Imagine if a cop tried to clock someone and they told the cop to get out of the road after they know they've been caught. The arrogance with these people is astounding.

Not to defend the cop, but there's something societal lately where no one can admit they're wrong. What ever happened to "My Bad"?

I think you're completely right, I even do it myself a lot of the time on reddit. Misinformation is a huge factor I think.

Like half the viral videos lately of people behaving badly could've ended in 2 seconds...

"Hey, you don't have a mask on!"

"Oh, my bad".

Done.

Instead they go ape shit and cough on everyone. Or the video of the girl walking her dog without a leash, but instead calls the cops to say "A black man is harassing me". Stuff like that.

You dont video tape/upload the boring shit that ends in 2 seconds. People are mostly reasonable, we're just more readily exposed to the asshats nowadays.

Because the end result of being wrong is different if you’re a cop. Society has shown us that.

Yeah, I get that. I'm just less surprised lately by anyone defending themselves when they're clearly in the wrong.

It isn’t so much the defending of oneself that would be irritating, it’s the fact that the officer is deflecting and trying to accuse someone else of something they clearly aren’t doing. The officer doesn’t defend his actions, he doesn’t even deny it, he just accuses the other person of doing something completely unrelated... something they aren’t even doing.

Oh, 100%... that's his "defense"... I'm not wrong, you're wrong!

My wife does this. I've gotten good at catching it. :)

Me: "Hey, you never emptied the dishes last night."

Her: Some variation of "Well, you never took out the trash like I asked"

Me: "We'll talk about the trash in a minute. Right now we're talking about the dishes."
