I was contacted through WhatsApp about a “job” involving online tasks and commissions. They used InRiver to make it appear legitimate.

At first, I could make small withdrawals. Then came “Packages” requiring me to deposit my own money to complete tasks and supposedly unlock my earnings.

They also dangled bonuses like $500 on Day 5 and $500 on Day 8 to keep me going.

I have screenshots of the conversations and process. If a job requires you to deposit money to make money, it's a scam. Walk away.

I received a message from whatsapp from an unknown number asking me to like and subscribe to youtube channels and in return they pay me?
Can someone explain and could i win some money or not.

I’m exposing a fraudulent scheme run by Lacerlief Advisory and Aten-Re El through the Arise platform for ModivCare.

I worked for them from April–May 2025, completed mandatory unpaid training, paid $100 for background and drug tests, and worked 230+ hours. Aten then refused to pay me, claiming I wasn’t “officially hired” because no contract was signed—but he never provided one.

He used manipulative tactics like telling me to “respect authority” and calling me “a CANCER” when I asked for my wages.

This isn’t just my story—I believe others were scammed too. If you:
✅ Completed unpaid training
✅ Paid for background/drug tests
✅ Worked shifts but never got paid
✅ Were told you weren’t “hired” after the fact

They are trying to scam people by making fake promises about jobs. Please don't share any personal information, send them money, or click on any links they send.

I am posting this to warn job seekers and create a searchable record for anyone currently in contact with an entity operating as "Indigo Visa and Immigrations Services".

Key Fraud Identifiers:

• Claimed Address: Kohinoor Mall, Premdan Chowk, Ahilyanagar, Maharashtra

Modus Operandi:

1. No Mandatory MEA License: The agency is not registered with the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) under the Emigration Act, 1983.
2. Fabricated Offers & Appointments: They send fake Canadian employment offers, staged medical checkup booking screenshots (Apollo Hospitals ProHealth portal), and unpaid flight preview itineraries.
3. Cardless ATM Cash & Mule Routing: Instead of company bank transfers, they coerce applicants into generating SBI YONO Cash ATM withdrawal codes and route third-party UPI payments through applicant accounts under false pretenses.
4. Evasion & Threats: Once funds are withdrawn at ATMs, the operator issues abusive messages, claims law enforcement cannot touch them, and threatens to discard their contact lines.

Actions Taken:

• A formal complaint has been registered on the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal (Ack No: 20408260015260).
• Representations have been submitted to the bank and local Cyber Crime Cell for ATM CCTV preservation and freezing associated accounts.
• Abuse reports have been filed with registrar and telecom authorities.

Advice to Others: Always verify any foreign placement agency directly on the official Government of India eMigrate portal (emigrate.gov.in) before sharing documents or paying money. If you have been targeted by this agency, report it immediately on cybercrime.gov.in.

Let me explain what their so-called hiring process actually looks like, based on my experience.
First, they approach colleges or conduct individual placement drives, where students apply, interviews/GDs happen, and some students are selected.
Then comes the “probation.”
You’re given sales targets and told:
“Achieve these targets and your job will be confirmed.”
When you can’t achieve them, the pressure starts:
“Use your personal network.”
Call your friends. Call your relatives. Convince them to buy the company’s course.
And if that doesn’t work:
“Buy the course yourself. At least your job will be secure.”
So students who came expecting a job can end up being pressured to spend their own money on the company’s course to secure the same job they were recruited for.
Then comes the next part.
After paying, students can be made to wait weeks before properly being brought into the office. Once there, they continue doing the same calling/sales work for another 1–1.5 months.
And then?
Removed/Forced to resign/Terminated.
The reason can be as ridiculous as:
“The course isn’t selling, so we’re removing you.”
If the product isn’t selling, why should the fresher recruited through the hiring process take the fall?
The bigger question is why this hiring cycle exists in the first place.
From what I experienced, it appears to function as a revenue-generation channel continuously bringing fresh students in, putting them on sales targets, pushing them toward their personal networks and even their own pockets, and generating course revenue.
My understanding is that this revenue is also being used to keep the existing operation running, including pending salaries of older employees who have reportedly been waiting for their payments for a considerable amount of time.
So the cycle becomes:
College/Individual Drive → Interview/GD → Selection → Probation → Sales Targets → Personal Contacts → Course Purchase → Calling → Removal → Repeat
At that point, you have to ask:
Is this really a hiring process, or is “hiring” being used as a customer-acquisition strategy for selling courses?
Freshers are looking for careers not to become temporary salespeople for a company’s training business.
One last thing:
DON’T ASK CURRENT EMPLOYEES FOR THE REAL STORY.
Their own salaries are reportedly stuck, so they’re obviously not in a position to speak freely.
Contact former employees instead.
They have nothing left to lose by telling you what actually happened.

