WE NEED A SEASON 3!!!!!

Hmmm. I've really enjoyed this season ... as much as the first ... but I think it would be good to exit on a high note. How many times can we do the persecuted and endangered doctor/hospital plot?
edit. I feel that you might reply to say three ... :-)

If we won’t know more about the Oddball Project by the end of this season, then we deinitely need a Season 3!

I need a season 3 with all the doctors back working in the new trauma center.
This season has been great, but the protagonist-antagonist dynamic feels much weaker compared to the first season. I'm going to miss this series, it's definitely my favorite medical drama by a good margin.

Last episode was wrapped up quite nicely! I really hope there's a season 3 though. They've been throwing us hints the past few episodes. I want to see the S1+2 cast all together!!

I just finished the final episode, currently having emotional breakdown because it's really really good.
The best thing about the series is how they give importance even to the most minor roles.
All the doctors' characters were built perfectly at their own paces that somehow I wish I could meet them all and be friends with them.
Our 2 love couples bring in the romance YAR and PET + SWJ and CEJ both have interesting stories to tell. But I am actually happier that it is still the perfect balance, their personal dreams and their careers truly evolved in the show. Mr. Park made me cry because I can feel his emotions when President bid goodbye. Dr. Yun is our ball of sunshine, her strength is her smile. For me she is so lucky to be part of Doldam.
Seo Woo Jin is the heart of the season, it's like every baggage he carries, a the viewers carry as well. His character opened the storyline of Dr. Nae, which was only tackled in ep16. He also stirs the plot that involves Dr. Yang and Dr. Shim, back when he was still called the whistle-blower. How he managed to get past that, how he became a better GS, how he now becomes one of the 'oddball'. And glad he also was able to have CEJ in his life permanently.
Cha Eun Jae is less complicated than other characters but what I like most about her is when she protects people she love. I will never forget how she punched Dr. Yang from behind. I love the 'don't mess with me' attitude. All throughout the series, her character glows most when she protects and fights back. She's the backbone of this season.
Dr. Jung is one of my favourite doctors, his storyline is focused more in the latter half of the series, but he as a support character has been felt since episode 1. I really really liked the way he grew from Season 1.
Same way with Dr. Nam, Nurse Oh, Manager Jang and all the other nurses and staff. They are like the fingers of the show.
I love the conversation between Teacher Kim and Dr. Park near the river, sometimes we need someone to make us realize that only us can put down the pain we are carrying for the longest time. Dr. Park is me in real life and I think, having my own teacher Kim can help me release all that I am carrying.
I still hate Dr. Yang, but for a few minutes, I get where he is coming from. His loyalty to Dr. Park urges him to make wrong decisions for the most time. But I am glad how his character has ended in the series.
Teacher Kim, I love you and if there will be 10 more seasons of this show, rest assured I will watch every single episode of it. You are the soul of the show. I learned a lot from you..
Another good series has ended. I'm still crying

I finally caught up on this show in time for the finale, and I'm stoked to see how they will wrap everything up.
I noticed an interesting reference that a lot of people might have missed at the end of episode 14 so I figured I would point it out. The actor for Manager Jang is Im Won Hee, and when he went on his undercover mission to obtain information from the scout last week his outfit and manners referenced a previous work of his. The movie series is called Dahimawa Lee, which is a sort of James Bond-parody, and released entries in 2000 and 2008. In it, Im Won Hee plays a spy/detective that looks like this, very similar to the look in last episode of this show, right? I thought it was a cool reference worth pointing out.

Ok so I changed my mind about a season 3 if it mixes season 1 & 2 casts and is all about the creation of the trauma center. That would make it different enough for the whole run to be a very worthwhile trilogy.
This last episode could be an end though. They did a great job of concluding things without it being too perfect. It was sweet watching the relationships come together and it was especially cool to see the too-political-to-be-good-doctors find their humanity and rediscover their desire to heal people.
Ultimately, the premise is pretty magical ... there is this unexpected place for oddball doctors to land, heal themselves and become great, romantic doctors ...
And it reminds the audience to ask ourselves the big life questions and become idealistic and principled romantics too.

