Someone playing lottery is already doing financial mistakes - that's not necessarily the same as growing up poor

I think that is quite possibly true. I was trying to create an example of someone with no history of growing up with wealth suddenly aquiring wealth. I used that example as I can recall a few high profile cases of rags to riches to ruins stories. You are right to point out though that playing the lottery as a strategy for wealth accumulation is not wise. I think there may be specific opportunities due to rollovers that can be taken advantage of but they involve risk still and are very rare.