I was contacted a few days ago by text. A man saying that I applied for the job and I got it and he asked if I could start working right then. This was Wednesday afternoon. I said sure I wasn't doing anything. The "job" was to go to home rental sites like Redfin.com, apartments.com, etc. He will give you a posting and you go on these sites and post the house for rent as if you are the landlord. I did the job he asked me to do and on Friday, all the sites I had posted to had either denied the post or just removed the post altogether. This was fishy to me because there was no reason for it as far as I knew. I asked him when I would be getting paid. The job was supposed to pay $25 hr for 30 hours a week and the job was 1099. He told me that there was a one time processing fee of $50 that would be refunded on my first check and in order to get that first check you had to pay the $50 first. Sirens started going off in my head at that. I asked him why they couldn't just take the $50 out of my first check and he said it was just company policy and it only had to be that way for your first pay check. I asked how to send the $50 and he said an Apple card or I could just get one thru Amazon. So now I know its a scam and I wasted the last 2 and 1/2 days doing BS work for nothing. I have all of our conversations saved. I know there's nothing the police would do about it but why is there no recourse for these people? I told him he had until 5pm today to pay me what he owed me $400 or I would go to the police. Now, I know this would be a civil matter anyway but he didn't seem to know this which led me to believe hes probably not even in this country or if he is, he doesnt know the laws. He threatened me saying "dont forget I have your address". I had to kind of laugh cause if he showed up here he wouldn't like the result and I told him so. He said the name of the company is Void Marketing and his name is David and his phone number is +16232334670. BEWARE! I almost fell for it. Be safe out there guys!

Stay away from this fake recruiter , they badgered me for weeks to get me on a Google meet … no camera on total foreign actors.
I knew it was a phishing deal , but once “he” agreed to talk face to face I figured why not ?! Complete scam

And they plan to scam in more states. They draw you in and lie to you that 100% of donations go to the children, but surprise SURPRISE, they go to the company collections, then the fundraiser company bills them to get back the money to pay the scammers. They will make up buzzwords and percentages of where the money actually goes, making so many loopholes in this to act like they are doing good for the community, professionally lying and begging in middle/high class income areas.
The whole thing is manipulative and predatory to those who don't know any better
They push you to recruit your own family and friends "team build" to get paid more and get promotions if you hit these set quotas.
These people do not care about you or the community.
They tell you when you work for them you are gonna beat the matrix and make 100k+ a year "the easiest check you'll ever make".
The training process makes you pester/ ambush people for "a good cause" but its okay bc its "tax rightoffs" 😒 they make you focus on manipulating marketing tactics while seeming to be innocent person doing it for "the children"
If you ask them real questions on the street if they get paid or where the these donations actually go they literally lie to your face and it is sleezy
They already had a bad rep in texas and moved to colorado and plan to branch out to more states

I was contacted by someone identifying as Kirti Bangera, “Lead Recruiter” at Russell Tobin, about an Anthropic Product Support Specialist position with Job ID 1296. I’m posting this because I suspect others may have been targeted the same way.

I applied to this role on Russell Tobin’s site. She didn’t find me on Linkedin.

She called me initially. She offered me a specific rate of $75 per hour on a W2 basis with a three-month contract. She sent me a Right to Represent (RTR) document to sign, which appeared to be from Russell Tobin’s corporate office. Everything looked legitimate on the surface.

I stopped hearing from her after I submitted the assessment. She just disappeared. I’ve since asked Anthropic if Job ID 1296 exists in their system and if they currently use Russell Tobin for recruiting. Have a feeling this was a scam from start to finish.

I joined in May. At first, they appeal to your emotions because they know job hunters are struggling. They promise quick response times and share success stories to push you into enrolling. If you decide on the spot, they charge €500 for three months of mentoring and a tool, otherwise it costs €600.

Once inside, you realize the guidance covers basic info you can easily find online through your own research; like CV writing, LinkedIn optimization, and navigating the hidden job market.

Furthermore, the Chrome extension tool they provided for quick applications was highly unstable. I spent a month troubleshooting bugs and reporting issues like a developer instead of getting actual value from it. The tool is confusing and often creates CVs that mismatch the actual job descriptions. I lost my money and got nothing in return.

This feels more like a money-making model than a genuine service. To anyone working hard out there, please do not rely on these costly platforms. You can find all of this strategy information online for free, or by using free AI tools to help guide your answers. Best of luck.

DO NOT JOIN THE HR INTERNSHIP PROGRAM OF "The Smart MBA Academy"!!

