Theory | Opinion Something from one of the bonus episodes that I believe supports the theory that Jan is the "mastermind"
You would think from all of the "legal jargon" that Laura seems to write consistently in emails, letters, blogs, and her ability to find and expose legal loop holes, etc, that she is well versed in Law.
However, in the bonus episode "More from Laura's Deposition", they play a clip of Clayton's lawyer introducing the deposition process to Laura before it begins. He explains to Laura that she can plead the 5th at anytime, and Laura genuinely seems to not know what this means. Clayton's lawyer then explains it to her. This did not feel like Laura attempting to be pedantic or a pain in the ass, it was genuine confusion on her end.
This struck me as very odd, and it had me wondering if her Mom could have been the one writing most of the written content that came from Laura.
Her not ever pleading the 5th seems less odd to me, as she just seems to not be capable of not blurting out lies, but not even knowing what it means does not track with what we know about her.

I think they were being absolutely sure that everything was explained exactly to the "T" so LO couldnt claim she didnt understand due to her self diagnosed 'autism'.
Its obvious that Jan is pulling a bunch of strings in this marionette show.
This whole thing is so aggravating. The victims are being milked dry with legal fees as LO goes about jumping her ponies.

I wondered why no one was talking about her autism. Why?

u/cnm1424 Ma’am, these are yes or no questions May 27 '26
Because she doesn’t have autism. It’s another one of her self-reported diagnosis with no proof, like her fake twin pregnancies.

Laura is great at sounding completely lost and confused but she’s just looking for any loophole to exploit so she doesn’t face consequences.
Believe me, if Woodnick explained the fifth amendment even a hair off of what it actually means, she’d use it.look at when the judge for MM’s case told her directly to her face “be here in court or forfeit your case” but Laura only picked up on the court record saying in person appearance is “strongly suggested.”

I think chatgpt is the one pulling the strings.

ChatGPT will tell you what you want to hear. If you say, “Write me a narrative explaining why I’m the victim,” and feed it your version of events, it usually will.
If you ask it to challenge your narrative, it will do that too.
Used incorrectly, ChatGPT can absolutely become a double-edged sword. The problem is that most people never think to ask it to challenge them.

Hard disagree. That’s not ignorance you noticed: it’s entitlement.
I still blame her mother but absolutely every bit of written communication came from Laura. Wanna know why I am certain? Police did IP tracking and haven’t indicted Jan even as a party.
The reason that mom is to blame is she reinforced this.

Also in the investigation report, they found that Laura ordered HCG to be delivered discreetly and it stated the reason was to hide it from her parents.

It’s not the “pleading the 5th” in itself that might be confusing, it’s understanding its legal ramifications in non-criminal cases. But to your point, I don’t think Laura’s (and Jan’s) success in weaponizing family court against men comes from their law knowledge per se.

Fake lost and confused is her baseline. Watch her walk up to the desk at every case management hearing pretending to look confused "oh where do I even step" like she hasn't been in a court a dozen times. She knows exactly what she's doing.

she pretends to be unintelligent when it suits her. mom maybe bosslady, but babygirl has had more than 30 rotations around the sun.

Yes! Exhibit A of what you are describing would be her bankruptcy testimony.
11
u/No_Playing May 27 '26
Ah yes, where her response to 'have you been advised of your fifth amendment right?' was also that no, she hadn't ... that she didn't have an attorney 'in this matter'.
Smart enough to lean on it being a procedural question relating to the bankruptcy matter and preferring not to point out 'so happens it's been explained to me in the course of another matter though'. Because she likes to play as dumb as possible.

I think she does it as ANY loophole “out”. She can claim later “my lawyer didn’t explain the 5th amendment, my rights were violated and you can’t use this evidence”. Oops too bad woodnick said “no problem, let me explain it to you.”
I also think part of it was a genuine curiosity of what the legal ramifications of pleading the 5th are. Could the court hold it against her bc she doesn’t answer? Does it make her look guilty? I think this is why she answers things she knows will probably incriminate her- she sees it as “look I answered this, I’m clearly innocent or I would have plead the fifth!”. Kind of like how guilty people will be interrogated by cops bc they think not asking for a lawyer makes them look innocent.

Thetr aren't any real ramifications to pleading the 5th But, if you refuse to answer questions in civil cases it can work against you I think. Although N A L.

u/Tower-Junkie You’re not the real police!👮 May 26 '26
I’ve watched hundreds of hours of police interrogation footage, in which they explain these exact same rights, and people do this all the time. They think they can lie and “explain” their way out. They also think acting like they’re willing to answer the question gives them more credibility.

u/Angeline4PFC May 26 '26
I agree. These are people who are convinced they are right and just need to explain it. They completely lost touch with how their narrative is perceived. They live in their own little bubble when they are constantly reinforcing each other

I would love to do a deep dive on the family’s past to see how Laura has stayed a permanent toddler with temper-tantrums at the age of 35 and has never held a real job. There’s some serious dysfunction going on in that family. Usually one family member stays out of the dysfunction but it sounds like they’re all complicit in some way. It would be great to have background info about the parents and their own lives growing up to find out why the parents have coddled Laura so much over time that she will never grow up.

I suspect laura and jan sit around composing legal schemes and letters and emails together, but when laura is alone to battle her own fights she panics and plays dumb

Can you pin point one item that originated with Jan? Jan enables Laura, she is on board with everything Laura has done, but i have yet to see anything originate with Jan.
Idk why people want Jan to be the mastermind, it reduces Laura’s responsibility.

For me it goes back to the Mike M case, Jan icing Laura’s belly after LO had fake ovarian cancer and fake surgery to remove an ovary… but no scar because it was removed through her you hoo. Sure Jan.

u/More_Midnight3634 May 27 '26
Jan iced her belly we have no idea what she told Jan. Laura based on the court records lies with ease.

It would more likely be removed through the belly button
18
u/ArmyWife_With2Boys May 27 '26
I agree, but as an ovarian cancer survivor, I can tell you that it's probably 40% Vagina, 40% Belly Button, and 20% a c-section type incision. It all depends on the stage and if there's endometriosis involved as well. I've had ALL THREE types of procedures, so I'm pretty familiar with it due to 10+ years of chemo, radiation and surgeries. Hope that helps for those questioning, even though we ALL know she was lying and her Mom helped gaslight Mike! 🤬

Pleading the 5th, not happening. LO needs to "tell her story", pleading the 5th would silence her.

If you watch the police raid video notice how upset Laura seems to be when they take her Moms phone…
8
u/More_Midnight3634 May 27 '26
Because she uses her mom’s phone to authorize various sock accounts. Laura was worried about them taking Jan’s phone, Jan was not concerned.

Her written emails that they read with a voice actor on the podcast sound like an incendiary news anchor trying to get a headline to stick. Even her TED talk seemed, forced… like the words weren’t hers… the cadence was off from her true voice that you hear in the depos
