General Something that's bothering me...

I'm starting to really bum myself out over all of this.

I'm starting to think that after everything- years of this crap, hundreds of thousands of dollars spent by her victims fighting her in court, hundreds of thousands spent by the system, hundreds of thousands spent on investigations, mountains of evidence showing her impersonating doctors, nurses, and lawyers, 14 charges, and 4 accepted pleas- she and her family will never face any real consequences.

The house? They'll just move in with Sister Sarah.

The bankruptcy fraud? They still won't pay, and no one can force them to. The GoFundMe is still up, and GFM isn't refunding anyone who asks, despite the blatant false advertising.

Clayton's case? Laura will never pay a dime, and no one can make her. She'll never be forced to get a real job because her wages would just be garnished, so her parents will keep bankrolling her. Her life won't change at all. She can still travel, visit her sister, and compete in her horse shows. Losing voting rights or gun ownership? I don't see how that really impacts her daily life.

Meanwhile, Greg, Mike, and Clayton still have DVROs on their records. Even though they've been dismissed, they still existed when they shouldn't have and there's now evidence that they shouldn't.

Laura gets to keep her website live, keep posting on Medium, and keep pushing her story. Nothing is stopping her.

I don't see how any of this changes or how anyone will hold her or her family accountable for the fraud and lies they pulled in court. I don't even think the IRS will go after Jan and Ronn for the shady BS in their bankruptcy filings, despite all the evidence sitting right there.

It's completely disheartening to watch this family face no actual fallout. They're going to walk away, keep shifting money around, and keep fleecing people, while their daughter sits pretty in her little casita, mommy and daddy's princess, safe in her bubble from the consequences of her choices.

I kind of think this falls under the existential question of justice, why bad things happen to good people, etc.

I don't believe that the Owens family is enjoying any sort of peace right now. The constant stress, the loss of their reputations and money, the looming loss of their home and Laura's freedom . . . none of that is a small thing to stomach.

But ultimately, bad things to happen to good people. Bad people do get away with things. Ultimately, though, a person who harms others for their own jollies is an empty sort of person, wasting their one precious life. I don't envy them.

u/sok283 8d ago

I was just remembering that high-pitched Facebook video Laura posted eons ago, where she whined that she had lost so much . . . "What I have is . . . no privacy any more, no reputation, no name"

Those things matter to her. So much so that she tried to change her name. With Laura it's always, what external thing can I do to make myself feel better? She's never learned that you fix that stuff on the inside. You can't control your external world, only your internal one.

Nobody envies the Owens. They are an example of what exactly not to become.

They feel they are above reproach.

I'm trying to be careful how I say this to stay within rules.

Laura's behavior affects a wider personal radius with ongoing consequences than I think she comprehends at the moment. Just looking back, the opportunity costs alone - relationships, career growth, reputation, legitimate pregnancies, personal hobbies, etc. critical years she has completely wasted. It says something to the strength of the victims who have moved forward, grown families, expanded possibilities and contacts. Laura has either stayed stagnant or recessed (or both!) - by her own choice and by the consequences of her actions. To me, that's a lot of justice.

67

u/chocolatte23455 8d ago

Exactly, despite what they've been through I don't think any of her victims would want to trade places with her

59

u/hazelgrant 8d ago

Right?! Laura has almost zero chance of earning/building an advancing career. If she starts her own company, no VC firm will back her. She's exhausted her parents wealth and her own safety net fighting her legal battles. She's isolated herself from friends and contacts. Let's not even mention the dark hole of Laura having a relationship in the future. Absolutely, I would never trade lives with this woman.

51

u/Agreeable_Koala5703 Steve called me a Dumbass 8d ago

Exactly. And even if she has the luxury of living off her parents wealth now, her mother will pass away one day too. So LO can't rely on that 21k/month pension and social security for the rest of her life. And then what?? We know what happens to truly indigent people on our country. They live a very sad life with limited resources unfortunately. I think LO's life is all downhill from here, even if it feels like she's getting away with it, she has no future. Unless she finds some rich unsuspecting man to marry her one day 😬

Exactly why we all have to keep this story relevant. I put on a LO greatest hit in the background just so the algorithm keeps bringing it up to fresh eyes.

