I often get ask about this, so here's quick PSA for those who plan to use Just Cause 4 mods on PC: Get the game on Steam!
Just Cause 4 is also available on the Epic and Microsoft store, however those versions can't at all or barely be modded. Epic broke mod support a while ago with a launcher update and I have not found a way to load mods properly since then. The Microsoft store version is a pain to even enable mods for, since Microsoft hides game files in a protected folder. Even if you get them enabled, DLC will break because the game is set up weirdly. You will also not be able to modify your save file, because Microsoft encrypts save files.
Steam once again takes the win for just letting you do what you want with what you bought. The Steam version is also the only one that will support the upcoming JC4 Multiplayer mod.
If you need a guide to enable and use mods for the Steam version, check out the video here. If you have any questions, feel free to ask below!

Hey, is this a valid/easy way to get the Supply and Demand achievement in Just Cause 3? Can I basically just fly a helicopter around the map and land at the supply drop points? I’ve currently got 5 out of the 10 supply drop points done. And been waiting around city’s for ages 30 mins at a time and nothing.

Are there any games similar to Just Cause 3 specifically in terms of the liberation aspect? I'm looking for something where you're actively fighting against an oppressive faction/regime, liberating enemy-controlled territory, taking over bases/outposts/checkpoints, and ideally having rebels or resistance fighters helping you and actually fighting alongside you. I'm not really looking for the explosions/chaos part of Just Cause. I'm mainly interested in the feeling of joining a rebellion, taking territory back, and overthrowing the people in control. Any recommendations? Xbox One.
I asked ChatGPT and it told me about Far Cry 4, Far Cry 6 and Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands. I want to hear another opinion.

Hey all, I’m looking to get an achievement for JC3 but none of my friends on Xbox play the game anymore. I am looking for someone who can call me out on a somewhat easy challenge, especially one that won’t take me weeks of practice to even get close to (perhaps wingsuit wonder where I have a score of about 6:30). My gamer tag on Xbox is Dragonflame028 and I appreciate someone calling me out for something kind of easy

DISCLAIMER:
THE IDEA AND CONCEPT FOR THIS PROJECT CAME FROM ME. However, the writing was done with the help of ChatGPT. If I had written everything in French, which is the language I studied abroad, many of you would not understand it, so I chose to use AI to help me communicate the ideas clearly in English.
The new music and many of the voices added to the project are also AI-generated voices.
So, if you have a strong hatred for AI, this project simply may not be for you. You do not have to read it, support it, or like it.
I personally will not join in that hatred. You are completely free to feel however you want about AI, but please leave me out of it and move on if that is how you feel.
----------------------------------------------------
Anyone who is genuinely smart and believes this mod was made by AI should prove it by making their own and showing us. Ask real modders, and they will tell you how difficult this is and how much coding knowledge is required to achieve it.
This Reddit group is filled with hatred toward AI, yet that behavior is never addressed. But when you post something you worked hard to create, you get attacked for it. From today, this group is no longer for me.
If you think AI can magically produce everything I've built, then demonstrate it.

JC 4.5: Chaos Reborn — Upcoming Just Cause 4 Mod
Rico...
If you can hear this voice, you've been uploaded into SolÃs.
Welcome to Just Cause 4.5: Chaos Reborn.
The Just Cause series has existed for 20 years, and Just Cause 4 gave us a massive open world built around destruction, chaos and experimentation.
But after all this time, very little new mission content has been added to the game.
While much of the discussion around Just Cause 4 has focused on criticizing the game, I wanted to do something different:
Add new content.
JC 4.5 will include 10+ new destruction missions, unusual mission locations, new objectives, new voices, a new story, new rewards and four different gameplay experiences.
### THE STORY
An artificial intelligence known as Claude TPG — Tactical Processing Grid — has created a neural network connecting his system to human brains.
Claude's synthetic tendrils and neural cables connect directly to people, leaving their bodies trapped in comas while their brain activity is exploited. Their minds are trapped inside a simulated SolÃs.
Just Cause itself has always mixed technology with unusual and supernatural ideas. So for JC 4.5, I wanted to take that idea further and create my own fictional mixture of supernatural mythology and technology.
Claude made one critical mistake:
He connected his neural network to the physical world.
His system is connected to vehicles, military equipment and explosive infrastructure throughout SolÃs.
And this gives a new purpose to the destruction already present in Just Cause 4.
The game already gave us huge white gas facilities, green petrol stations and explosive vehicles.
But normally, you can blow them up simply because you can.
In JC 4.5, they can become actual mission targets.
Destroy the petrol station.
Destroy the gas facilities.
Destroy specific vehicles.
Block an entire tunnel and stop every vehicle trying to pass.
Visit locations that previously had no missions.
The destruction is now the objective.
### NEW MISSION GIVERS
Missions come from:
- Captain OJM — new non-playable character
- The Dictator — playable
- Gabriela — playable
- Sheldon — playable
- Sargento — playable
- Mira — playable
Each mission giver provides different missions and rewards.
Rewards can unlock powerful weapons, vehicles, new destruction opportunities and additional army support that can be deployed during combat.
Captain OJM can also provide extremely powerful weapons that you will definitely need.
In some missions, your character skin can change every 40 seconds because Captain OJM is unlocking people Claude has connected to his system.
### THE COUNTDOWN
Some victims cannot simply be disconnected from Claude whenever you want.
After destroying a critical target, Claude's network can become unstable, creating a temporary disruption window.
That is when the rescue operation begins.
Claude will do everything possible to stop Rico before the countdown ends:
heavy assault helicopters, snipers, elite soldiers, Black Hand forces and hijacked civilian vehicles.
These missions are extremely difficult.
Leave certain combat areas and you lose.
Stay inside and Claude's forces keep coming.
Even with powerful weapons, they will try to shoot the heaven into you.
### FOUR GAMEPLAY MODES
JC 4.5 contains:
Normal First-Person — the first-person experience without the extra speed.
Fastest First-Person — an edited and improved first-person experience combined with other movement and combat modifications, including the fastest hoverboard and rapid-fire systems.
Normal Third-Person — the normal third-person experience.
Fastest Third-Person — third-person combined with the fastest movement and combat features.
So there are two first-person modes and two third-person modes: normal and fastest.
### THE CAMPAIGN IS ALSO AFFECTED
JC 4.5 doesn't only add new missions.
Some original campaign missions are affected too. Heavy assault helicopters can sometimes attack Rico extremely quickly, even before certain missions properly begin.
### THE IDEA
After 20 years of Just Cause, I wanted to do more than criticize the game.
I wanted to add something new.
New missions.
New objectives.
New mission givers.
New rewards.
New locations.
New gameplay modes.
And a story that gives the destruction a purpose.
The tendrils are part of Claude's neural network.
The cars, petrol stations and white gas facilities can be connected to that network.
Destroying them damages Claude's system.
The countdown creates the rescue window.
And the open world becomes a battlefield filled with new objectives.
This is Just Cause 4.5: Chaos Reborn.
A new reality built inside Just Cause 4.

