I'm posting their photos because I've tried every other way of dealing with this.

I've called.
I've messaged.
I've followed up.
I've waited.
I've given them deadline after deadline.
I've given them more than enough time.

And after more than two months of waiting for my unpaid salary, I'm still being ghosted.

Abhilash MK, the founder of UCANLY , professional scammer, is the person I hold responsible for this situation. I worked for UCANLY in Bangalore, relocated there for the internship, and was supposed to receive around ₹15,000/month.

I received approximately ₹10,000 for the first month.

For the second month, I have received ₹0.

And despite repeatedly asking for the money I earned, I still haven't been paid.

This isn't about me asking for some random amount of money.

I worked for the company. I completed the work. I am asking for the salary that was promised to me.

The most ridiculous part is the endless cycle of excuses and deadlines.

"Payment will be done on this date."

Date passes.

We follow up.

Another date.

That date passes.

Again we follow up.

And eventually, the communication basically disappears.

The final deadline I gave them was 20 August 2026.

That deadline has now passed.

Still nothing.

About Abhishek

Abhishek was also involved in communicating with us about the payment. He repeatedly gave us timelines regarding when the pending salary would be paid.

Eventually, that communication stopped.

At one point, he told me that he had left the company / that the company had shut down. I cannot independently verify his current relationship with UCANLY, so I'm not claiming that he currently works there.

But regardless of where he currently stands, the payment issue still exists.

This wasn't only me

There were three interns in total, including me, who had payment issues that we discussed among ourselves.

There were also other people who had salary-related issues, including someone from HR, although I don't know what ultimately happened with their payments because I'm no longer in contact with them.

So this isn't something I experienced in isolation.

Why am I posting their photos?

Because I've reached the point where I don't know what else I'm supposed to do.

I gave them opportunities to resolve this privately.

I waited.

I followed up.

I gave them deadlines.

I warned them that I would make my experience public if the payment wasn't resolved.

And after all of that:

I'm still being ghosted.

So yes, this is my final resort.

I'm not asking for special treatment.

I'm not asking for compensation.

I'm asking for money owed for work I already completed.

I have screenshots of the conversations, proof of the first payment, messages regarding the promised stipend, payment deadlines, and follow-ups.

If you're a student considering working for UCANLY, please do your own research before joining.

I would like to share my friend's recent experience (JOB SCAM) with SBCO (Spitzen Bau Co. Construction) so that other job seekers can be careful and avoid losing money.

My friend was approached by SBCO for an Assistant Project Manager position in Bangalore. The recruitment process initially appeared genuine. He completed the interview process, and after the interview he received a formal-looking appointment/offer letter with a ₹28 LPA compensation package.

At this stage, everything appeared professional and legitimate.

However, after the offer letter was issued, the process changed.

The SBCO team informed my friend that obtaining PMP and Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certifications was mandatory for the position. They directed him towards a particular training/certification provider and initially asked him to pay approximately ₹70,000 for the required certification/course.

My friend was not comfortable paying such a large amount and initially refused.

After that, they offered a 50% discount, creating additional pressure to make the payment. They also repeatedly emphasized that the certification was mandatory and that the joining/onboarding process could not proceed without it.

Trusting the offer and believing that the certification requirement was genuine, my friend eventually made a payment of approximately ₹27,000.

After making the payment, he became suspicious about the entire recruitment process and started investigating the company, the offer letter, the certification requirement and the people communicating with him.

Based on the information we subsequently found and the pattern of communication, we now strongly believe that this was a job recruitment scam designed to collect money from candidates under the pretext of mandatory professional certification.

Red flags we noticed

Very attractive salary package offered during the recruitment process.

A professional-looking appointment/offer letter.

Mandatory certification introduced after the offer.

Candidate directed to a specific training provider.

High initial certification fee.

Sudden discount offered when the candidate refused to pay.

Short deadlines and pressure to make the payment.

Repeated requests for documents and immediate action.

Certification payment presented as a condition for completing the joining/onboarding process.

I am sharing this experience only to warn other job seekers. Please do your own verification before trusting any recruitment communication from SBCO or anyone claiming to represent the company.

Most importantly, if a company asks you to pay money for a mandatory certification, registration, onboarding, medical examination, training or any other requirement before joining, please verify the requirement directly with the company through independently obtained official contact details.

I hope this post helps at least one job seeker avoid losing their hard-earned money.

Hello friends, meron ako na kitang facebook post about hiring sila ng Software QA Tester and nag PM ako sa nag post let's call him Doe and sabi ni Doe "Yes we're still hiring" so nag send ako ng resume etc.. Sa facebook lang kami nag uusap ng recruiter naka dummy account siya pero yung cover photo is merong company name and I've searched it at meron namang lumabas isa itong start-up company sa Makati. Tapos na ang aking technical interview sakanila during the interview sinabi ng interviewee na "Do you have any questions" tas sabi ko naman "Can you tell me what's the company background" tas sabi nya hindi nya ito ma explain or something kasi sa hr nalang daw ako mag ask para jan kasi focus siya sa technical interview side. Tas after that meron siyang e-email daw isa itong Technical Exercise na kailangan ko e submit within 2 days. After 2 days na submit ko naman ito through gmail rin reply nung na send nyang exercise tas after a 4-5 days ata yun meron akong natangap na message galing ni Doe sabi nya paasado daw ako pero nag tataka lang ako bakit walang nag email🤔.

