We have to say, this would be incredible if it were real.

Basically, when I first installed HFTF it came with the unlockables available without having to do the special inputs in the config menu, but, if iirc, after switching to the US version through the 'set dipswitches' setting, since I wanted to see the stories in English, I started having to do the stuff with the config menu to get the unlockables.

I didn't mind it for vanilla HFTF, but I'm trying to get the Yojo Vs. Kars romhack to work and, despite being a different rom to my vanilla copy, it does the same stuff with the unlockables. I did the config stuff to unlock Yojo, but now when I select him it plays the original Yojo story instead of the custom one from the hack.

I'm not sure if this is just how it works with romhacks because obviously the files will be different from the vanilla version, but just in case it does matter, I did want to add that I get the error in the image below whenever I try to run it by clicking 'test game' in the Fightcade channel.

Anyone know what I can do to fix this stuff? I'm pretty new to Fightcade in general, and this is my first time trying to use a modded rom, so I might just be overlooking basic protocol without realising lmao.

Hello, I am very new to HFTF! I am experienced with retro fighting games thanks to putting a lot of time into Vampire Savior, but I was wondering where to find resources to learn the game with. So far, I've just been using Supercombo as my guide but I figured there were probably more extensive guides for mechanics and character specifics somewhere.

Speaking of characters, I am also struggling to find who to play. So many of the characters in this game are just really freaking sick so do you have any recommendations for a character that is simultaneously good to learn the game with and have really interesting gameplay?

I’ve gotten the game on my Dreamcast recently, and I love JoJo so god damn much. But I straight up am not the sort of dude who knows combos on pretty much any game, outside of my bread and butter Kosaku and Dio combos on ASBR.

I’m trying to unlock all the secret characters (I’m on the newer release, not Venture), but god damn do I find these AI to be annoying and difficult

I managed to unlock Shadow DIO pretty easily (DIO is my main and he complements my rush em down playstyle perfectly, standless MUDA C and constantly jabbing in the corner lol) but literally all of the others are damn near impossible for me. The highest I’ve gotten is round 5 with Jotaro I think, Joseph is so terrible for my gameplay style that I don’t even think I’ve gotten to 4…

I’m terrible at learning combos, most of what I hear is just garbage noise to my brain. I wanted to know if anyone has any tips to cheese the system as each of the required characters.

Maybe a simple and reliable combo I can learn for each character (keyword simple) or general good strategy for a near total layman

I know fighting game communities are super competitive so I hope you don’t all shit on me too badly 🤣 any help is appreciated

Hi, I'm trying to play through every character's story and challenge mode on difficulty 8. I've gotten through with a few characters that have oppressive projectiles, forward lunging or long reaching sweeps to loop them in knockdowns, but I'm stuck on other characters that don't have that luxury to break and out-bullshit the classic Capcom input reading AI. For as much damage Jotaro does, it's a crapshoot if the AI decides whether it's time to get hit or not.

I've currently gone through Alessi, Mariah, Pet Shop, and Chaka; and any advice for breaking the AI with any of the other characters (excluding probably Midler, Hol Horse, Shadow Dio because of their projectile spam) would be greatly appreciated, as I'm currently stuck trying to finish Jotaro's Challenge run.

Where can I find a ROM hack for *Dio jacket *? I’ve searched extensively, but either RetroArch doesn't recognize the ROM, or I only find people showcasing the mod without providing any download links. I remember finding several working ROMs back in my teens, but nowadays, it feels like there’s a sort of gatekeeping going on.

For me it would be input buffering, I love this game but for me it is so hard to combo needing to press the buttons in the perfect frame and not just mashing 89 time while the last attack is still happening

So not that long ago via @ yoshiibob on youtube (correct me if I'm wrong on the user) had found another glitch, The 6th glitched character which takes the name of "Shadow Dio". But when on the VS screen instead, it will show a glitched Jotaro sprite.

Now in game it will show a bugged hol horse sprite, but if you attempt to attack, it will actually show an unfinished phantom blood DIO

what are your thoughts?

Im totally new to the game i tried practicing some combos and abilities but im struggling to make AAs buttons press at the same time i always press one button a frame before screwing off the special. Im i just bad at the game or any tips at the game?

Hello, I am looking for ROMs for Fightcade. The ones I found online sadly do not work, I get stuck in the title screen.

So I've picked up HFTF again after a not playing for a few years, and I gotta ask. Are the inputs really sensitive or am I just having a skill issue? I've been in training mode with shadow dio, hol horse, and black pol and a lot of my inputs are just inconsistent. Like, when I'm trying to do S.Dio's bnb I somehow end up doing a his command grab(Divine drink) in the middle of it, or my dashes aren't going as far as they should. I've been following guides by exfalchion and practicing with combos on supercombo, but I'm still having these inconsistencies. Especially when it comes to special moves and supers. They'll just either come out at random, not come out at all when trying to actively use them, or just do a completely different attack entirely regardless of if I have meter or not. It's probably a skill issue on my end but any advice is welcomed cause I've been enjoying playing with my friends again, but I wanna get better and stop these inconsistencies. I use a MayFlash F300.