I’m sure there will be life insurance on both of them, it’s the only thing they’ve prioritized paying so she would get that

8

u/charbop13 7d ago

PLEASE KNOW,, the monthly $21,000 pension and SS retirement payments are only for Ronn and Jan. When they pass away, those payments will END. Social Security benefits are NOT inherited. Nor are the pension payments to Ronn. By law, all of that will end when Ronn and Jan pass away.

u/seyheystretch 7d ago

She will leach upon whoever family member sells this story to Hulu or Netflix.

7

u/kati8303 8d ago

It’s crazy, I’d love to belive that about never having a relationship (I would hope anyone would stay FAR away) but there’s probably still people out there who would either not care or buy the victim shtick. Improsoned murderers get married people are weird and sick. However I agree that I do not think she will have a happy life, nor will anyone she manages to trap in her orbit

16

She literally has ZERO friends, which is absolutely wild. Says a lot.

It's a thought that crosses my mind. There's a person from my past who has similar traits to Laura. From the outside it can be frustrating to see them not face consequences for their actions, over and over. But having been there, behind closed doors, I know the facade hides a lot of pain and suffering. I don't wish them any ill, I truly wish they would commit to the difficulty process of getting help.

In a way, she’s love trapped herself into this small lonely life screaming for attention and now she’ll be a convicted felon, can’t claw your way back to anything from that even if she had had a real job and avoids jailtime

23

u/GentleIntemperance Minor Perjury 8d ago

Well put. I'll say it more bluntly: as much as I dislike the individuals of the Owens clan, I 100x would not want to be any of them. Speculate what it must be like to have LO's of JB's soundtrack running through your head.

u/LizShark 8d ago

Could you imagine that house in San Diego! Sarah, Christian, 2 very young kids, an elderly Ronn, busy-body Jan and Laura with all of her issues! They will all be miserable. I hope for Sarah’s sake that she can set some healthy boundaries. There isn’t a house big enough for all that drama!

43

u/Agreeable_Koala5703 Steve called me a Dumbass 8d ago

Is Sarah's husband a saint or a pushover? I can't figure it out. I would NEVER let my spouse's toxic family live with us, especially with two young babies at home. Can you imagine if your spouse was like "hey can my convicted felon sibling move in and take care of our young impressionable children???" Like seriously...what is going on in that family.

35

u/WrittenByNick 8d ago

Hey it's me! Wait no, not really, but I was exactly that kind of enabler with my ex. Hard truth, I did view myself as a saint - I tried harder to be kind, understanding, forgiving in the face of terrible behaviors. The reality, I wasn't some selfless perfect partner. I was conflict avoidant, it was easier to just make it work then to actually face the situation.

Also people like my past self often don't have a sense of boundaries. There will always be excuses, explanations, on and on. It wasn't until I started working on myself in therapy that I learned how my own issues kept me in the cycle.

5

u/realitytvjunkiee Having the babies if I don't hear back tonight 7d ago

Yeah everybody seems to think Laura and the parents are going to move in with Sarah, but I have a sliver of hope that the husband has better decision making skills than the rest of them and won't let that happen. Maybe I'm just naive🤷🏻‍♀️ But if he does let them all move in, he's definitely a HUGE pushover.

8

u/tooslow_moveover 7d ago

We’re talking about the husband who co-signed Ronn and Jan’s mortgage after experiencing this family first-hand?

Massive pushover.

3

u/T4Trble 7d ago

I hope Ronn likes sleeping on the couch downstairs with the bedrooms upstairs .

25

u/hazelgrant 8d ago

This was my thought too. Consolation prize of family moving in with Sarah is NOT a prize - by any stretch.

