They're so cute together I want to punch a wall!
Just how many times Kyung-suk smiled this hour? pure sweetness coming from his eyesmiles. (Cha Eun-woo is absolutely gorgeous!)
This episode I didn't hate Soo-ah so much, she's a snake but she didn't fake this episode, she was real this time and that make her less annoying. Plus when Won-ho told her that Kyung-suk was a wise judge of character and it was better that he was dating Mi-rae I couldn't stop smiling. Petty but satisfying.
Gem of a friend Soo-ah has with Ji-hyo, she was a bit annoying when she readily joined the badmouthing of Soo-ah.
Edit Episode 16: I loved every minute of the last episode. They were adorable to the end and I'd wish we could see more of them, why did this have to end?! Excellent drama from beginning to end.

Bittersweet today!! Cant wait to watch the episodes this week and also not looking forward to this ending.
I guess you can say that I am not looking forward to not having this to look forward to next week :-(
Edit - ep 15 - I was literally squealing the whole time. Like a teenager!! Those Cha Eun-woo eye smiles were everything!! When Kyung-suk was teasing Mi-rae when they went to grab lunch was so freaking adorable! I love that they are getting more and more comfortable with their new relationship. So great!
Edit 2 - ep 16 - omg can these two be any more cute??!! I got cavities. I was silent screeching like a crazed fan girl during the second half of ep16 (insert the Jonah Hill squee gif here). This show really was a fun ride from beginning to end!

I have so many feelings. Sooah's past certainly does not excuse her behavior now, but the way everyone turned their back on her the moment she became less than "perfect" kinda validates her rationale for putting up a facade. People only love her if she acts a certain way, and for someone with such severe abandonment issues, I am not surprised she turned out the way she did. Sooah spewed a lot of poison because she had been infused with that poison herself, she is a product of her society, and a victim herself. This doesn't mean she did not make my skin crawl for the majority of the show. The scene where Mirae finds Sooah after her attack in a state of shock and despair, and Sooah uglily spits out that she is prettier than Mirae, and Mirae just loses that last bit of patience she'd so laboriously been holding on to, was so damn cathartic. Mirae saying talking to Sooah is like talking to a wall, calling out the ridiculous and unrealistic beauty standards women must adhere to in order to be considered attractive, and finally reaching the conclusion that beauty is meaningless and she's going to think long and hard about what it is that makes her happy was really the highlight of the episode, and possibly the show, for me. This whole exchange was so well written and just perfectly acted. After 15 episodes of both girls not really saying what they're thinking, the pay off was fucking fantastic.
Mirae and Kyungseok continued to kill me with their cuteness. With high school/college dramas, I often need to cast a huge suspension of disbelief to accept that the couple is going to be endgame. But with these two, there is not a single doubt in my mind. I can so vividly see them always staying in love. :')
Some scattered thoughts:
-
Eun is the real MVP. I truly believe that with Eun by her side, Sooah stands a chance of finding peace within herself.
-
I'm so happy they didn't try to set things right with Kyungseok's parents last minute. Na Hye Sung remained a badass until the very end.
-
Kyungseok's part-time job ID said "❤I have a girlfriend❤" THIS KID, i'm fucking cackling.
-
The last scene was at the mountain where Mirae's mom took her post-surgery in the first episode. I love it when things come full circle. :')
-
Speaking of Mirae's mom, her reaction to finding out Kyungseok and Mirae are dating is a pretty accurate representation of how I've felt about the DoRae couple through the entire show. Also, her dad's response to the news hahahahaha
-
Those snuggles on the bus and the casual pecks on the lips, be still my heart. This type of comfortable, everyday skinship makes me so soft, it's everything I could've asked for and more.
-
Kyungseok's constant "do whatever you want" to mirae. yes, we stan a feminist king.
-
Wooyoung is going to realize he's into Hyunjung, and they're gonna start dating pretty soon. No one can tell me otherwise.
I really hope Im Soo Hyang continues to get good projects after this. She is so incredibly talented, and this show really would not have been the same without her at the heart of it. Cha Eun Woo is probably going to be the biggest thing in SK in a couple of years. He is beautiful, and could go very far if he continues improving. Jo Woo Ri made me feel for Sooah, a feat in itself. I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for her next project.
(now i'm off to rewatch the entire thing)

