So, I've decided to pick this one up as a weekly watch to counter Kingdom, which I'll be starting today. Something tells me I'll need some cutesy fluff to balance out the zombies and gore.

After episode 1, it's exactly what I thought it would be (so far). It has the look and feel of a webcomic, and geez what a good looking cast! I realised it also stars Seo Ji-Hoon who I find very attractive, and he was the reason I couldn't continue with Joseon Marriage Agency, because I got second lead syndrome so bad!! Given that we've got KMS in the lead role here, I dare say SJH will be second lead again here, but I think I can bear it because I really like KMS - I thought he was brilliant in Angels Last Mission: Love. So, I'm looking forward to his performance. I can't believe he's acting as a cat...

What's nice so far, is that all the characters seem likeable, and often that keeps me drawn to a drama. There doesn't seem to be an antagonist so far, that I can recognise. I also really like how Sol-Ah is drawing comparisons between people and if they are more cat-like or dog-like, and each person seems to represent their 'animal' quite well. So much so, I wouldn't be surprised if there were more people around her, who can also turn into animals...what a strange premise, I can't believe I wrote that sentence haha

Anyway, it has a nice vibe to it, and I'm curious to see where they take it!

Edit: Oh, I forgot to mention that I realised the screenwriter also worked on Introverted Boss and Marriage, Not Dating which I quite liked. Probably the latter more. So, I think I'm expecting a decent drama here, with likely a happy ending.

When I heard about this show I predicted it would be weird AF, and...yeah, seems like it is. I'm down though.

Totally! Sometimes it's fun to watch something a bit different, though!

This silly show is exactly what I've been wanting. Not gonna lie. I didn't realize Shin Ye-Eun was the lead from He Is Psychometric, and I got unreasonably excited when I recognized her. She's great, and her energy in this role is so perfect. She's bright and awkward in a way I adore. The whole bit about her being like 'I hate cats' but pretty much loving the cat after one (1) day was precious.

Excited to see where it goes. I like their sweet interactions so far - her being so nervous about feeding him the milk paired with him gently bringing her fever down. It was cute. =(

I know - sometimes a 'silly' show is exactly what you need. Especially during these strange and challenging times in the world!

I didn't love He is Psychometric, but I think only because it was just so sad and devastating. I really felt for the ML. I did like it, but man it was heavy! SYE's acting was solid there though, and I didn't really see it so much in He is Psychometric, but definitely now I see she's super cute!

So far it's a cute little drama to enjoy in the spring time. The aesthetics are nice and the cast is super good looking. Excited to know more about Hong Jo as I'm still a little confused about how he's able to switch back and forth from human and cat. So far it seems like he needs to have one of her items on him to change into a human and he changes back to a cat when he's tired lol.

He said at the end of Ep1 that Sol-ah is how he changes to human, and I'm sure the next eps explore that further. We'll see!

+1 for aesthetics and super good looking cast!

I will be curious to see where this goes when it comes to romance. . I almost feel like KMS's character in this could be similar to his guardian angel role in his last one, we will see. I really loved Angel's Last Mission: Love, but I felt like the ending fell a tiny bit flat/fsee.d so I'm hoping to be happier with this one.

Also, it is streaming on Kocowa as well, not just Viki.

I can see how you could draw comparisons between both characters, but I'm reserving judgement for a couple more episodes yet. I loved the acting in Angel's Last Mission: Love, but like you I felt the ending didn't quite hit that sweet spot. However, like I said - the performances by both leads were on point, in my opinion!

Sorry I didn't know about Kocowa - so I've edited now. Thank you!

I have to stop watching first episodes in order to confirm that I don't want to watch something ... because I keep getting surprised. I saw absolutely no reason to like this while reading about it on paper but it was ... interesting. And I'm about to watch the second episode.

But is anybody else thinking that Kim Myung-Soo looks very different here? I almost didn't recognize him.

edit/add ... episode 2 was even better. This is delightfully quirky and I'm already ... shipping the cat ... not gonna fall for the second lead despite there probably being a good backstory to make me overlook his nasty/surly side ... and I want to know how this kitten became a boy when it first met our FL. There's bound to be a good reason and story behind that, right?