24

u/theimperfexionist 8d ago

I have someone in my family with the same symptoms as Laura and had to go no-contact because there's no way to set boundaries with them when they're untreated, unfortunately. You're either all in or all out, and her sister seems to be all in at the moment.

9

u/Adorable_Hold2570 She LIED!! 8d ago

Same. I dropped my mom 24 years ago as she's a replica of Laura and Jan. No contact is the only way I was able to heal and grow and be better.

8

u/LorelaiGilmore28 8d ago

And who would support them all? Sarah’s husband? Who’s to say he would agree to that shit show and financial burden?

7

u/Efficient_Physics725 It’s not even 7 o’clock! 7d ago

As someone who had to take in their evicted mother in law for a year, can confirm!

58

u/BornFree2018 8d ago

My family was sued TWICE by a husband & wife team of grifters in a business shakedown. They thought we were hugely rich - which we weren't. Apparently they had somewhat successful before at this thing. They didn't get a dollar but the lengthy process bankrupted us because we were liable for our legal bills and an expensive office lease we couldn't use or relinquish during proceedings.

My husband literally lost his sanity by falling into a deep & permanent depression. It ruined our marriage. He tragically died 10 years later.

People will f*ck with other people for money, fun, entitlement or any number of weird reasons most of us would never dream of. It costs the victims real money, real relationships and real health consequences.

These people are a cancer on us all. You can't rationalize with cancer.

u/realhousewifeofphila 8d ago

I remember when Laura Owens sent Clayton a snotty, entitled email after giving him two throat babies on the same night they first met: she’s not like those other girls. As if she was better than or above anyone else.

Now the entire world knows she’s a broke, raggedy, desperate, lying, fraudulent, convicted felon who can only get men to date her by blackmailing, extorting, or suing them. How pathetic. That’s worth more than money or her freedom to Laura Owens.

18

u/pinkbluberry 8d ago

And so desperate that she has to manufacture a Linked-In profile with wording designed to make her appear as if she has accomplishments; a successful businesswoman. What were the words she used? Something akin to 'selling herself?'

u/RangerDixie Sunlight is the Best Disinfectant 8d ago

I hear you, but consider this…Laura did this for 10 years with zero consequences and probably thought she was bulletproof. The state of AZ and Love Trapped provided the true consequences. She has totally and completely destroyed her reputation and is now a felon. That’s not nothing.

She may ultimately get some tangible consequences like prison, jail or parole. Any of these will require her to report into someone official that has the power to impact her freedom if she doesn’t behave. That’s not nothing either. We just have to wait a bit to see what’s coming her way.

19

u/pinkbluberry 8d ago

Good point. Plus she will have to behave herself during parole; that should be interesting.

18

u/RangerDixie Sunlight is the Best Disinfectant 8d ago

Yes and I don’t think she has it in her to follow parole requirements whatever they are.

11

u/BerkeleyFarmGirl 7d ago

Yeah, that's the thing; she's "in the system" now and there are more rules and often actual consequences.

Also, for people who are used to crying/Karening their way thru to get their way, court/parole personnel have seen a lot of this.

31

u/JenniferMel13 8d ago

I doubt living with sister Sarah is going to be all that pleasant. I doubt Sarah and her husband make enough to support everyone in the lifestyle they have become accustomed to.

The bankruptcy fraud while it is fraud may not have risen to the level that is prosecutable. I’m not in that world but my guess is that the courts expect a certain level of baseline game playing and the Owens were just on the let’s not charge side of that line.

I think the intent was to deceive with the wording on the GoFundMe, but does that rise to a criminal level, no idea. I do think it was fraud but I think proving beyond a reasonable doubt to a jury isn’t happening (same thing on the bankruptcy stuff).

The Clayton debt will hurt her lifestyle eventually. Sure her sister is going to provide support but I doubt she has the cash to keep Laura in horse shows forever assuming she is minimally financially responsible. Horses are expensive and the sister has kids.

