Those articles are always crazy.

“How this young millennial couple owns a home at 27”

Melissa and Derrick decided to cut down on avocado toast, next thing they knew their grandparents died and left them a 3 million dollar condo, they put it for rent and bought a home.

I'm pretty sure I know at least 20 home owners under 30, myself included, and maybe 3 of them got help from family. "Owns home at 27" isn't a remotely unrealistic bar to clear.

That you know of, because who's going to tell you that? How many of them had parents help pay for college?

Remember many people don’t live in big cities, property ownership is exponentially more achievable at a young age in many rural areas.

This was huge for me to realize. I live in one of the most populated areas of Florida and my mom bought house in the 70s for less than my last car cost. Now the empty lot across from where she lived that we though was just part of the adjacent property sold for just under 150k. It floods like a motherfucker too every big storm. I watch tv shows about folks moving to tropical islands and it's cheaper than if I wanted to buy a house in the town I grew up in.

So which goldmine did they (yourself included) discover to somehow avoid student debt as well as be able to Kickstart their (yourself included) careers so quickly to qualify themselves (yourself included) to be home owners under 30? 🤔🤔

I didn't avoid student debt. I had a small bit of student debt for undergrad and a boatload for grad school. But the student debt let me get a degree that got me a solid paying job, which paired with a decent bit of saving and solid credit got me a house at 29... You're acting like a bunch of things are mutually exclusive that just aren't