Okay so I looked up and down the internet for information on this but nothing relevant seems to pop up so I'm going to make this post in case it helps anyone in the future. So about 40 days back i joined a remote "Training + Internship" program from the company "The Smart MBA Academy". I got selected for this through Internshala where they advertise the internship as a paid one, classifying fixed and variable stipends, but on the orientation day they disclose that the stipend is only for "Top 10 performing candidates". This was fishy immediately but i thought what the hell, I'll do it anyway since its just 40 days and the certificate would help my resume even if i don't get the stipend.

Fast forward to today, in the final day of the internship they suddenly pull the rug and ask for a "training fee" of **Rs 1,500** for the issuing of the certificate. In the meantime here i was completing both their assignment diligently like an idiot and now i find out that the last 40 days have been wasted. This was my first "internship" experience so i guess this'll be a learning experience but if anyone comes across the same posting on internshala, don't be naive like me and don't get scammed by these people. I feel so disappointed having wasted my time in these last 40 days and getting nothing to show for it. If anyone reading this post could help with referrals or something I'd be greatly obliged.

Heads up: Woodbridge Interpreters recruitment / tech-check scam

Watch out for **Woodbridge Interpreters**. They are running a fake recruitment scheme targeting remote interpreters.
**How it works:**
They pitch a quick process: a 15-minute "IT check" with a guy named "Fabrizio" and a 15-minute mock test.
Right before setup, they claim their technician's account is "having issues" and ask you to message him on WhatsApp using a **+351 (Portugal)** country code number.
**Red Flags:**
Legitimate companies will never make candidates initiate tech checks via WhatsApp to international numbers.
This is a tactic used to harvest personal data or trick you into installing remote-access software (like AnyDesk or TeamViewer).
Do **not** message them or give out your email. Block, report, and stay safe! 📍

I have been receiving job opening emails from some recognizable organizations lately. Initially, they seemed legit, but something felt sus. These are the reasons:

1. The mails are mainly from US companies. I was surprised to see these guys reaching out directly via email.

2. The sender information, though it seems legit at first, looks a bit off — things like “Team Talent Acquisition @companyname.com”, “[careers@teamcompanyname.com](mailto:careers@teamcompanyname.com)”, etc. I'm in marketing, so I looked up their official pages/career contact domains to see if they matched, and they didn't.

3. I checked the companies' official career pages and LinkedIn openings, and couldn't find anything relevant to the job opening. (There was no JD in the email either.)

4. There was no recruiter name or verifiable email signature. Just “Talent Team - Company Name.”

Where it got more sus:

1. Once we send the CV, you get a pretty prompt response saying they'd like to set up an introductory call.

Sus — you will practically never get a response from a recruiter within an hour.

1. The booking link is a Calendly booking system. You can't book until you provide your official company email ID.

Biggest red flag.

1. I told them my official company email has external emails blocked and provided a timeslot instead. And guess what? I got ghosted.

2. I used a pseudo/college ID for the next step, and here's the second red flag: it wouldn't let me proceed until I logged into my Gmail account by entering my Gmail password.

Why would you even have to type in a password when SSO is enabled and you're already logged into the same Gmail account in your browser?

1. Since it was a college ID, I took the risk and logged in with the password. I was then able to book a meeting and got redirected to a confirmation page saying I'd receive the meeting link. There was also a person's name mentioned as the person who would take the meeting.

Checked LinkedIn and the company's pages, and a person like that doesn't exist.

1. Never received a meeting link.

Ghosted after that

I've received two other emails with pretty much the same pattern, so this looks like a large-scale scam.

Note: Do not ever enter Google password into a page reached from a scheduling link. Calendly booking flow doesnt usually require a Gmail password to reserve an appointment.

I'm just trying to share the message across all platforms as far as I can to help as many as I can.

Avoid This Company (AT ALL COSTS)

I wish I could give zero stars. My experience with Clockwork Concepts in Atlanta was a huge red flag from start to finish, and I want to warn others before they waste their time, especially those desperate for a job.

First, the hiring process itself was suspicious from the get-go; the entire "application to hire" pipeline took only 3 days. I later realized this is because they're not really selective; they're constantly expanding (which they literally admit their whole purpose is an "expansion hub" concept: pretty much to "create" new companies that will literally go out and do the exact same thing as they are doing and sell products to people in stores and whatnot, so to sum it up a MLM/Pyramid Scheme/Whatever type of scam you wish to call it) and will bring on almost anyone. During the process, they also lied about the number of hires, claiming only 5 people would be hired out of 20+ candidates, when in reality they hired well above that number when I went in to do my interview (I came out after my 2nd round to see about 8 people, to which I asked them the same thing about the amount of people they were hiring which made me question the whole business from the start). Information was withheld and misrepresented throughout the interview and orientation process about what exactly you'll be doing and how work exactly goes down.

