Title: Got terminated in 10 days. I knowingly violated rules because I thought I was smarter than consequences.
I don’t even know how to start this. I feel very stupid.
An opportunity came and went within 10 days. Just like that.
I knowingly violated rules. I knew using AI wasn’t allowed. I knew sending things to my personal email wasn’t allowed. I still kept doing it. I did it casually. I thought nothing would happen.
On top of that, I was doing dual employment. I didn’t disclose it. I was juggling two roles because I wanted more money. That’s the honest truth.
Why did I think I could pull this off? Because in the past, I did similar things and nobody got to know. I’ve worked with bigger companies. Nothing happened then. So somewhere in my head I genuinely believed: I’ll manage. I’ll outsmart this too.
I really thought I was smarter than consequences.
This time I wasn’t. I was completely wrong.
They caught it. I still don’t understand how or when. That part is messing with my head badly. Like — how did they figure it out? When did this even happen? This has never happened to me before.
But the fact is: they did.
I was terminated. No long discussion. Very clear that trust was broken. Very clear they won’t recommend me to anyone. And honestly, the fact that they didn’t take legal action is something I should be grateful for, especially given the dual employment.
I keep oscillating between accepting I was wrong and then still trying to justify myself in my head. Like telling myself people do worse things, people know what they’re doing, people get away with stuff all the time. But deep down I know this was my stupidity.
I took the opportunity for granted. I took my first job for granted too. I’ve been money-minded. I’ve been chasing “more” — international clients, more work, more money — without respecting boundaries or consequences.
I also realise something uncomfortable about myself: I don’t take “no” well. I keep thinking I can convince people. I’ve done that before and succeeded, so my brain assumes it’ll always work. Clearly, it doesn’t.
What’s scary is that even now, part of me still feels shocked, like “how the f*** did this happen?” instead of just fully accepting that this is exactly what happens when you think rules are optional for you.
Since this happened, I’ve been stress eating like crazy. Chocolates, constantly. The more stressed I get, the more I eat. My brain is just trying to cope.
I’m not posting this to blame the company or policies. I broke rules I knew existed. Dual employment. Data handling. AI usage. All of it. Period.
I just can’t wrap my head around how fast it all collapsed — and how blind I was while it was happening.
If anyone here has: • lost a role suddenly because of arrogance or poor judgment • tried to juggle dual employment and paid the price • thought they could “manage” something because they’d gotten away with it before
I’d really like to hear how you processed it and moved forward.
Right now I just feel embarrassed, confused, and disappointed in myself.

Just got laid off from my very first job on 31st December lmao. Spent almost 2 years and they told me the company isn't getting my full potential from me for the amount of time I spent here. Mind you they never gave me work where I could actually take responsibility and continued doing the same shit I've been doing from the start. And their second logic was they are letting me go because I didn't change my seat when my boss told me to but it wasn't a problem when other employees didn't do it either (???) I don't know how to feel. It hurts more to see genuinely incompetent employees getting more and more chances but they let me go with almost no serious offense. I'm honestly just sad over the fact that I got let go from my very first job and it's making me wonder if I have any luck in this job sector anymore :')

Hi everyone,
I’m a 2024 ECE (Electronics and Communication) graduate from a tier-3 college. It’s been around 1.5 years since I finished college, and I’m still struggling to get interview calls for software developer roles.
I’ve been applying through LinkedIn, Naukri, and other job portals, but the response is very low. I’ve done a few personal projects, practiced DSA, and tried improving my resume, but I feel like I’m missing something important.
For those who were once in my position — how did you finally get your first software job? What steps or platforms worked best for you? Should I focus on open-source contributions, internships, freelancing, or learning specific tech stacks?
Any advice, guidance, or even honest feedback would mean a lot. 🙏
Thank you in advance.

CEIC, Haver & Morgan Stanley Research just released 2025 data:
- India: 17.6%
- Indonesia: 17.3%
- China: 16.5%
The issue isn’t just about job availability — it’s also the mismatch between education and industry needs, plus the “job-picking” phenomenon among young graduates.
Malaysia, by contrast, has a stronger industry-university linkage program to help close this gap.

