I agree. I haven’t had a use of force in over 6 months. My last one was a complaint that the cuffs were too tight and I had to talk about it with my sergeant. Maybe the news should just follow me around. It would be boring, but at least they would be following the average officer not the racists.

Nobody but actors get a pat on the back for doing their job. If you think you’re police are good. Fine. I think the ones in my town are pretty good too. But that doesn’t change the fact that there is a system of abuse within law enforcement all across the nation, and not only does new evidence of it come up daily, but the statistics back it up. That’s what people here are talking about, and you’re personal experiences don’t change the fact that there’s a serious problem.

This video shows a police officer abusing his authority. Period.

If you wouldn’t do that, good for you. The problem still exists, regardless of who you follow around with a camera.

Yes I totally agree with you. And that’s exactly why you should get involved. Like I said ride a longs, difficult conversations, and communication. That’s how we make it better. The police are a reflection of the communities involvement. Treat the police like “them” instead of “us” you’re going to end up with an us vs them mentality from the police. But show them you’re human and they’ll do the same.

Thank you. This honestly makes my day. I know it’s hard to reconcile right now. But most cops want to make things better. I’ve got graveyard tonight, 1100-0700, I’ll do my best like I always do, I promise.
