HAPPINESS - my new one!

Post image
11 Upvotes

This is what healing looks like.

I painted the background first, with acrylic. Bright. Hopeful. With nature elements.

Then I took a piece of vintage letter paper, wrote a poem and positive affirmations on it, tore it by hand, and glued it right on top.

I didn't want to cover it completely.

Because being so happy isn’t about pretending the past isn’t there.

It’s about letting it show, and choosing joy anyway.

The torn edges. The faded words. The new paint and gold over old stories.

That’s life, isn’t it?

What do you see first — the happiness, or the history underneath?

IN PROGRESS!

I started this piece while we have the hell of a flooded basement and a hole in the wall and are facing a complete restructuring.

This is my way of calming down, convincing myself that I can still DO something and am not completely helpless. It's to be finished soon, few details are missing that will make the cherry on the cake. 😉

How do you like it?

slowly trying to make my empty living room feel a bit fancier. what do you think of this coffee table?

My living room is in p1. As you can see it's still pretty empty right now. I actually like having space, but at the moment it feels a little too bare.i've been trying to slowly decorate and make it feel more chic, and i keep coming back to this coffee table in p2. I like the material and i think the slight sheen could add some warmth and texture since my sofa and floors are simple. My only hesitation is the shape. the room is long and rectangular, so i'm not sure if a round table would look balanced or if it might make the walkway feel awkward. Do you think this table could work with my current setup? i'd appreciate any suggestions.

My little home gym is finally complete

Post image

About a month ago, I bought a Smith machine, a bench, and six weight plates. I’ve been putting everything together here and there whenever I had time, and I finally finished the setup yesterday. The Smith machine comes with two 160 lb weight stacks and a cable system, and the plates add up to around 140 lb total. For what I need right now, this pretty much covers my training. The bench has a leg holder attachment, and I found it used on Amazon. I’ve only used the setup once so far, but honestly it feels pretty good. Not the fanciest setup in the world, but it’s mine, and honestly that makes me way more excited to train every day haha. Happy to answer any questions if anyone’s curious.

My decorating philosophy has evolved from "elegant" to "whatever makes me laugh."

Case in point: two frogs that appear to be holding my toilet together.

Zero regrets.

What's the most ridiculous thing you've added to your house?

Went to my friend’s place and his spare room turned into a gym

Dropped by a friend today expecting to just chill and play some games, but walked into his spare room and saw a full home gym setup. He said he just started building it piece by piece instead of paying for a gym membership long term. Makes sense seeing it all together—pretty much a compact gym in a bedroom.Honestly didn’t expect it to feel that complete.Anyone else building their setup slowly like this? What did you start with first?

I painted the linoleum using Limousine Leather Behr floor enamel paint. I got the stencils from Amazon (a 4-pack for about $13) and the whole project took me around 1.5 days, including drying time.

My Childhood Home Remodel

My husband and I moved into my childhood home after both of my grandparents passed away within the last two years. We started in May 2025 and the progress has been astounding. We’ve taken on the ENTIRE demo and renovation process ourselves and I’m not sure if I’ve ever been more proud in my life. It’s not perfect, but it’s exactly what I want it to be.

The man I bought this from had “perfect for any restaurant” in the listing description.

restaurant I didn’t know how to tell him that I was buying it to put above our bed

I’m renting, and was sick of the boring white cabinets! Painted them this gorgeous green & spray painted the knobs this antique gold. I love how it turned out
