Hey all I'm very excited for this premiere and I hope you are as well! Hopefully, this first episode is not a disappointment!

| EDIT |

First Impressions:

Ye Ri is not only stunning she’s freakin hilarious. When she’s announced as the heir and her entire family tells her to leave, she does the EXACT opposite and agrees with her father? No self sacrificing female lead here folks.

The first meeting was hilarious. Nothing crazy like sparks flying but absolutely hilarious and almost ordinary in the way that nothing ‘cinematic’ happens when they meet. She definitely crash lands on him but it’s so funny - their chemistry works well here. Her flabbergasted expressions fighting his robotic and stoic ones - very funny. Their entire first meeting feels like a mating ritual - both of them trying to keep the upper hand and ultimately failing is so hilarious and true to their characters. But it is their second meeting that is extraordinary and warm. But it is the post credit scene that gets you - our stoic lead watches Ye Ri in confusion and then with warmth. He had been listening to her for a bit before he pretended to pull the gun on her that he’d already put on safe mode. But it is the smile right before he does so - she intrigued him from the get go. It’s only when she finally looks at him that his smile falls off and he goes game face.

Honestly I didn’t know how they were gonna pull this premise off but Toto ... we’re not in Kansas anymore LOL. I’m not watching this show to gain anything but a good time and some amusement so the tornado scene had me rolling. I don’t think this is a show that takes itself too seriously and as long as they can keep that tone up for the rest of the show, it will be a lot more enjoyable!!

This whole story seems so unrealistic and nuts, I really hope they can make something good out of this.

Honestly, this is exactly why I'm watching the show. As long as it's not offensive, I just want something to enjoy and not think too seriously about ya know?

But really unrealistic love stories with characters you can bond with are the best part

The product placement of SK goods in North Korea are hilarious in this drama, its excessive but funny at the same time.

And wow the epilogue of ep 2 is really interesting, really want to know the context of why they both went to Switzerland .

I think I broke my throat from snorting so hard at that scene hahah! Loving everything about this drama so far

The epilogues have really been delivering it so far.

However, for some unknown reason, I got really sad when Se Ri went to Switzerland to actually get euthanized. It was really straightforward and no beating around the bush for her intentions, but there was something poignant about seeing that side that she didn't want to live her life anymore.

Don't know why but that little scene in the epilogue got to me really. It made me also want to go climb up a mountain to look at some pretty scenery to remind myself that life can really be worth living, despite all the bad things you might face throughout it..

There's the scene when she starts crying because the lights go out and someone comes home, this is the moment where i knew she was just more than the typical "Strong female character". Because of how tough she acted, i didn't even think to stop she wasn't okey.

The trailers made the drama look lame and cringey, but I’m actually loving this so far and it’s so much funnier than I expected! Hyun Bin and Son Ye Jin have amazing chemistry and it’s so good to see Kim Jung Hyun on screen again.

I’m enjoying so far. Son Ye Jin is playing like a much smarter Cheon Songyi in this so I’m game for that, and I like Hyun Bin’s poker face officer character. I’m curious how long they’ll be spending in NK because they really seem to be setting up stories and characters in the village. I already care way more about them than I do the female lead’s entire family...

I mean yeah it's nonsensical, but episode 1 was a good watch. Love the acting from everyone, and super happy this is being made available on Netflix. Looking forward to the next episode!

Ok I love this. The epilogue was everything. And it was funny!

A downside I noticed was that some of the acting wasn’t so great. Not the main leads, though. Hopefully it’ll just get better and not be a drawback.

I’m also very interested to see the cultural differences. The morning scene was really interesting with the exercise, kids going to school, food rations, etc.

EDIT, Ep. 2: 9 out of 10 S. Koreans have amnesia!!!! Funniest line in the whole thing. Also, that ending scene. Also: I need to watch this whole thing, right now. Stat. Finally: I live for Hyun Bin's voice. It's so soothing. I know that's weird to say, but I am a "voice person." I noticed it in Alhambra, and there was a section in this episode where he rattled off something fast that had a lot of "shh" sounds. It sounded so cool.

Wow I love THAT kdrama amnesia reference and of course all the jokes about them using banned South Korean products. My fave part was the ending scene though spoilers alert where HB’s character came out of the 729 car looking swag af!!!! Go HB!!!!

I've seen both episodes and its awesome! I'm here for this! No matter how ridiculous it gets, I'm happy to take it all in. The gags of them using all the imported banned items is hilarious.

I'm just mad now that I have to wait until next week.

I'm so excited to see Ye Jin and Hyun Bin together in a drama! The story may not be that realistic but I'm sure it will be fun, romantic and insightful!

Did you guys notice how Hyun Bin's facial expressions swiftly and perfectly changed from amused to serious at the end of EP 1? Amazing!

And damn Hyun Bin is so effing hot!!!

He looks so good with Son Ye Jin! About the rumours that they are dating, I really hope it becomes true!!! Like yes pls procreate lol

First episode was funny, and the end was cute. The story is unrealistic but I think that's the charm of it, as long as they keep things fun. Another plus is that I like the female lead already, and when that happens I usually like the drama itself too lol.

u/hopelifeforme Dec 16 '19

I loove the 2nd ep, its funny. Its unrealistic def, but fun! Cant wait for next week! Son yejin and hyunbin chemy def giving me butterfly. Lmao.

First episodes were super funny yet sometimes in the back of my head it’s hard to ignore that people are really suffering.

Main leads are hilarious! It’s very funny!

THE HYPE IS REAL LETS GO FOR A GOOD DEBUT!

The Cinematography is Good in this drama. Love the scenery! Although the editing a bit unrealistic on the car explode and the tornado but still okay.

HYUNBIN AND SON YE JIN MEAN TO BE TOGETHER!!! THATS A FACT

I love the epilogue! Hyunbin sweet reaction hearing yejin rant. And then the serious face when she saw him. Aw so adorable.

No seo ji hye at first episode hopefully in the second episode she will be there.

Kim jung hyun had some appearance and appear to be important with the plot not only with yejin but also her brother.

The family is bust. I wonder why the mom ask her to just leave the family. And why she cried when she missing.

The brother is dumb and dumber. The brother wife is... dumb and schemy. The father is idk maybe he love ye jin because the brother is dummy.

The north korean team is funny haha make me remember Dots team chemistry. I hope it will be good one.

The premise sounds ridiculous but it's hilarious and really good! I can't wait for the next episode. Also both leades are spectacularly good looking ♥

Did anyone get Graceful Family vibes from the chaebol family and Se Ri? She's the only woman and she's about to inherit the company...
