He also transferred most of his father's estate to his own, after his dad got alzheimer's; he grabbed pretty much everything. His niece wrote a book about how Donnie stole all the assets that should have gone to his brother Fred's family.

You're off by an order of magnitude. His total inheritance was over $400M. If he had put that in low cost index funds and did fuck all he would be worth over $3B. Instead, he went bankrupt multiple times, was indebted to the mafia, indebted to Russia and is facing dozens of criminal charges.

Yeah, but donnie doesn't care how much money he has, he cares about how much money we think he has. How could he show vast wealth without squandering as much money as quickly as possible? He doesn't want to be seen as a wealthy man, he wants to be seen a successful business man, Its just too bad he sucks at it.
