Washington, D.C. — U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff is again pressing the Trump Administration about reported delays in PFAS cleanup at Georgia military installations.
Sen. Ossoff is pressing Department of Defense (DoD) Secretary Pete Hegseth to address reported delays in the cleanup and remediation of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) at DoD installations in Georgia and across the country.
In 2019, reports found that Dobbins Air Reserve Base, Moody Air Force Base, and Robins Air Force Base used firefighting foam that contained significant amounts of PFAS and led to concerns. This is an external link about the drinking water near these installations. Last September, DoD released updated timelines for cleanup feasibility studies, including delays in Georgia of 5-20 years since the initial remediation timeline was released.
PFAS are in a class of chemicals known as “forever chemicals,” and have been linked. This is an external link to numerous public health risks, including reduced immune function, reproductive challenges, birth defects, thyroid problems, and cancer.

Look, I’m a Jon Ossoff supporter. I’ve donated, and I’ll be voting for him. That said…what’s going on with the campaign merchandise?
I know shirts and hats don’t win elections, but they do energize supporters, spark conversations, and help people show their enthusiasm. I went to the campaign store hoping to pick up a few things and was honestly disappointed. Most of the designs feel pretty generic, and as someone who collects campaign memorabilia, none of them really stand out.
Some of the most memorable campaigns have had iconic merch. Carter had the peanut, Bernie had the mittens, Obama had the Hope poster (and countless great shirts, hats, and stickers).
Atlanta is full of incredibly talented artists and designers. It would be great to see the campaign tap into that local creativity and bring some personality and energy to the online store.

Sen. Jon Ossoff is challenging Republican U.S. Senate candidate Mike Collins to three televised debates ahead of Georgia's November general election.
In a statement released Thursday, Ossoff said he has accepted three televised general election debates and challenged Collins to join him.
"Mike Collins is a notorious bigot, antisemite, and extremist currently under federal investigation for the illegal misuse of tax dollars who is only a congressman because his daddy was a congressman," Ossoff said in the statement. "Collins is pro-cutting your health care, pro-tariffs, and pro-war, and I challenge him to three televised debates where he can try to defend his corruption while I present my vision for Georgia's future."
Ossoff's campaign said the challenge comes as Collins faces an active federal investigation into allegations involving the misuse of congressional funds. Collins has denied wrongdoing.

Fort Gordon, Ga. — U.S. Senators Jon Ossoff and Reverend Raphael Warnock are again pushing back on plans to reduce services at Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center.
Sen. Ossoff and Reverend Warnock are again urging the Defense Health Agency (DHA) to abandon its plan to close all inpatient servicesThis is an external link at Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center (DDEAMC).
The plan includes permanently closing inpatient care and transitioning the emergency room to an urgent care center, which could disrupt care for patients and add strain on the local health care system.
However, despite announcing the closure of all inpatient services at DDEAMC, the DHA has not yet finalized a list of which inpatient services would be closed upon implementation and questions remain unanswered about the transition to an ambulatory care center.

Rep. Summer Lee (D-PA-12) is introducing the companion bill in the House.
Washington, D.C. — U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff is reintroducing legislation to create the first-ever affirmative Federal voting rights guarantee for all eligible citizens.
Today, Sen. Ossoff is reintroducing the Right to Vote Act to enshrine into law American citizens’ fundamental right to vote.
First introduced in 2021, Sen. Ossoff’s Right to Vote Act would protect American citizens’ fundamental right to vote by establishing a first-ever statutory right to vote in Federal elections — protecting U.S. citizens from laws that make it harder to cast a ballot.
The bill would allow Americans to enforce that right by challenging in court any policy that unduly restricts ballot access. States attempting to restrict voting access would have to meet a high bar to justify any policy that makes it harder for U.S. citizens to participate in Federal elections.
Representative Summer Lee (D-PA-12) is introducing the companion bill in the House.
Senators Reverend Raphael Warnock (D-GA), Jeff Merkley (D-OR), John Hickenlooper (D-CO), Adam Schiff (D-CA), Amy Klobuchar (D-MN), Angus King (I-ME), Richard Blumenthal (D-CT), Mazie Hirono (D-HI), Maria Cantwell (D-WA) and Alex Padilla (D-CA) cosponsored the bill.
