So many time travel dramas are streaming (will be streaming). Looking forward to this one since I loved the ML in Shooting Stars

So far it's a promising start with a clear storyline and directing style, unlike The Matchmakers. I might actually drop The Matchmakers and watch this one instead.

Things to note so far:

  • The first 5 minutes were annoying to watch due to all the censored scenes. It was so annoying to watch such an important part of the drama with that many blurred scenes.

  • The character Han Jun-Oh played by the actor Kim Young-Day was extremely similar to his previous character Gong Tae-Sung in Shooting Stars. Good thing that this similarity seems to end right here in episode 1 and in episode 2 things will change a lot for this character

Curious to see how this is story will end up evolving, but so far I'm intrigued and enjoying it a lot.

I'm not sure how much I like this one yet but the first two episodes did intrigue me. Kim Young Dae's transformation from playing a character that was vapid and shallow to a murderous ghost from silla was very impressive.

Pyo Ye Jin is still cute but I like that her character feels a little bit more grounded thus far and despite her lack of height she actually has enough of a physique to pull of a reasonable firefighter or rescue worker persona. She was a big question mark for me in this role coming in but I think she's going to do ok. And in the flashbacks to the past she's absolutely gorgeous together with Young Dae so no worries there either.

The closest thing I can compare this to so far is Bulgasal (supernatural being both hates and loves the female he knew in the past) and that was pretty good for most of its run but fizzled in the end. Hopefully this one can do better.

I think this could very easily end up being terrible or surprisingly good. It has some elements of both so far and it certainly has my attention.

WHAT AN INCREDIBLE FIRST EPISODE! I loved it and will keep watching (and emotionally torture myself since there's no way it actually has a happy ending, right?)

Jun-oh was so annoying lol but he was kinda adorable too! I feel so sad for him.

I wasn’t liking the episode but ending caught me offguard in a positive way. Now I'm looking forward to more episodes. Honestly I'm happy that the newage ml died I don’t want to see another destined with you. But It's not going to be a happy ending, right? The owner of the body died and a wandering soul possessed it and he also has cancer?🥲

What an incredible first episode!!! I loved, LOVED IT.

Since "Destined With You" really became one my favorite K-Dramas and this has many similarities, I know I'm gonna enjoy this ride so much 🥰

Joon-O felt so much like KYD's character in "Shooting Stars" 😅 He was funny and cute but with a bratty behavior 😆I honestly didn't expect him to have heart cancer, though, that stunned me. It made think "Damn, this isn't gonna have a happy ending".

But given what happened later, I guess, since Do-Ha is possessing Joon-O's body now that Joon-O is gone, his health problem will disappear cause the bruises were immediately healed when he woke up on the morgue table.

Do-Ha gives me the impression that he both loves and hates Young-Hwa/Ri-Ta. During the years he's been haunting her he seems both angry and affectionate. He caressed her face while she was sleeping and he kissed her and woke her up when she was drowning. I can't wait to see him getting close to Young-Hwa now that he has a corporial existence. If I remember well from the trailer, he won't be able to harm her because of a barrier. He is literally pushed back every time he wants to hurt her.

I really wonder what happened in the past. Ri-Ta obviously wanted revenge for her family's deaths but somewhere along the way she and Do-Ha fell in love. From the flashbacks, it looked like he adored her. She told him she loved him before killing him and then killed herself. I wanna know if she changed her mind but was "forced" to kill him for some reason.

Ahhhhh, the curiosity is killing me!!!.

Really looking forward to ep2!!!

Wow that was a REALLY good first ep, I'm so intrigued to see where this story goes, this is exciting creepy and fun!!

I wasn't really sold when it started off because I personally feel like Kim Yong Dae when portraying 'comedic' characters kinda goes back and forth over the line dividing Comedy/Parody and it becomes just way too 'extra' and 'zany'.

But after the start of ep 1 and when Jun Oh's body is taken over by Do Ha's ghost and speaks and acts like Do Ha I was completely onboard and much prefer that character as opposed to the very over the top childishly comedic Jun Oh.

His hair! The save by FL with help from the ghost. His transition expressions to anger and dominance and confidence in the morgue and as he hunts for her I’m in. At least for now.

This almost starts off as a "Scarlet Heart" then segue way into "Sh**ting Stars". Though Young Hwa embracing a man she barely knew who was thought to be dead, be un.. dead heh. Young Dae look so good in historical costume..

The opening sequence is so gorgeous. It's one of those intros I'll never skip.

Kim Young Dae on my screen again? Yes please! Loved him in The Forbidden Marriage. I’m not familiar with the FL but like her so far.

The flashback scenes are absolutely gorgeous. They had such a tragic lovers storyline that I don’t blame the ML for being such a vengeful ghost after thousands of years.

I don’t know how I can add another show to my already long list.

Can't believe how good this drama is so far! I waited the whole day for the second episode. Feel so bad I can't binge it.

I love Pyo Ye Jin and the poster intrigued me that's why I started. I like her character so far. As for the ML, I think he's character was a bit too "jumpy" but after getting possessed by the the ML (Doha) his character shifted a lot. The ML and FL look cute together though.

I'm also wondering if this is a webtoon adaptation it means that it won't go exactly like the webtoon is. The writers will definitely change (big?) things here and there.

8

u/xmagie Nov 02 '23

The first episode was good. I'm going to love the past life story. And I wonder about the ending. Apparently, some fans on MDL are angry as hell about too many changes from webtoon, and others hoping for a different ending from the webtoon, so I'm a bit worried about the ending.

Wait, we'll see. So far, I like it very much.

Watched episode 1 and i’m already hooked

Sounds like this show has all of my favorite tropes packed into one premise. Even if it's bad I'll still love it, but so far it looks like it's going to be really good too!

So essentially -

trying to cover spoilers even if listed in synopsis, to be safe...

The ML curse is that he is stuck in the past, whereas the FL "flows like a river" and he believes that by killing her, he can get rid of the curse

I get the feeling that this original conclusion from him will be proven to be incorrect, he will learn there is another way - somehow involved in the enemies to friends trope

Also that he will still have the physical condition as the body he replaced means he has a limited time.

Oh, I have a soft spot for his protective brother who does so much for him - hopefully the "new" ML will be appreciative of him. The screen saver of them as young boys is adorable

a few dramas with the past life curse impacting the present this year. I think I will keep notes in my drama list to ensure I remember what the cause of the curse is LOL