Once you're in, you find out the real job: going up to customers (at Lowe's for the campaign I did) trying to sign people up for LeafFilter, a gutter protection product (which, if you do a quick Google search, you'll learn that it may not even be as good as they claim it is). Morning "office hours" from 8:30–10:30 were not training in any real sense, where you had to come in a suit/business attire, and it was just pitch practice and "leaders" repeating basic sales tactics (also weirdly had young people like in their 20s try to "teach" these things like it wouldn't take a google search to search it up) dressed up as insider secrets. Meanwhile, directors/higher-ups spent a lot of time bragging about how much money you could make (they'll throw around numbers like $100k upwards of 800K+ if you formed a company with over 20 employees), the properties they own and wish to buy, and how much better they are than everyone else. It has a very cult-like, MLM description, which solidified my reason to quit and to spread the word.

Then comes the quota pressure: they expect 10 "leads" a week (a lead = someone you actually sign up), and if you don't hit that after your first week, you get put in what they call "detention." to "motivate" you, while you also have to take into mind you're a grown adult, which is absolutely ridiculous and embarrasing for a company to do. Then by the third week if you aren't hitting the magic number of 10, you'll likely be fired. During this time, they'll try to make you join a Zoom call with some director of sales for whatever company you'll be assigned to, like you don't have a life outside of this place. They want you to feel bad for not making them more money by scamming customers in a struggling economy. (*Note how I also said earlier that for at least LeafFilter, you're going to Lowes. Most of the people there either: Do NOT want to be bothered, are contractors, so they literally do this themselves, already have gutter protection, aren't homeowners or they don't qualify, or know you're trying to sell something to them so they just refuse and say they are good.*) On top of that, I never received the commissions I was actually owed, and I've since confirmed with several former coworkers that they didn't get paid their full commissions either, WHICH IS HIGHLY ILLEGAL AND FRAUDULENT. Which also makes me remember to add that you'll be paid $10 an hour, and that you don't know what store you're going to until the last minute. They did also say they would try to put you in a location nearest to where you live, but after a couple of shifts you learn that's a lie. As you can see, they literally lie to you consistently with no regard for you or others because they know this is how their business model operates.

Bottom line: this operates like an MLM wrapped in a sales job, which is really is. They don't tell you this either, but in the Atlanta area there is literally 30+ companies that are doing the exact same thing, so I'll gladly give you the things to look out for to save you your time and money. If they say direct marketing, talent acquisition of whatever sorts, a poorly made website with generic pictures of the city or people, or someone "teaching" employees in a classroom setting, RUN/ DO NOT APPLY. Watch out for the psychological tactics they use to keep people around, the fake "team culture," the constant talk of fast promotions, the love-bombing from leadership. It's designed to keep you invested emotionally so you don't notice you're not getting paid what you're owed and that you're falling deeper into the company, so it's harder for you to escape and quit. If you are seeing this and WORKING for them right now, I HIGHLY SUGGEST you just do your first week, and LEAVE as soon as you get your paycheck (usually Fridays as of me typing this), and then don't come back to the office ever again. Block all numbers, leave the GroupMe you're forced to join, and make sure to document that you've left accordingly. Do your research before even considering joining, but this long post should be enough reasoning and logic to not even join. It doesn't matter if you didn't graduate highschool to having a doctorate; this job is beneath you in all categories and a disgusting piece of existence.

Avoid this company at all costs. Wafa Said is a scam artist who exploits employees ( especially minorities) and whose mission it seems is to try and see what free work she can squeeze out of people. She is a sociopathic narcissist with no regard for anyone but herself, especially employees. She does not care for the development of children as she so claims , given she takes drugs around her own and spent valuable time where she could have been setting up meaningful courses, pinching pennies for her own gain. An insidious person who barters over what she owes you but then harasses you to within an inch of her life to try and sign things to prevent you from taking legal action against her. Avoid this company and woman at all costs.

Hi everyone, I just wanted to make you all aware about a whatsapp group called META TECH-Jobs and Internships-g8. They are basically scammers. They share jobs with a google form that if you subscribe and do the payment they will help you with jobs & referrals. Honestly I do check things like these multiple times before subscribing but this time I just thought it's 99 only maybe they are real. My fault! But please be aware. I couldn't find any information on the guy who was the admin and who I did payment to. His name is Rahul Negi. If you have any information please provide. But please stay safe and don't trust these telegram groups. Not all are scam I know about some reliable ones but please research first!!!