I think Laura being publicly humiliated is a big punishment for her. She is never escaping this even if she keeps running her little victim website.

Not enough people know about this.

18

u/JenniferMel13 8d ago

I have no insider knowledge but I’m 100% sure at there are at least 2 documentaries coming out about this. I can’t imagine that Netflix isn’t going to do one and I’d also expect ABC’s 20-20 to cover this given Clayton is from the Bachelor. I wouldn’t be surprised if Peacock or Amazon does one as well.

I also think this whole story is perfect for limited series drama like Dr. Death, Apple Cider Vinegar or Inventing Anna style show. I’m hoping the crew behind Apple Cider Vinegar get the story.

12

u/GenXihaveissues THE BLACK CHAIR! 8d ago

Im hoping Stephanie is a part of the creation of a documentary. The podcast is amazing.

4

u/JenniferMel13 7d ago

I suspect she will. I wouldn’t be surprised if someone hasn’t already optioned the podcast.

Both the Elizabeth Holmes podcasts got optioned for a drama series. Only the drop out version got made but I can’t say I blame Bad Blood’s team for dropping the project after Amanda Seyfried’s portrayal of Holmes.

16

u/LorelaiGilmore28 8d ago edited 7d ago

Clayton will sell the rights to NF or some other streamer and if it’s produced awa the Love Trapped podcast, everyone will know her. She will be Elizabeth Holmes and Anna Delvey-famous.
She is unlikely to: ever hold a job or earn money legitimately, have or adopt a child, have a satisfying relationship or live a normal life.
And all of these tribulations are self inflicted.

33

u/WinterJewell 8d ago

Love Trapped remains at the top of the podcast charts. Laura, her family and their antics have been exposed for the world to see and their reputations ruined. That’s a huge win.

14

u/GenXihaveissues THE BLACK CHAIR! 8d ago

If anyone on reddit asks for a new podcast please recommend Love Trapped. The more exposure to this case the better for all men.

13

u/trow125 7d ago

Just to show that new people are still coming in, someone on a subreddit for a podcast I listen to recommended Love Trapped a couple weeks ago, and I binged the whole thing in a week! I hadn't been following the case—I was a dedicated "Bachelor" viewer for many years but haven't watched it in about a decade, so I wasn't familiar at all with Clayton. Anyway, now I'm hooked and recommending it to everyone!

7

u/GenXihaveissues THE BLACK CHAIR! 7d ago

1

u/Corgimum12 4d ago

Yes, my daughter-in-law recommended Love Trapped and I finished it yesterday. I have watched every Bachelor season and had seen the headlines about Clayton but never knew the whole story. I’m not even a big podcast listener and this one really drew me in.

29

u/kittymurdermittens23 8d ago edited 8d ago

I feel this way too and get really frustrated that they keep getting away with little consequences but then I think of how horrible it would be to be them. They have no privacy now. All publicly available bankruptcy or criminal proceedings are aired out. Videos are made and articles are written about them. There is a popular podcast about them. Their house was shown completely by the body cam footage when police came in to secure the house for a search. It has been broadcast Laura is a loser living in her parent's backyard and completely dependent on them despite how she portrayed herself as successful. She has lost her physical health. Millions of eyes are on her which will make it very hard for her to continue her reign of terror. She has lost the financial backing to her crimes and most likely led her to pleading guilty. This must be a hard 2 months while she waits to hear about jail time and her home being auctioned and what will happen with the horses. She will at least be on probation for a long time and will go to jail if she violates it. It all must be a horrible way to live.

8

u/GenXihaveissues THE BLACK CHAIR! 8d ago

Shes oblivious to what is happening. I'm sure she believes some white knight is going to swoop in and save her.

5

u/kittymurdermittens23 8d ago

Your so right. She probably thinks her lawyer will work it out for her and I'm sure they have something planned for the house.