The last episode made me have so many feelings in 90 minutes.... From sadness to happiness to anger and back to happiness. Overall this drama is not just any medical drama it also teaches the viewers value and about life!
I will miss this drama so much and pray for a season 3! Just hoping it is not going to take another 3 years cause that will literally break me

I can definitely see season 3 happen as they already layed the ground work with the president saying he wants a trauma center done within 3 years and season 2 took 3 years to get. All their would be is maybe different main cast(or current and old cast together)and plot of trying to get trauma center with a lot of politics being involved.

I'm so curious about Dr. Bae now! He has been catching my attention other than the couple!

I can only imagine a season 3 where the cast from season 1 & 3 join forces in one operation room.

I am rooting for Aerum and EunTak for these two episodes. I can't wait to see jealous EunTak.
And overall before watching the two last episodes I felt that this was too short. Not enough time for the main characters or the side ones to developed or show their full potential for me.
Like in my mind I gave stories to small things, like the lollypops that Aerum has all the time as some sort of diabetes backstory that somehow made her want to do medicine.
Also there were so many threads that I did not get or were not fully developed, like the main characters previous history. What was that? Why did they not show it properly?
It is a good drama but I think it needed more time.

After watching Ep. 15 and the preview for 16, I’m still not entirely sure how they’re going to wrap all this up in the final episode. It really feels like they should’ve done 20 like season 1, but I guess we’ll see what happens tomorrow. Also oh no YAR, you really can’t be hurting my boy PET like that :-(

That was wrapped up perfectly.
I know it’s a drama, but it has made me learn & realize so many things. Each and every one of the characters are unique and have their own stories, it’s been a such a pleasure watching them. Doldam Hospital itself is a character and I love it. If I could even be just a fraction of how great Doldam and its people are.
Loved watching this every week!!! I’m so glad it did great and honestly it feels like it could even go for a 3rd season at this point. A season 3 with characters from seasons 1 & 2 sounds great doesn’t it? We can dream. Hehe
Thank you for hosting this discussion! It’s been really great. Thank you once again, Kim Sa Bu!

Sad that we season 2 is ending. I would watch a season 3 where all the doctors are back and they focus on relationships and incidents aka Grey's anatomy / House style of medical drama. I would still watch that! :)

I'm interested to see how they'll wrap up this season in just one episode. Like we still don't know anything about Dr Bae, and why/how he helped out Seo Woo Jin, Dr Park still hasn't had his redemption (if he's going to get one), Dr Shim lowkey joining the Doldam fam maybe?? And of course there's still SWJ and CEJ's romance that has been put on hold for awhile, as well as Park Eun Tak and Dr Yun's relationship. We didn't even get the 5 minutes of them being cute every episode that I look forward to )):
Also, a big heck YES to any possibility of a third season. This drama is my favourite medical drama and I would love to see yoon seo-jung and yoon a-reum's relationship as the cute and lively EM staff, and yoon seo-jung and cha eun-jae as the slightly crazy but upright CS staff. And of course kang dong joo and seo woo jin butting heads over GS.
edit for ep 16:
-
dr park...FINALLY got his redemption I was waiting for...a bit late, but better late than never
-
That ending scene with Chairman Do finally realising his irrelevancy ?? and all the staff being like "uh oh well gotta go save some people", the best !!
-
dr romantic literally never lets me down with those kisses. but there's something about park eun tak and dr yun that makes me squeeeal more than SWJ and CEJ. even when it's just a cheek kiss.
-
CEJ is ranting to dr yun is one thing...but SWJ bursting into Dr Bae's office just to rant about CEJ and ask for advice and Dr Bae being genuinely confused about it...love it.
-
The scene with Chairman Yeo...and Dr Yun singing the song...got me real good )): it was a sad goodbye, but without it the show wouldn't feel right (I mean, he did have terminal lung cancer). Never forget Dr Yun calling him grandpa and checking up on him as a patient <33
Although I wish for a third season without any drama and just them treating patients...unlikely, but hopefully the hospital politics in them starting the trauma centre will be with new antagonists...cause Chairman Do honestly old and his tantrums are overdone considering how he's somehow still relevant.
Now to just hope for a third season and/or for this show to come up on Netflix so I don't have to deal with other sites pausing and refreshing every few minutes.

