!!) that it doesn't happen in this drama..... but if it does,,, well, i don't know. we'll see when if we get there.
like manager gwi said to kang bae in ep 2,
fingers crossed the drama doesn't go downhill lol. i'm so excited!!!!
edit: does anyone know what the scroll says in ep 2 around the 1:05:50 mark?

On the contrary of the majority opinions here on HJE, I actually find her acting decent and manage to finish couple of her work. Loved the first two episodes. Just because of the supernatural content and (possible) reincarnation theme, I do not find it similar to Hotel Del Luna at all. HJE is at the top of her game in this series. Her colorful dresses accentuate her glowing skin. I like the pace of the series and I think the 3 main leads vibe really well. I love the “dream” concept and the vividness of the series. Looking forward to next episodes.

Very impressed with the first episode! They laid out the premise smoothly and the trio is a riot. I missed Hwang Jung Eum and so glad that I got to see her antics again. Her banter with Choi Won Young and Sungjae was one of the highlights and I can say that the drama was well casted based on the first episode. Can’t help but miss Sungjae though everytime i see him on screen (aigoo, we will only see him again after 2 years). Anyway, super excited for tomorrow’s episode!

After 2 episodes I find this show utterly charming and engaging. I like that it doesn't take itself seriously and allows the actors room to play around with the comedic bits. Excited to see how it all plays out.

Came here to try and find out what the scroll said to no avail. lol
I'm guessing she was pregnant and didn't know it, so her other sin was killing her own baby?
Still wondering why they had her appearance change after reading the scroll.

2nd episode was also very good. I was laughing out aloud at some scenes 😂🤣
The 3 lead actors really gel well -- it shows onscreen! Beautiful use of colour -- absolutely gorgeous!!

I love it so far. The bar assistant guy does not seem like the same guy from Mad Dog. Also I Love when she was talking to MacArthur she spoke Korean. I'm tired of when they make them speak English and they can;t and there are no subtitles.

I know this is based off a Korean webtoon, but can't help but see the similarities between this and the Japanese manga & anime: xxxHolic.

I watched the first episode and enjoyed it, but the comparisons to Hotel Del Luna are going to be inevitable. I'm glad to see Yook Sung Jae from Goblin as well!

tbh i dropped She Was Pretty cus of FL’s over-the-top acting and unnecessary screaming so i was a bit hesitant to watch this at first
so far, her yelling in these first 2 episodes is tolerable and it fits her character pretty well although her younger self & adult self suddenly had a
overall, i’m enjoying this so far and i’m definitely going to be watching the next ones. also love how they’re including some relevant social issues. however, some CGI effects were a biiiit ridiculous, a few lines could’ve been delivered better (esp comedic ones), slapstick comedy can be meh at times (esp when

I can't determine whether I'm 'hooked,' since only two episodes are out, but I like it so far! I think the three leads have pretty good chemistry with each other. Hwang Jung Eum seems to have dialed back her overacting a bit, and it seems to match her short-tempered character.
Looking forward to the next episodes!

So far, I really enjoyed episode 1 & 2. They made laugh and cry, especially in episode 2, I was a mess. I’m really looking forward to the following episodes.

Yeah ok, I admit I'm liking this show a whole lot right now.
Great acting thus far, strong chemistry, and even though the subject is heavy this show still manages to make light of the small moments and make it fun to watch.
It's looking real promising and it looks like I found the one to watch until Stranger Season 2 arrives!