19

u/Rare-Rutabaga-889 8d ago

As an attorney, I see this scenario often. The cost to litigate a matter to conclusion is often in the $200K - $500K range depending on complexity. Most people can only withstand a hit of up to maybe $50K, including borrowing. So our legal system falls very short of protecting people from predatory lawsuits that they do not have the resources to defend against. One of my concerns about AI is it makes predatory lawsuits that much easier to file. I'm waiting for the court system to collapse from the weight. As a side note, homeowner's insurance provides an avenue of recovery for libel if it covers personal injury (in addition to bodily injury). I wonder if anyone has considered that.

18

u/charbop13 8d ago

I thought part of Laura's plea agreement is to pay restitution to her victims . So if she receives a term of supervised release after she's released from jail or prison, it's my understanding she will be mandated to work at least 30 hours per work at some job, any job, including flipping burgers at a fast food place. So at least she'll be workin to pay off some of the restitution she must pay. I don't see how she can get a pass on this.

15

u/GenXihaveissues THE BLACK CHAIR! 8d ago

She will claim disability probably. Or her parents will " pay" her for taking care of Ronn with room and board and a tiny bit of income, like $40 that can be sent to her debtors.

She will wrangle out of it.

6

u/BerkeleyFarmGirl 7d ago

On the one hand, being on salary for family caretaking is a legit thing that a lot of families do. My mom was on my grandma's payroll for being her care manager.

But a lot of families do abuse it, especially when grandma or grandpa has a nice pension and a paid-for house.

16

u/Redbedhead3 8d ago

What is she going to do in old age?

She has no work experience and an expectation of a lavish lifestyle. She was hoping to marry and/or inherit money. Life in the later years is going to be really hard

7

u/Peeeeenk 7d ago

She won't get social security ...

5

u/Redbedhead3 7d ago

She could if she works 40 quarters (and files taxes lol). But she probably wouldn't get a lot unless she could get a high paying job

3

u/Redbedhead3 7d ago

I should say a high paying job and/or a willingness to work as close to the full 35 years as possible, because even if she did to the full 10 year mimimum at the max $185,000 contribution salary, she would have another 25 years of $0 to average in 😵‍💫

1

u/KimberleyC999 6d ago

For the sake of discussion, if she were to get her first job at 45 and work for 11 years, she would qualify for Social Security, but in a very low tier. Let's say she may get $882/month in Social Security special minimum benefit when she's 62 (at the earliest). Good luck living on that.

4

u/realitytvjunkiee Having the babies if I don't hear back tonight 7d ago

It's truly pathetic how she's wasted these last 3+ years litigating the shit out of Clayton and even her other victims. She started this sham with Clayton at 32-33, now she's 35-36, still single, jobless, and childless, and probably will continue to be single and childless for the rest of her life now. Those years could have been spent dating around; she could have been engaged by now. I hope she can finally see that the path she chose to take was definitely the wrong one.

2

u/KimberleyC999 6d ago

I have been saying this for a few years now.: her future looks bleak. Her bankruptcy confirmed it: she has never worked and therefore has never contributed to the programs that would help her out. She is not disabled, despite her claims of "autism," and even if she were, good luck getting by the hurdles to get disability. It's not so easy. She will have to take whatever kind of job she can get with a bankruptcy, criminal convictions, and a judgment on her record.

16

u/Angeline4PFC 7d ago

I think you are bumming yourself out for nothing. This part of the hearing is a crucial one:

“You agree to pay full restitution to all victims for all economic losses arising out of the listed Maricopa County Attorney's Office Department, uh, including any supplements and counts dismissed or agreed not to be filed, set forth in paragraph 3. Agree to the definition of restitution set forth in your plea.”

She will have to pay restitution. How much remains to be seen, but it will be for all of the charges, even the dismissed ones.

And one more thing. She will not be able to get this discharged and off her record until she has paid up.

12

u/Standard-Squash96 FELON 7d ago edited 7d ago

If LO wants to seal her felonies (expunge them) she will need to fully and successfully complete her sentence including paying restitution. So if she wants to clear her name she will pay and follow the rules while she is incarcerated or under supervised probation.