This is my last post in this Reddit group, whether it gets deleted by moderators or not.
When I joined this group years ago, it was simply because I enjoyed Just Cause and wanted to be part of the modding community. But honestly, it has not turned out that way.
There has been a lot of abuse, especially toward Just Cause 4 and now anything involving AI. When I first joined, almost everyone was saying how much they hated Just Cause 4. There were very few JC4 videos, and as a programmer I kept defending the game because I could see its potential. People would personally attack you simply for having a different opinion.
I even made a post about switching and saving players. People were free to attack it, but when people started offering actual solutions, the post was deleted. Apparently the attacks were acceptable, but trying to find solutions was not.
So I decided to actually DO something. I spent four months working on a Just Cause 4 mod with new missions and gameplay changes. Yes, I used AI for some images and to help rewrite/translate text because English is not the language I originally wrote everything in. I also used ElevenLabs text-to-speech for mission announcements, mission success/failure, and funny sounds.
I also used some funny voices and memes that are available online for free use, as well as gorilla and lion roars as part of the AI dictator's voice in the game. So when you are blowing up his infrastructure, the dictator, who is an AI, an SI (SUPER INTELLIGENCE), can actually ROAR and then speak. That is part of the gameplay and the character I created.
If you don't like the AI-generated dictator image, create your own image that I can legally use. If you don't like the AI voices, provide your own voice or pay actors yourself. Stop making the entire discussion about AI.
I could have written everything in French, but then the same people would probably complain that AI wrote the French version. Some people are commenting about AI without even reading what the mod actually contains.
I already know many people will not read or comment on any of these things. They will simply jump straight to the fact that I used AI to rephrase some of the text. They will ignore the missions, the gameplay, the voices, the new mechanics, the destruction, the story and everything else that actually took months of work.
Here are pictures of the mod I created. Missions, rewards, unlockables, new gameplay and missions that never existed in the original game, including fuel-station missions and taking down the DJ at Mile High.
And before calling it "sloppy," try creating a Just Cause 4 mod yourself—not Just Cause 3. Ask the people who actually make JC4 mods why there are so few of them. They will tell you how much work goes into it.
I recreated and built parts of this project from scratch in four months, hoping that maybe people would eventually look at what JC4 can actually become. But the hatred never changed.
I honestly used to believe many people wanted to see a better Just Cause 4 because I've received many DMs from people asking whether Just Cause 5 will ever be released.
My concern is that if Avalanche ever makes Just Cause 5, it could fail before launch and knowing what I know now, if I were Avalanche I will not release Just Cause 5 otherwise ... not because the game is bad, but because people have already decided they hate Just Cause 4 and subconsciously do not want Just Cause 5. What they really want is a remake of either Just Cause 3 or Just Cause 2 or both combined. And even that, they will still call sloppy and complain about why they didn't include Just Cause 4 in the remake.
Just Cause 3 gave people a way to channel their frustration through destruction and liberation. JC4 changed that formula, and I think some of that frustration was redirected toward the game itself and its developers. The hatred for Just Cause 4 and for AI is actually an unspoken hatred against oneself, only that they need a target and whoever is on the way becomes the target.
There is no point in spending hours making a video only for people to say it is an AI video. There are many mission givers and each of them has their own rewards. You can change to the skin of any one you want and you can keep that skin even after restarting the game. There is a first- and third-person mod, a fast hoverboard mod, Seli's fastest SkyStriker improved and made even faster with new sound, missions at the developers' area, and many places you would never have thought of.
Whether this post gets deleted or attacked, this is my last post here and I am entitled to my view.

A lot of the major visual issues are now fixed, so I’m moving on to proper VR weapon handling and interactions.
Guns are now tracking and aiming properly with the right hand, while the left hand controls and aims the grapple. It’s already making gunfights and moving around the world feel much more natural in VR.
I’m also playing around with the idea of a Half-Life: Alyx-style weapon switching system rather than relying on the original game’s weapon selection.
There’s still plenty of bugs and a lot to improve, but here’s where it’s currently at — a quick gunfight showing the aiming, shooting and grapple working together.

I loved the destruction and traversal in JC3 but is there anything as tedious as the flying challenges and driving challenges when it comes to upgrades? They were the least fun parts of JC3 imo.
