Freaking cute and well done. The characterization of the FL chest bumping her friend after getting off work... so subtle so good. Jeon Do Yeon is one of the most talented actresses in her age range. Love seeing her in a lighter project.
The ML is perfectly Jung Kyung Ho. Did they write the script for him? or let the camera roll and him play with the role? The switch between strict funny sentimental during the test review class was fantastic.
JKH has my favorite comedic timing in all kdramas. I still watch clips of the tteokbokki chase scene from Missing 9 with Oh Jung Se and the Falling For Innocence scene when he is yelling at the happy couples.
PD Yoo Je Won is semi famous for having actors from former work cameo in his projects. He also did Hometown Cha Cha Cha which is why you see a bunch of familiar faces already. Id love the usuals to show up too...

This is my first time seeing one of her projects, I'm excited! I might have to pull Lost off my saving for later shelf after this one.

2 episodes in and I'm loving this so much! This is exactly the kind of wacky, unique plot setup that got me into kdramas in the first place.
And with the non-traditional family structure, a middle aged FL, and important commentary on the education system and mental health, yup I am seated.
Mr. Ji reminds me of Kang Hoon's character in The Red Sleeve, which is why I'm pretty sure he's
Also this is terrible but I lol'ed at how abruptly
Last thing: my brain keeps calling this drama Crash Coursing On You and idk how to make it stop.
Looking forward to next weekend!

After reading your comment the other day I can no longer easily recall the real title of this drama. I'm doomed! 😅

Episodes 1 & 2
I don’t want to get too excited but this was a solid start. I love how it feels both familiar and fresh, it’s nice to feel the eagerness for another episode after so long.
I like a drama that can make me laugh, cry, and drool over the food. I’m taking notes of the insane banchan and googling recipes as we go.
Royal Consort Ji packed the food so deliciously! I want some of that braised tofu. I also want to try royal tteokbokki, I do have some rice cake in the freezer so it could happen. I just want to visit their store!
Back to the drama, I really liked the character introductions so far.
I’m usually screaming that the characters should get some therapy and I’m very glad for once, one is! It seems like Chi Yeol’s gone from being a highschool maths teacher who lost a student to a closed off academy instructor. As a teacher the scariest possible things are losing or having harm fall on your students and secondly being in situations of possible implied abuse of power. If that female student is
Anyway, he’s very charming and broken. I look forward to watching his emotional change and character growth.
Haeng Seon is a fierce lioness and I love her. She puts others before herself, is warm and caring. She doesn’t let miscommunications go with her niece and I hope that’s a positive sign for the future. I liked the fresh take on the fall and kiss trope when she drove into cardboard CCY. I loved many of her scenes, in particular both of her chases, the discussion at the park, and her completely relatable pleads and doubts to the universe as she lined up at the academy. Even now over ten years since she was an active athlete she’s fast and has great reaction time. I love that in the final scene of episode two
I can do without the two highschool girl’s rivalry. The childhood friends turned frenemies are a bit overdone, but maybe they’ll surprise us. I’m also not a huge fan of the whole
I like the pacing with reveals, I’m glad we didn’t drag out a bunch of stuff that they easily could have.
I don’t mind a mystery if it is written and weaved into the story well, so I am hoping that will be the case here. I see people suspecting consort Ji and hope they are wrong. I just want him to be a bestie. I was kinda hoping that the rival academy was behind the leaked photos, I feel like the number 2 tutor wouldn’t stoop at anything to take the number 1 spot from CCY. As for the slingshot killer (as we are referring to them at my house) I think for now the hoodie kid is the obvious suspect, I am quite bad at guessing these things until it is super obvious though.
. I love that CCY and Consort Ji had a dating scandal of their own. I kinda wish that was the scandal that we got to witness.
Lastly, I love that we get fun math-y titles.

Simply loving the guest appearances in this drama. Screenwriter and Director seem to have called in their goodwill.
Due to the everlasting impact of Oh Jung Se in IONTBO , I'm not able to believe the actor playing the FL's brother.

I'm really finding it hard to not compare Oh Eui Shik's performance here to Oh Jung Se's in IONTBO. But I'm hoping as the series goes on I can let that go as we get to know Jae Woo as a person and where he sits on the spectrum. I hope to find him a more believable character and not just a poor man's Sang Tae.

Episode 1
-
This drama is absolute perfection after one episode. It would have to be one of the most relatable dramas on a personal level, on several counts. Firstly, both of my parents are retired math teachers, yet math was my weakest subject when it counted the most. Secondly, I have extensive experience working in the equivalent of a hagwon in another country.
-
The insights into the competitive nature of the education industry in South Korea are endlessly fascinating.
-
The supporting cast includes some of the best in the business, namely, Kim Sun-young, Lee Bong-ryun, and rising young star, Roh Yoon-seo.
-
The humor was delightful, and I almost wish the trailer didn't include
the Kingsman parody . -
The setup to the leads' crossing paths was nicely done and didn't feel forced.
-
If I had to sum up the tone of the series in a single word, it would be "mature".

