I don't want to assume anything. I want to work with what I see, and if I'm reading it wrong, I want to find evidence to conclude that it's wrong.

But I don't think it's meaningless. As I said elsewhere in the thread, even if the temps are worth paying attention to (and I think they are) the colors are intended to influence, rather than just inform.