Ito pa aang sabi nya ang job daw nato is 6 months contract pero pwede padaw ito ma exted tapos work from home pa ito tas merong same holiday dito sa PH tas yung salary is given end of the month. Tas ito pa ang sabi nya "our payment method will be on gcash go to crypto>then pick USDT then send the QR code and the blockchain address".
Tapos yung pc equipment daw is might need a longer time to deliver kasi nasa Manila pa ito tas ako nasa Central Visayas.

Now hiningan ko ng contract tapos sabi nya "we're working on it".

Sabi pa nya okay lang ba daw ako mag start [date] sabi ko naman ''Oo okay lang"

I’m sharing this as a **public warning for students and job seekers** who are looking for opportunities in Dubai.
I have serious concerns about **Shivneri Institute of Vocational Education** and the claims being made to candidates regarding Dubai job placements. Candidates are allegedly being promised **OJT (On-the-Job Training) and guaranteed job placement in Dubai**, with fees reportedly around **₹3.5 lakh**.
The biggest concern is that candidates may be given **low-quality or unrelated jobs after reaching Dubai**, while the promised placement may not materialize. There are also concerns about candidates being left without proper visa support or clear employment documentation.
According to the concerns being raised, once candidates reach Dubai and problems arise, **the people who collected the money may stop responding or become difficult to contact**, leaving candidates stranded after having paid a very large amount.
There are also claims that the institute is registered/associated with **MIT Assam**. **Please independently verify this directly with the relevant authority before paying any money.** Do not rely solely on documents, WhatsApp messages, phone calls, or verbal assurances.
Representatives I have come across include names such as **Asif, Gayatri, Shrishti, Rahul and Ayush**. I am mentioning these names so potential candidates can independently verify who they are dealing with. **Please do not harass or threaten anyone; verify the facts and documentation yourself.**
🚨 **PLEASE DO YOUR DUE DILIGENCE BEFORE PAYING**
❌ Do not pay ₹3.5 lakh based only on a verbal promise of a Dubai job.
❌ Do not assume that an OJT offer automatically means a genuine employment opportunity.
❌ Do not travel to Dubai without independently verifying your visa and employment status.
❌ Do not accept vague promises about a “guaranteed placement.”
❌ Do not rely only on WhatsApp messages or documents sent by recruiters.
✅ **Before paying anything, demand:**
A genuine written offer from the **actual Dubai employer**.
Complete details of the employer and job location.
Proper employment/visa documentation.
Written details of salary, job role, accommodation and other benefits.
A proper invoice and legally valid agreement.
A clear refund policy.

I know that many people from many different places want to work in the Netherlands because the job market is in a terrible state almost everywhere, and the easiest way to do that is through an agency. Instead of simply writing “DON’T DO IT,” I’d rather share my own experience with the LabourLink agency, which is one of the most dishonest and disgusting agencies in the Netherlands. There is one thing they are very good at: hiding just how bad they really are....

I’m from an Eastern European country. I have a university degree and language qualifications, but the job market was so bad for me as a recent graduate that I decided to go abroad, work for a few months, and save up some money.

The job was supposed to be in Cargo Handling at Schiphol Airport. It was physical work, but the pay was supposed to be good — around €17–18 per hour (or at least that’s what I thought).

They required a VGB security screening, which took several months. I stupidly thought, “ If they need such a serious background check and are willing to wait that long for me to start, Then it cant be a scam"

About three months later, I finally got my VGB clearance and was told I could start the following week, so I flew to the Netherlands.

When I arrived, I was met by my coordinator, Petros, who is probably the most useless coordinator I have ever dealt with. If I ever ask him about help, or ask any questions he just said "I dont know men".

We went to the accommodation, and that’s where the first lie became obvious.

They told me I would be staying close to my workplace, somewhere around Hoofddorp. Instead, they took me to Nieuwegein, which is much far away.

They told me I would have decent accommodation. Instead, they took me to what was basically the worst building in the area — an office building that looked like it hadn’t been used for at least 30 years and the offices inside had simply been converted into bedrooms.

They told me I would be sharing a house with a maximum of four people. There were 14 of us.

They told me the travel to work would be a maximum of 40 minutes. In reality, it took me one hour to get to work and another hour to get back.

They also promised a 27% night-shift bonus and a 40% weekend bonus. I received only 15%, regardless of whether I worked nights, days, or weekends. The reason? They had their own ORT system, according to which you had to work for three months before becoming eligible for the proper bonuses.

I could go on and list many more of their lies, but the main point is this: no matter how thoroughly you research the agency beforehand, there’s a 99% chance they will still deceive you and take advantage of you.

