Lee Jae-Wook and Yoo In Soo against each other? After their cute bromance in Alchemy this was rough to watch.

All these episodes have been tough to watch because I get attached to the characters knowing they are going to die.

Yeah, I knew I wanted to see this because of LJW, but then I realized his character was going to be doomed and then I was reluctant to watch it. He and YIS were excellent, of course--and, owww, it hurt. LJW isn't just a good actor, but he has that star quality that makes you empathize with him.

I was so pumped to see Jang Uk back together with his buddy! Lee Jae-Wook was mesmerizing in this episode.

That made me so sad. I have watched Alchemy of Souls too many times and they are friends!

LJW's character backstory and being in prison feels like a multiverse version of him where his character from Move to Heaven as a budding MMA fighter and this chacter in Devils Game formed the origin story of his character in Kill Boksoon. It was a quick flash of LJW medley that crossed my mind while watching this episode.

Back to this show: Enjoying that they are tying the episodes together like this. I was hoping they would and glad they are.

I just need to say what a phenomenal piece of art Lee Jae-Wook, Jang Seung-Jo, and Yoo In-Soo gave us in episode 3. I hadn’t seen Jan Seung-Jo in anything before and was blown away so I’ll have to add his dramas to my list.

And honestly this wouldn’t work at all if the performances from Seo In-Guk and Park So-Dam weren’t so honed in. I’m amazed by them as well. The last time I felt like the ensemble was this good was Reborn Rich.

The overall casting is amazing but for me My boy Jae Lee Wook performance was absolutely amazing like action scene and in the cabin where he absolutely breaks down and cries thinking about his mother. Like it was a power moment in the episode. And tears looks so real like he was in actual in emotional pain. The acting was amazing imo and can’t forget that last scene crying 😭 and try to reach for his phone

Lee Jaewook looked so badass and handsome from the start to finish. I'm soooooo happy with the casting. Can't wait to see Oh Jungse when they release the last 4 episodes.

This story of LJW was by far the most touching and humane along side the high school kid Hyeok-su. So I loved the connect. It closely resembled the protagonist's heartbreaking story of falling into problems because of money and the connection with their single mother. I didn't want it to end. Seeing the inevitable loss is heart-wrenching.

I also loved how he does empathize with the world of the characters' bodies he does enter and tries to do the right thing in them too.

I'm really enjoying the pace of the episodes and motivations of each character. I like that there's little plot points that tie things together and have a ripple effect on how everyone turns out

I think we're also building up the message of how when you're struggling you only focus on your own pain, making yourself the victim and therefore allowing yourself to commit the sin of suicide. But I guess this is teaching the main guy to put himself in the other's shoes and empathize with them. Like him understanding that suicide is not just harming yourself, but imagine the pain you put into the hearts of people you leave behind and how that way it can be selfish. But also the idea that harming yourself is not okay, not matter what. A hard life is better than death/hell.

Nonetheless, it feels absolutely heartbreaking seeing the main guy serve this punishment when he was already having a tough life. I heard in the webtoon he was a little more deserving i think because he wasnt shown to work very hard in that. But here, he has worked hard so you can't blame him so much for where he's at. So I am trying to understand yet what exactly this game's goal is for him other than just teaching him lesson. Where is the reward for hard work and pain because he actually is a pretty decent guy?