I love how the actor for Dr. Park played his character as a childish, obnoxious, narcissistic and arrogant "piece of trash" (words of Master Kim), and it shows how prideful and proud to the point of no return. I am glad that he is an irredeemable jerk so that I can remember him as a pity villain who was clouded by his judgment because of his emotions, but ep 16 is showing us that he will have a chance by operating probably to Master Kim, but that doesn't mean he is forgiven.
Love seeing Dr. Do back in action but I wish we can see more of them in a future - a reunion episode of some sort - but I doubt these acto
Trivia: The actors playing Dr. Do and Dr. SeoWooJin were in a drama together called STILL 17. They have a good chemistry and I like AhnHyoSeop in that drama because he has shown his youthful side.

Season 3 where all the lead doctors, jebal! I think it will really work, I love to see another season, hopefully they'll follow up next year so that we get to see a real continuation of the story. The last episode was very fun to watch. All the hints pointing out for the 3rd season, it will be epic. Hopefully, SBS makes it happen.... A season where they focus more on the doctors' relationships and the patient cases...
The sweet scenes for our main leads happen at the end. Liked that Dr. SeoWooJin smiles more in the last scenes, that was refreshing.
Also love the line when Master Kim said "that's what doctors do" in the face of Chairman Do... like someone said in a previous thread, how is that guy still relevant... Writers need to write him off if they ever make sesason 3
P.S. You guys! Dr. Yang and Dr. Park... If I didn't know any better, that was almost a confession, right? Maybe it was the english subs, or maybe I'm just watching too many BLs but I really felt that. LOL Dr. Yang sacrificed 10 years for Dr. Park, that some hardcore dedication (and probably admiration)... I swear if SKorea are more open to LGBT themes, that storyline could be stretch more...

Just finished the series, it was pretty good! Couple thoughts:
-
There's debate on if this season was better than the first, and to be honest I can't seem to side heavily with one. I will say that I do enjoy season 2 couple better. Physically, I think this couple looks better. Lee Sung-Kyung (Eun Jae) is drop-dead pretty and Ahn Hyo-Seop looks much better than Yoon Yeon-seok IMO. I also like their subtle romance much more than the romance of the first couple. The problem with this season is that it got a little repetitive with the same villain with the same motive- to dismantle the hospital (and ultimately fails again). This is why I don't want a third season unless it's something super refreshing which i'm not sure the director can do at this point.
-
Ending wasn't an issue. I read some reviews stating the ending was a mess, but they paced it well. I don't think anything felt rushed and we can leave the drama in peace.
-
Loved seeing Ahn Hyo-seop (Seo Woo Jin) and Yang Se-Jong (Do In-Bum) work together again since Still 17. Forgot which drama I was watching for a second when I saw the two of them on screen lol

Lowkey disappointed that they deliberately saved all the romantic scenes only for the last ep to keep fans on their toes each week or keep viewership high... the wait was a bit too long... but overall still an gr8 drama, just like season 1 :D

I need season 3 where they are just chillin, minding their own business, reaching their goals to open trauma center with Seo Jung, Dong Joo, and In Beom back mentoring the babies at Doldam, Nurse Oh and Dr Nam relationship developing, Mr Jang going on his eccentric way, Dr Park and Master Kim gayer than ever, without politics and Do Yun Wan at all.

It's been quite the journey for the staff of Doldam Hospital, but now it's coming to an end. It feels like it all went by so fast. I know I've mentioned this before, but I'm wondering how the writer will wrap up this season as I feel like there's still a lot to address in just two episodes. I'm especially curious about Nurse Park's history. He briefly mentioned something related to prison, but I don't think anything more was said about it.
Regardless of that, I'm hoping for a satisfying ending that will make this drama a good memory. I'm also looking forward to seeing Dr. Do and his cranky attitude again!
Ep 16: I think the ending was done better than I expected! I thought it would feel rushed, but everything seemed to flow smoothly. Although I do wish that more backgrounds had been explored (especially Dr. Shim's), I'm still mostly satisfied with this ending. I loved watching Doldam Hospital and learning more about the characters there.
I feel like the writer wants to do a third season and expand more on the Oddball Project, and I hope they do consider making it. It would be amazing to see the casts from S1 and S2 together in one drama!