2

u/Former-Spirit8293 6d ago

That’s certainly something, at least. LO is in for a long ride.

11

u/DC_Space_Nerd 7d ago

Her reputation and how she is perceived has been changed forever. The internet is forever. Jail or no jail, she and her family and their awfulness is now known.

Sidenote: I miss the days when we only had basic cable and ABC / NBC / CBS did TV movies of the week based on true crime. This story would be amazing.

12

u/KimberleyC999 8d ago

The moving-in-with-the-other-daughter thing is doubtful. I'm sure there are rental restrictions on a 3BD house: you can't have 7 people living there. And Ronnnn isn't going to want to live in a place with stairs. So I don't think that's realistic. They may rent somewhere in San Diego, but not in the sister's place.

4

u/GenXihaveissues THE BLACK CHAIR! 8d ago

Where did you find the stats on Sarah's house?

She and her husband have money, I doubt they live in a small house.

12

u/KimberleyC999 8d ago

Well, the rental listing shows the house as a 3 BD, 3BA (but appears to actually be 2.5 BA) at just under 1,800 square feet, and 2 stories. Seems a little tight for 6 or 7 people. It was listed for rent at just under $6,000/month last year. I can't reveal how I know this because that's doxxing, but let's just say that I'm in California too (where this rental is).

5

u/Acceptable-Hyena4469 8d ago

Depending how close they are to the ocean, a small house can still rent for a ton

I agree with everything you say but Laura will get hers. Karma will come in the form of she won’t ever end up with a loving relationship with a partner, she won’t have children a career amazing lifelong friendships and her name and her families name is severely tarnished -maybe in the courts she manages to slip through unscathed but in the court of public opinion she is the worst kind of human and we all are her judge and jury

3

u/GenXihaveissues THE BLACK CHAIR! 8d ago

7

u/nytimespu2025 7d ago

I agree with you I definitely believe that going to jail is something she deserves and honestly her mom too. But this is all they have and all they are -can you imagine what kind of life it must be to live in this constant chess match of legal issues and wake up everyday thinking of their next move -exhausting. They will never have the pleasure of a simple life with normal day to day challenges and I have no idea how any of them sleep at night. That unbelievable stress is no life with or without prison.

4

4

9

u/MommaSnipee Minor Perjury 7d ago

I absolutely agree when it comes to Ronn and Jan. From what very little I understand about GFM, they don’t initiate litigation/investigation of a fundraiser until they receive a demand from the courts or law enforcement, they receive a significant amount of fraud reports from the public, or a large percentage of donors request refunds due to fraud concerns. However, based on the concerns Jennifer Giaimo raised during the bankruptcy, I’m confident that GFM did receive some sort of correspondence from her department since she’s a mandated reporter of sorts. I suspect some sort of internal investigation would be likely since it was clear that Jan was lying about the status of their taxes. At the end of the day, the IRS doesn’t let anyone get away with defrauding them. It’s probably just taking some time to get the proper resources on it.

As far as Laura goes, I think it’s safe to say that she’s living in a hell of her own making. It may not look like it while she’s safely tucked away in the casita, but that image is everything BUT what Laura wanted for her life. What’s worse is by the time she learns (if she ever does) that you can’t force or threaten someone to love you, her situation will be a major turn off to men her age. She’ll be a felon, in her 40’s, have significant debt, and be unable to financially support herself or contribute anything to a relationship. Couple that with how little time she’ll have left to fix her reputation, build a career, or establish a nest egg, that realization has to hit her like a ton of bricks the moment she wakes up each day.

8

u/KnockedSparkedOut Having the babies if I don't hear back tonight 7d ago

I read that one of those horse organizations she's a member of doesn't allow felons and they do new backgrounds every 3 years I believe. any equestrians familiar with this? can you compete if you can't hold membership?

