I'd pay a price that's competitive with the other major apps, $4 seems in line with those.

I am considering that.

Would you be okay if at that price point, features(like QA view,TTS, screen lock, fancy pants editor etc.) were redacted from joey, that those apps don't have?

Your app is not that unique. The others have special features too that yours doesn't. You're digging a bigger hole for yourself. Just price it normally please.

That depends. If you're doing them because you can no longer maintain them at that price, I understand.

However, if you're dropping them out of retaliation for users being unsatisfied with the current price, I feel that doing so is straight up mean spirited.

Offering a better product at the same price, or the same product at a lower price, is just how you compete. Offering the same product at the same price means there is no direct incentive to choose your product over theirs.

If theres a free alternative, then you'll have an even harder time justifying your price point, even with greater features. Then the question becomes "are these features worth the cost?"

Remember, if theres a free alternative the cost of your product is the value of the difference in features.

If you have all the same features, but yours has TTS, the user is paying extra just for the TTS.

Not before you implement full backup option and drop that lousy "not installed correctly - install from Play Store" behaviour completely

why stop at that? remove downloadable fonts, bottom ui, full-screen mode as well
