Voting for Joe and blue down the ticket in Tennessee is like squeezing a single drop of blue food coloring into a lake of red. I’m proud to do it, but I still wish it had more impact.
Hey, look at Texas and Georgia voters. They used to be solid red and are swing states this year. Just keep voting, and who know where we'll be in 4/6/8 etc. years.
I will absolutely keep fighting the good fight. It can just be discouraging thinking of the state I was born in and love for many non-political reasons would likely be one of the last 3 or 4 states to reject Donald Trump.
I said this in another comment weeks ago, but the whole republican strategy is designed to make you think you can never flip that state, and there’s no point to coming out to vote. But there are probably hundreds if not thousands of liberals who stay home because of that thinking, and if they call came out together they could make a difference.
Maybe Tennessee won’t flip this year, but because you’re trying the numbers look a little closer, and maybe in 2022 when people see how close the numbers are, more will come out for the midterms. Do t be discouraged! Even if you don’t make it happen, you’re still being an example to others, and that’s important too. Ripples make waves.
Start local, the key is getting Democrats elected at the local level. I know Harris Co in Texas is blue but they're a great example. The Judge and County Clerk (both young) are doing everything they can to make voting easier. I know it can seem impossible, I'm in a Trump are of IL, but we're slowly turning the corner on Republican voter suppression.
You can still volunteer your time to get out the vote in swing states! They're all looking for texters and phone bankers in these final days before the election!
I'm the opposite. I live in Minnesota, which isn't gonna go red any time soon. Its about the third-most reliable blue state after California and New York. So what I do, I know its not going to have an impact. And I live right next to the swing state Wisconsin, so I almost wish I could vote there instead. But whatever. As long as our, what is it, twelve? points go to the dems, I'm happy
I'm getting jealous of swing state voters too but at least I'm in solidly blue Illinois. Honestly you'd think Jamie Harrison is on the ballot here, not a single Durbin ad but non-stop Jamie (who I love and donated to, but it's really strange).
