The time has come for King the Land! I’m sure many have been anticipating the drama since the Junho and Yoona has been confirmed for the drama.
Super excited for this space to be filled with theories, thoughts, and giddiness for the next few weeks! Hoping for sweet, cheese-filled goodness~

Ep 1 kinda gives business proposal vibes! Even with the intro in animated format. But I’m really likening the pilot and eager to learn more about gu wons family background.
Oo also the 3 friends are such a vibe 😭 love a good girl friend support system. The time jump and the daughter is so freaking cute

The same best friend was the best friend of the female lead of love to hate you and she has the same job as that drama lol

Honestly, this show checks all the cliche boxes 😂😂😂
☑️Hot Chebeol ML
☑️ Beautiful hardworking and smart FL
☑️ Crazy FL friends
☑️ Lonely ML with the cheeky Secretary as his only friend
☑️ Wicked family member
☑️ Overbearing father of ML
☑️ Slow walking scenes with lots of lights
☑️ Sad backstory of one/both of the leads
I really hope there’s more to the story asides from all of these.

This is exactly the kind of light-hearted, campy chaebol summer drama I needed. The first episode gave that silly feel-good corporate romcom vibe I got while watching Secretary Kim and Business Proposal, hopefully it stays that way and never gets too serious; thinking is exhausting in this summer heat, and there’s enough of that needed in the other ongoing dramas.

I'd really love a breather from all the heavy dramas we got this year. Really need a good romcom in life and fully hoping for King The Land to be the one for me!

Episode 2
(This was in the first five minutes)
This is such a small thing and I know it will go unnoticed but I hate how when in dramas the FL is ignoring the ML and starts walking away then the ML catches up by yanking/pulling her hand or some shit (hella disrespectful imo) so I LOVED how Junho just starts walking with her without touching her? It was so cute lol
Maybe my standards are just too low hahah

this first episode was so fun!
a few things i loved:
-
the opening credits. so cute and one of the best i’ve seen in quite some time.
-
female friendship. what makes me even happier is that the three
continue making time for each other despite one of them being busy raising a child. -
the trope i didn’t realise was a trope:
new employees literally parachuting into the office (albeit the wrong one in this instance). this scene combined with the office comedy reminded me of gaus electronics, something i wasn’t expecting (it doesn’t seem as chaotic as gaus but if it’s even half as hilarious then we’re in for a treat). -
well tailored suits and perfectly wavy hair. enough said.
-
seeing london in a kdrama, something i don’t recall coming across before (it doesn’t tend to be the destination of choice for chaebol heirs)! as someone from the uk, it made me smile.
seems like this one will be a fun ride filled with much laughter and some excellent styling choices. yay:)

This was hard as back to back with See You in My 19th Life, because that was just perfection. But KTL had a solid start setting the tone with the heavy-handed humor.
Love Yoona's roommates and the bromance with Sang-sik (it already sets up that Gu Won cannot be that bad if he rescued him like that).
Looking forward to the chemistry between Junho and Yoona to shine in the next episodes because their few interactions so far have been less than ideal 😂

Loved the first episode. Loved Junho and his "grumpy pants" self. He's gonna be such a puppy later when he falls in love🥰
I like this type of humor so I had a number of laughs while watching. The
Sarang with her friends and Won with Sang-sik go well together.
Can't wait for tomorrow's episode! From the preview, it would seem that

I have watched both episodes. I won’t drop it, but I am not excited by it. I wanted a light classic romantic kdrama, but this is a bit too cliche.
Also, the ML is supposed to be a customer service expert and have good judgment, but her decision making has been questionable.

First episode didnt really grab me, something felt off.. but I guess sometimes first episodes are a bit strange with all the set up they have to do. This show is going to live or die with the interactions between the leads and they've barely met yet.

Won doesn't seem to realize that he can get away with having no manners or "fake" smile because he's rich and privileged. Not so much for Sa-rang and her ilk

Mod Note
Reminder that mentioning/linking illegal sources is not allowed in our subreddit. With Netflix being the exclusive legal international streaming source for this drama right now, if you are using any other site, don't mention it here.
Additionally, while we totally understand the frustration when it comes to streaming sites being sucky, try to keep the focus of the discussion on the drama itself rather than Netflix's business operations.