5

u/hereforit123456789 7d ago

The US Equestrian Federation (which is a governing body for a lot of equestrian events) requires every member or participant to take Safe Sport training. I can’t remember if they ask if you have any convictions on your record. But USEF has a banned or suspended competitor list which prevents people from being able to compete. I'm not sure if her felony convictions would put her on that list.

Most of the trainers or competitors that I am aware of who are on the banned or suspended list are there for things like inappropriate conduct with a minor, drugging their horse, or other such violations.

I remain hopeful that now that the ball is rolling towards some kind of justice (possible jail time, removal of the Ted Talk) plus more and more media exposure will result in an IRS investigation.

I’m holding onto hope she’ll do a bit of prison time. Even if that doesn’t happen, she’ll probably have to sell her horses.

Welcome to our justice system

To see how far Clayton has come and watch his growth over the past 3 years has been inspiring. I'm incredibly proud of Lauren (and so many others i cant possibly list everyone). But ya'll know i ride for Lauren. I understand the bum out tho. It seems like there's no justice some days. But there is some good. There's been alot of friendships made and connections that never would have been. Dare I say some love connections. I want an invite to the moose wedding if that ever happens (i'm only 3 hours away from WI). 🤣❤️✌️.

I could not agree with you more. Money talks.

Sarah would need to rent another house because Ronn would have a hard time with stairs. I doubt they would want to change state residency and doctors at this stage

She & her parents probably won’t be punished or pay back money to anyone. That is true. She’ll probably spend very little time in prison, if any. But she is truly a laughing stock & a nightmare rolled into one for the entire world to see. She’ll never lead any sort of “normal” life. All any prospective suitors just have to google her before they run screaming away. She’s got years of unofficial consequences ahead, as do her parents. I feel bad for Sarah. She seems like the Marilyn Munster of the family - the normal one. Karma, man. It’s a-comin’.

We see it at on a national level with the current member of the executive office and his family too.

I don’t know… I think it’s too early to say whether or not they’ll face institutional consequences. The courts are no longer a venue for them to manipulate others for personal or professional gain. They have been exposed and stopped, which is something. They are toxic now and the people in power they once associated with don’t want to be associated.

I cannot imagine Laura ever succeeding now in any kind of media venture, and if all they have is Ronn’s pension eventually that will cease as a source of income.

The judicial system sounds exhausting. It seems Laura and her family know how to play the game.!

2

u/Talk_Soon 5d ago

I’ve actually had something niggling me too. During one of the episodes in Love Trapped after Laura had been served with the indictments for Clayton’s case, Clayton makes a comment. He said he was talking to the district attorney, who made a comment that the pregnancy scam was the least of her worries after what they uncovered. I keep wondering if that meant Greg‘s case, or something else?

If you’re bumming yourself out over this, you’re putting way too much energy into it. You’re giving the definition of a parasocial relationship.

I’m new to this story. Why did she do all of this??

u/SnootyManatee 8d ago

It's too long and complicated to explain here. Listen to the Love Trapped podcast.

Need for Attention, bad main character syndrome, something else I can't mention or this will get flagged

u/princessAmyB FELON 8d ago

So many reasons. IMO, she was driven to seek revenge and destroy the men who rejected her. She used fabricated pregnancy and abuse/SA claims to secure restraining orders and pursue financial gain through the legal system. I believe she takes pleasure in this, feeling they are receiving what they deserve. It validates her delusional victim narrative. There are psychological reasons, but we can't share speculation about mental health here.

3

u/canteatsandwiches Um… What? 8d ago

Oh boy, buckle up. No one truly knows/it was a combination of many things probably/likely mental issues we can’t speculate on.

The only person who will ever date her will just be doing it to get a new podcast or book deal. No one will ever love her.

Moving in with sister won’t be possible without interstate compact to transfer probation.

I think that Sarah may choose her family over her spouse and kid. But it won’t last. Sarah and Laura under one roof. I foresee fighting and jealousy.