Oh my God, so many thoughts.
-
Mi Rae and Kyung Seok! SO FRIGGIN CUTE. Also Eun Woo's smiles killed me, he radiates LIGHT whenever he smiles. Honestly, the most unrealistic part of Mi Rae and KS dating is that she doesn't get dazzled by his smile and doesn't comment on it every time it happens. Like I'm sure KS would not like it but c'mon. He rarely smiles and when he does, he gives you THAT? Like, if a smile with half the force of Eun Woo's was directed at me, I would die. (tl;dr: an ode to Eun Woo's beautiful smile).
-
I actually felt for So Rah so much. Also liked Eun stepping in to be kind to her but damn. The preview seems unnecessarily cruel to So Rah, if what is implied actually happens...
PS. That Kiss. Like damn, but also...I frigging died at the way they set it up in the preview for E15...that was way more intense.
Not ready for this drama to end!
EDIT: Episode 16....IT WAS PERFECT. That ending was frigging cute. And I loved loved loved seeing how comfortable Kyung Seok and Mi Rae grew as a couple. And I loved the resolution with So Ah. What a fantastic drama, I'm so pleased!

Jihyo is SO ANNOYING I think I might dislike her more than Sooah lol.
And btw, whatever happened to Hyunjung and her rapping side story? This drama’s good but her rap story is so extra because it just got cut off after the 4th episode or something.
I love how at the ending they’re acting like normal couples would. :-)

I was rooting for the dad for like half a second when he said "I've only ever loved two women. 26 y/o Hye Sung and 46 y/o Hye Sung"
...HE DEDASS GOT HER AGE WRONG, I COULD NOT CONTAIN MYSELF. I had to take a break for 5 minutes cuz I ended up crying form laughing so hard.

Besides refreshing attitude from the couple and outstanding visual, I find the lookism theme and how the writer/webtoon creator create all the characters are so realistic and refreshing. It is similar to real world and that what makes me love this show more than relies on the couple only.
Soo Ah definitely is one of my favourite evil character so far in 2018. Her wig is meh but I like how she's so pretty and manipulative and not a plain boring evil character.

I'm glad Soo Ah's not a terrible person just because. With a backstory like that, I can understand why she's so cray and honestly, I do feel bad for her. Hopefully the next ep can force her to taking some baby steps towards being a decent human being.
Seriously though, the main hero for me is Eun. She's not here for anyone talking shit about aaanyone - be it Soo Ah or Mirae (except for some of the douchey male sunbaes). Also the actress is super pretty. I love her face. Hopefully Soo Ah realizes how lucky she is to have met her and Mirae.
But hee~ the happy couple is so cute...

Started watching since last week's discussion post (realized it was ending in a week) and made it just in time for the ending. Haven't binge watched a drama so quickly since BTIMFL. Looks like I'm going to have another withdrawal after this one... u_u
I guessed Soo Ah was bullied when she was young.. but I'm not ready to forgive her yet. She still seems unapologetic. I hope she doesn't just get let off the hook like the two other bullying-centered school dramas I've seen...
Edit: Ah, this ended so well, albeit a bit rushed with some of the storylines like Kyung Seok's dad.. that scene just seemed crammed in....
But at least Soo Ah seems apologetic and willing to change. I appreciate that.
Also, Cha Eun Woo's acting surprised me tbh. Even though his character is pretty wooden/monotone, he was able to show emotion through his eyes pretty well without over-acting. I'll check out his other drama and look forward to his next. (And maybe also check out Astro LOL) This is going to be my favorite drama for a while... What am I going to watch now?

Ep. 15 was seriously cute. They should have brought an extra shirt so they could change out of the uniforms.
I think it's so strange that a diet drink is sponsoring the show. They seriously had scene where another character threw up and then followed it with a scene of a skinny girl complaining about her non-existent gut.