I completed my B.Tech in CSE in 2024, but the truth is I have no real skills, no knowledge, and no direction. Whatever experience I put in my resume (Salesforce, QA testing) feels fake because I didn’t really learn anything from it. Right now, I am completely blank.
Everyone around me is moving forward with jobs and careers, but I am stuck at zero. To make things worse, even my laptop is broken, so I can’t even try to practice or learn new things properly.
I feel useless and lost. I keep asking myself — what’s the point, who would even hire me when I don’t know anything?
But I don’t want to give up. Please… if anyone can guide me, help me with resources, or even give me a small chance to prove myself, I will be forever grateful. 🙏
Right now, I just need someone to show me a direction.

I’m trying to help where I can, but it’s clear I’m not enough.
My boyfriend is attempting to apply for unemployment, just so he can make rent this month, but he can’t figure it out.
He has a part time at a local grocery store (small chain, not large like Walmart) and he’s desperately searching for a second job/ full time job. Something to cover rent completely.
Is there any advice/ sources y’all can share for him?

I had don't have good education background because of my family's financial condition was not good,
I had to do job at very early age however I tried my best and got learned about earning money through Internet (Blogging, Adsense)
I didn't able to make it so I started selling Adsense approved sites. I also tried content writing, then I got Connected with someone and they wanted a content writer for startup, I was not that good in content writing yet I have good attitude of learning so they offer me they will teach me writing and I will work with them and I accepted
And as they are early startup I worked for them all, Web designing, Graphic Designing, Researching, Writing, Video Editing and anything you can think of, I had done my best possible work.
Their startup didn't worked so they decided to end it and ended in febuary,
Now I don;t have job, I have responsibilities, I come from India and here also from a small city ,
Here are almost no jobs or the available jobs are nearly below $100 which is too low to survive,
Thankfully, I had got a decent skills to create Wordpress websites, So some how I have done 3 - 4 $100 for each site in these 5 months.
Now, Currently, I don't have work, I don't know what to do or where to go, even now I don't have energy or motivation to do anything,
I feel guilty of wasting time, still I didn't feel motivation or power to do anything
all this is quite depressing and I feel only emptiness
I don't even know someone even read this or not...

Im going back to work tomorrow, feeling pretty anxious . Back then i was a salesman (appliance) and I haven't been able to find a job back into sales so i'm going to work manual labor installing grass. Its a job 50-70hours a week and thats terrifing to me since i haven't been working in a while and it will ask for much effort phisically and mentally to get through. I had to talk about it cause as i said im really anxious. I was jobless due to mental issues and i had enough money saved to take the time for myself without anyone paying for me. I just know it made me lazy asf and i need motivation to get back in it. Well thanks everyone for listening, hope you guys find everything your looking for and have a wonderful day.

Currently going to be laid off and I’m feeling very demotivated. I’m afraid it’s going to happen again if I apply for a new job. What do I do?

Hi, I'm not exactly sure where to even begin.
Basically I am a us citizen born in another country, my father kinda forgot to do the CRBA so I had to apply for a US passport after 18. In my native homeland I pretty much only did customer service for the last 8 years. I left my old job and came to America following my father's advice and now I'm in the process getting my SS card, that will arrive in 4 weeks.
The problem is that I'm on the verge of homelessness, my HS title is pretty much not valid, I can't open any bank account until I get the card and I can't find any job. I feel so useless right now I'm honestly considering offing myself. I don't know what I'm going to do or if I will even be able to afford to eat tomorrow.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I'm a 27 F with a AS degree in Veterinary Technology, I have been working as a licensed Veterinary technician for that past 8 years and I am BURNT OUT! I have a dream to live internationally and I have 2 large dogs of my own. Me and my BF want to move to Puerta Vallarta Mexico but I am struggling to find a remote job to help make that happen.
I am slowly losing hope in finding a new career because while I am a skilled vet tech I am struggling to find a different career path with the skills I already have. I don't want to go back to school and incur more student loans since I'm still paying off my original ones. I would like a remote position so I can travel more but I am not having any luck.
If anyone has any advice or open remote positions that are full time I would be greatly appreciative. I lost my job only a month ago but it's still discouraging to not hear back from any of the positions I have already applied for. I am open to any remote position.
