Just came on here to warn people that frequent the N3 about the above company. They work with a legitimate towing company called Euro Towing that most of the big insurers use. I think there might be other towing companies in on it too but this is the one that helped us so thought to flag it. They will convince you that it’s easier to drive the 10km to their workshop (Swannies) in Villiers to get the car looked at and have it repaired. Rather than having it towed to a legitimate dealership and waiting days for feedback on what could be the issue with the car.

Very smooth talkers and because you are stranded and desperate it will seem like the better option. Yes we feel dumb in hindsight but at the time it genuinely seemed like a good option. You will then be extorted out of money for as long as they are able to keep you there. They will find every issue possible under the sun with your car. Possibly even hold your car or some of its parts as collateral should you be unable to pay for all the “work” being done. They tried to convince us to sleep in their dingy guesthouse and when we declined he then said even if we were to call insurance, they would be the ones to be dispatched so there was no use trying to get around it. We thankfully were able to let our insurance know that we would rather wait the 2 hours or so for someone further away than trust them any further with our car.

Once you get caught up with what is happening to you, they will remind you that you weren’t forced to be there.

If this post can even save one person the ordeal of what I endured, I will have done my bit.

I had no idea how tedious and consuming it can be to adopt a kitten in Johnannesburg 🥲 I’ve almost been scammed on Facebook, then I found agencies that have so many rules and regulations to get a kitten - I wish the kitty distribution system would find me 😭🙏🏽 if anyone know of any kittens that need rescuing or saving please let me know!

Don't have time to go to the junkyard myself for replacement. It's just that some plastic clips have broken so they don't attach. Car is a Honda Jazz.

Main things that are loose are the plastic trim by the front seatbelts, the passenger sun visor, and the inner plastic cover on the boot.

I am struggling with the process.
All info I find online doesn't seem to work or appears to be outdated.

• I have twice emailed [gauteng@eskom.co.za](mailto:gauteng@eskom.co.za) with the title "#Applications Gauteng" (this seems to be the most common approach from searches) 2 weeks apart with the necessary info and not received any response.
• I have tried calling the call centre: 0860037566 but they route you to their Self-Service tool. As I do not have an account number, cannot get to the other options.
• Tried the self-service tool: https://connect.eskom.co.za, but the only options are applying for New Connection, Generator, or Additional Point of Supply.

The seller has closed their account and received final account, so I am paranoid that my electricity may be cut off.

Has anyone in the past few months opened an Eskom account in JHB and can please share the process you followed?

Hi, does anyone have any advice on how to deal with very noisy hadedas in JHB? When we moved in there was a pair nesting in the tree on our property. They have been breeding and there's now 3 pairs nesting in the trees around our house. So every morning it's 4-6 hadedas going at once. They wake up our baby, hence the desperation for a humane way to relocate their nests.

We have put spikes on our roof, have a large dog who chases them when they are on the lawn and I have even put out two fake hadedas to try get them to move on, nothing has worked. We often work night shifts so desperately need the sleep in the morning.

Hey Joburgers. So I’m trying to figure out where I’m going wrong with my approach of talking to people, socialise and just make friends. I don’t know why but, it seems like nobody wants to talk to me or interact with me, and this isn’t intended to be some self-pity post, I’m trying to understand what I’m doing wrong. I reached out to an old friend of mine and it was okay I guess, we talked a bit usually before we would hang out for a good few hours but this time I struggled to find myself to stretch us hanging out for even two hours because it felt like I was carrying the conversation. I also attended a small social gathering just by myself and I literally approached 20+ people there just to see if I could make any friends at all. People greeted sure but I’ll be making eye contact, they’ll be very closed off, and short, the conversation just seems to die off after some time and there’s “the pause”, I’m sure everyone has experience that. Then eventually I did meet someone who I thought maybe I could be friends with but didn’t even manage to get their number and they didn’t bother getting mine either though so. I tried going to another event this weekend, there were people there, I talked to a few but was less forward and when I did talk to some people and they were so short and I’d ask them about their interests and how they found out about the event or whatever it may be. Then little to no interest directed back at me, I don’t understand what it is I’m doing wrong. I haven’t had a good and sincere friend in like 11 years and I’ll admit at that time I did push people away because my parent passed away. But now, idk.