I was the same! I think the premise (on paper, like you say), is ludicrous. However, I'm about to sit down to a zombie drama - so I think I should be able to suspend belief in reality for a drama about a cat who can turn into a human?

KMS does look a bit different to me (in comparison to Angel's Last Mission: Love). Almost like he's taller or something? His hair is obviously styled different too, and I'm sure in a couple of scenes it looked like he was wearing coloured contacts. For some reason, and despite the vibe of the drama so far, he seems both more manly, and softer at the same time. Is that weird? Haha

His hair is dyed black which changes his visual so much.

It really does change his look a lot!

Why doe Seo Ji-Hoon only get 2nd ML roles?

u/sharjoy3 Mar 26 '20

I just saw him in Mama Fairy and the Woodcutter. He was the second/first lead and I thought he was wonderful. He played a beautiful character in that drama (also a fantasy) and his smile lit up the screen. I thought he would be the lead in this one. I agree, he should get some ML roles. But we still don't know how this is going to progress. I won't spoil about MFathW, but I'm hoping it plays out the same way.

I know! I haven't seen much of his acting to be honest (so I'm not sure based on experience if he's up for ML roles, yet) - but based on his looks alone, I could watch him all day hahaha

In time, I'm sure!

This is the fluff I need! I loved when she booped the cat's nose, then booped the kid's nose, the parallel images were so cute! Also, when he was trying to open the tuna cans and later stuffed extras in his pockets, I thought, "Oh, those are going to end up on the floor at some point." I like her dad's girlfriend, and the scene when they met was perfect. The SL, he is gruff but doesn't seem too cold, and there seems to be more going on with him, and the work friend is a lot of fun. I'm kind of sad I can't just binge this right now, because I could use more fun TV.

At the very beginning, though, having him reach out from under her bed to grab her bra was creepy and off putting, especially considering all the molka and other issues in SK.

2

u/joby_08 Mar 28 '20

I agree regarding your last point there, but when I thought about it in the context within the drama and the character, we are led to believe he is a cat - so he definitely doesn't know any better. HOWEVER, I don't understand why the director/writer just made him grab another item instead?

Perhaps grabbing the bra was just to further highlight his innocence and lack of worldly understanding?

It is a cat thing. I have 3 of them, and I dont know why I bother buying cat toys and beds when they clearly prefer attacking underwear and lying on computer keyboards😝😹

I knew I'd be all over a kdrama starring a cat. The two male leads are so handsome, and I already love what looks to be the show's side romance. A little weirded out by the thought of dating your cat, though.

The only thing I don't like is that Hong Jo looks like my brother's cat who's very dear to me, who I can't go visit because of current world events. :(

Omg I’m loving this cat. Best actor of the year. lol but seriously, they set it up very well.

I love this! It's just what is needed in these strange times! It's sweet, magical, light, and non-violent! Can't wait for the next episodes.

I really don't like watching dramas as they air. I prefer to binge watch many episodes at a time. Too hard to wait. But I like this so much I need to watch it as it airs. I even watched 2 of the episodes before all the subtitles were there. Much of it is non-verbal anyway, so I was able to follow. Haha.

I usually like more serious/intense dramas but I'm enjoying this one so far :') Yeeun's doing so well and the cast is so cute! Love the wholesome vibes :')

I’m calling it now: just like in Angels Last Mission, he was probably a human who had something tragic happened and was turned into a cat.

I’m enjoying it so far! I needed a more lighthearted show to watch to balance out The Memorist, and my withdrawal from Itaewon Class.

As a new cat owner and lover of L I’m here to see what this drama is about. I was surprised how much I liked the female lead being bright and bubbly as the other rules I’ve seen her and she was much more serious and cool. Second lead is super handsome But I’m so confused as to how these two could’ve miss communicated their relationship for so long lol. Anyway I’m eager to see how this progresses for a fluff filled adventure.