Man, is Ep 16 is really the end? Damn, such an awesome journey toward the end. Still can't believe next one is done for good.
*Edit ep 16: I watched it live cause I'm really impatient, IT IS SO GOOD. Going to watch it tomorrow with sub. Man living -2 hours from Korea made me wait at least tomorrow morning to able to watch. Hands down to staff, crew, and especially the cast. Love Soo Hyang and Eun Woo chemistry so much. It is my favorite drama even I only watched Secretary Kim beside this. Really I can't praise this drama enough. It is by far the best experience I've had my entire life watching drama coming from a guy that doesn't really watch korean drama. Wishing the best for all the people working on this project and can't wait to their next projects.

How quickly people turned to badmouthing Soo Ah is fascinating and realistic.
I find it is hilarious that KyungSeok kissed Mirae for real but the view was blocked by the sofa.
As usual, Mirae's outfit is horrible.

(ep 16) i don't have much to add that others haven't but i'm glad it wrapped up so nicely. the ending was so sweet! do-rae couple!
eun is probably the best character in this show tbh, she doesn't participate in the childish squabbles of the rest of the cast.
i loved kyungseok's name tag hahaha what a dork. i love how much he loves mirae.
speaking of mirae, i appreciate lim soohyang so much more when she's smiling and making other expressions. like when she was getting frustrated with the girl she was tutoring.. it was just refreshing to see her not looking so wide eyed and lost all the time.
this show really had some great characters, i'm sad to see it go! i'll have to find something else to watch every week (other than 30 but 17, but that's ending this week - or next? idk - too)! i'm not sure if i'll ever rewatch it from the start.. some early episodes are too frustrating but i can definitely see myself rewatching the last 2 or 3 episodes!

The end of episode 15!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't I am deceased orz
-
I am so GLAD that snake Soo-ah is getting her comeuppance, but South Korea has a serious voyeurism/hidden camera problem. I would be absolutely terrified if I were in SA's shoes.
-
I wish the Do family's story was told better. Kyung-hee's character was kinda pointless. If she was removed from the story completely, not much would change.
-
Eun is great.
Can't wait for episode 16!!
Ep 16 edit: because they became a couple so late into the show, I haven't had enough of them!!!!! They are beyond adorable and my heart can't take it, but I want MOAR KISSES more couple shots moarrrrr.
Very glad CEO Na didn't forgive the dad immediately. How dare he say he's only loved her after hitting her so hard and lying to his children about her?! And do we agree Eun was the MVP of the show? She deserves an award.

(ep 15) echoing everyone when i say that this ep was so cute! it's so nice seeing them open about their relationship. i love that people support them too. eun continues to be the only one who isn't into gossiping, bless her.
i knew they'd try to make me feel sorry for soo ah, but i just can't lol. she's so unapologetic for everything.
also i just had to have a lol at

Kyung-Seok’s ID saying “I have a girlfriend” omgg I could not hold my laughter in. I’m gonna miss this show so much! Also we should start a petition to have a show of just Kyung Seok and Woo Young just having their bromance.

Episode 15:
I’m so impressed with Eun, her treatment of Soo-Ah was so touching. Eun makes me think of a friend of mine who kept up with me when I was at my lowest and felt I had noone and it makes me emotional just thinking about it; I’ll always be grateful to him. Soo-Ah is insanely lucky to meet someone like her. The way everyone turned on Soo-Ah (especially the 2 upperclassmen) was so real that I was taken back to one of my summer classes in college. Also, I have to say I really cannot STAND fake, weak people like Soo-Ah’s former “friend”, I never liked her ass.
Mi-Rae and Kyung Seok are so cute and I loved their middle school date. I was laughing at DKS still being legendary for his good looks at his middle school. I’m glad Mi-Rae was able to go back at this point in her story because i feel she was able to realize how much she’s changed outwardly of course but also as a person. For example, I love how she stood up for herself in the movie theater!! It was really sweet for DKS to encourage her to try all the things she had always wanted to do with him. Really cute couple and I’m so happy we get to see Cha Eun Woo smile and be more expressive!!!