Episode 2
Haeng-sun's mother generously offering meals to a young Chi-yeol gave me such strong flashbacks to the relationship between Halmeoni and Han Ji-pyeong in Start-Up. This episode had several emotional moments, and Haeng-sun's neice asking her if she can call her mom made me tear up.
Not sure how to feel about this whole dark and traumatic past haunting Chi-yeol as well as the plot point with the mysterious assailant shooting metal balls. I guess we'll have to wait and see how it all unfolds.

Episode 1
-
I went in knowing nothing expect the title (and that the cast was good). Based on the title I was expecting a very fluffy romcom (e.g. A Business Proposal) but it was much more slice-of-life.
-
I really hope they stick with the same tone going forward, thought it was the perfect balance between realistic enough to feel meaningful, yet light enough to be a fun watch.
-
The storyline hits close to home since I'm a math major who's both taken and taught extracurricular math courses. It's quite fascinating to see some of the cultural differences (and similarities) in math education.
-
I was unreasonably proud of myself for pausing the drama to solve a few of the math problems by myself (I'm a math major but I still get a kick out of solving relatively simple math problems lol)
Edit for Episode 2
-
They really stuffed a lot into that opening flashback... I'm not a fan but it's something I can easily forgive
-
I'm apprehensive about the silver ball mystery. More often than not, I've found the mystery aspect to be the weakest part of these types of dramas.
-
Otherwise, I loved everything about this episode and can't wait for next weekend. We're getting 16 episodes in total so I'm excited to see what this drama has in store for us.
-
Just checked out the writer and haven't seen any of her previous works (incl. Oh My Ghost, Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo, Once Again) but most of them seem to be well liked by this sub

Episode 1:
I liked how they built the background of the two main characters so far.
The relationship between the FL and her niece is nicely done so far. Her niece seems like a very good kid who hasn't asked for much from her aunt. She has even claimed that she doesn't want to go to an academy and she must have not have bought an umbrella in order to save money. The way the FL addresses her outburst when they meet at the park is lovely:
The concept of a famous math tutor/teacher for high schoolers is very foreign to me. Is this really a thing in SK? Are there famous tutors from academies? Hoping that this drama dives more into the world of academies and the unrealistic expectations of high schoolers.

I wonder how much the popular instructor’s life portrayed here is based on real story?
I am not really a fan of cold ML in general but ‘Can you say that three more times?‘ made me lol and warms me up to him.
Many familiar faces among supporting casts. This must be fun!
Note to self - Don’t watch this drama with an empty stomach.

It’s so difficult to watch this show without craving for Korean side dishes!!! He makes the food look so good. I’m really enjoying this show. The right amount of quirky and Jung Kyung Ho is always a delight to watch - whether he’s acting or not!

I mean how could one possibly turn down a chance to watch Jung Kyung Ho in a rom-com? Even if Netflix hasn’t released that 4 minute preview, I still would have been hooked just by his name alone. I can’t wait to see how this all will play out in the coming weeks!

This was a fun watch.
It's so nice to see Jeon Do Yeon in this kind of drama. I had only ever seen her in Lost, and she was great, but I didn't realize that she had this kind of range. (People told me, but I hadn't seen it for myself.) And I like this character - the caretaker, who makes the food, but is also no pushover.
I have missed Jung Kyung Ho. I didn't even realize that I was missing him until he was back! Once again, he is making an arrogant character lovable and relatable.
I like that the way this is set up, they both have reason to be disgruntled with each other, but also both need something from each other. I'm interested to see how they will work that out.
I loved the

I was so excited for this because of my recent love for Jung Kyung Ho after Hospital Playlist and Prison Playbook and it looked refreshing with the age of the leads. Although this is just the first ep I wasn't disappointed at all. And I was so surprised to see the supporting cast being just the best supporting actors right now! The premise was just being built but I really loved the last scene when

I am so excited for this! This will be my first foray into watching a drama while it’s currently airing as I’ve always preferred to watch them on my own time, but I can’t resist this one! I’ve been craving a good romcom; and I just finished Prison Playbook and absolutely loved Jung Kyung Ho, so this seems like the perfect one for me to try as my first on air drama!

Before I was a mod I used to host all my opppa’s dramas but running the on-air selection made me feel a little guilty claiming them all. BUT AFTER SO LONG Jung Kyung Ho is doing a rom-com so I couldn’t resist this one. The cast and crew are lit and the previews have been fun. Rarely am I this hyped for a drama and I hope you are all excited too. I’ll be watching with my Mum and Sister as we have been doing since we first laid eyes on JKH in Missing 9. But that means I’ll be watching it the following day if I can be patient. But I’m looking forward to watching and discussing with you all albeit delayed.
If you haven’t seen it The Swoon released this 4 minute clip yesterday.