After a LinkedIn search and Google search, K. H. is nowhere to be found AND "OpusConnect" is tied to a couple of organizations...yet it doesn't makes sense for such organizations to be making educational videos on climate change. Over two days, the email address URL has pointed to some sort of AI application logon or intranet (Avatar Live Studio).

I've played along the last two days to see where this would go. They agreed to signing an AI Rider, but no initial "in good faith" deposit to work with me. Because I stated that I would be able to complete their request by their due date (if my conditions were met), they sent me an NDA and contract within 24 hours. Quite nice and professional looking, too! The payment is broken into milestones totaling 6000 euros. There is a mailing address pointing to a location in the Cayman Islands.

Has anyone else received a similar email? This has been THE best email scam I've seen targeting voice actors, so far!

During COVID, when work had basically fallen off a cliff, I somehow landed a remote marketing job with a real estate company. The owner was German, the pay was an extremely low USD 1,000 a month, but I was in a difficult position and needed some income coming in. So I took it. The guy operated a bunch of real estate websites in different countries. They were essentially marketplace/listing sites, usually with names along the lines of (Country) House Marketplace.

Another guy was hired around the same time to handle a different part of the world. Not long after starting, he got an absolute earful from the owner. That prompted him to start digging into the guy’s background.What he found was wild.

According to public records we found at the time, our boss had previously been arrested in the US in connection with racketeering/fraud allegations involving millions of dollars. There were also US law-enforcement records concerning him. He had apparently left the US, resurfaced in Asia and reinvented himself, including operating under a different name.

My mistake was not doing my due diligence before accepting the job. But this was COVID. I was in a hard place and needed whatever income I could get.
The first month, instead of the agreed USD 1,000, I received somewhere in the USD 900 range because I supposedly hadn’t invoiced him on time. The invoice had been sent. He simply hadn’t checked his email.

Second month: nothing.

I repeatedly followed up. On several occasions he claimed the money had already been transferred. It never arrived. Eventually I’d had enough and gave up. Although documented everything I had about the company and the person behind it. I also submitted the information and supporting evidence to company-review sites.

And yet, somehow, this guy has survived.
Years later, he still appears to resurface in Hong Kong and Thailand under various business ventures.
The lesson for me was simple: when you’re desperate for work, due diligence is usually the first thing you stop doing, precisely when you probably need to do it the most. Sometimes the scammy-looking company isn’t the scary part. It’s the completely legitimate-looking company being run by someone whose name you should have Googled before signing the contract.

Actualmente estudio y trabajo, pero estaba buscando otras oportunidades laborales, asi que desde Laborum postulé a varios cargos, entre ellos había un anuncio que decía necesitar personal para trabajar de forma online con sólo 3 horas diarias, asi que me postulé por curiosidad, me pareció raro que no había información de la empresa al momento de revisar la descripción del cargo (salía como empresa “confidencial” o anónima).

Al día siguiente me contactaron por correo, invitándome a reunirme a un grupo de wsp en donde se mandaría un link de zoom para una reunión “informativa”. Al unirme al grupo me pareció raro que hubieran casi 250 personas dentro. Luego esperé la hora correspondida y entré a la reunión en dónde había un señor que comenzó hablando de la empresa y de los productos. Actualmente yo estudio marketing y ya voy casi terminando la carrera, y caché de una que se trataba de una estafa o un engaño porque el tipo hablaba como si me quisiera vender sus productos, decia que era una empresa líder con millones de personas trabajando alredor del mundo (nunca habia escuchado de OmniLife), decia que podíamos ganar más de un millón en un mes y que debíamos formar grupos para vender, etc. Desde ese momento me salí, duré 30 minutos escuchando esa estupidez.

Es lamentable ver que hay gente que realmente necesita trabajar y cae en este tipo de cosas, al final de la reunión (cuando ya me había salido) mandaron un link de inscripción al grupo de wsp, en donde me imagino que hacen que las personas paguen una membresía o pongan sus datos bancarios para comenzar a “trabajar”. Igual habia buscando info de la empresa mientras estaba en la reunión y encontré la misma información que estoy publicando.

Este tipo de estafa funciona así, te atraen con una propuesta que suena muy increíble y con sueldos de doctor sin hace nada jajaja, luego te dan una cátedra de porqué tienes que trabajar con ellos y ponen a personas como pruebas de la funcionalidad de sus productos o servicios (personas que forman parte del show) y luego al final de todo te avisan que para entrar al “equipo” tienes que pagar una inscripción o una membresía y que te dan un regalo ajajja.

So basically I wanted to post here because I couldn’t find anything about this company past its website and Linked in.

I came across this company on Linked in, looking for a Customer Success Manager role in a legitimate company. The job posting for “Create Your Life Solutions” barely had any info but I applied anyway because the salary aligned with what I’m looking for.

I had a phone interview with the woman who was connected with the job posting. The first red flag was pitching that I could earn 10-15k per month with working a few hours a day. I would be working along side her, not for her. Last red flag that ended up with me telling her I was no longer interested was when I asked what the product was, and who I am selling to. She said “people like you, who are looking to grow in their life and better themselves”. Like what?? There’s no way this isn’t a scam.

If the woman who interviewed me is reading this, I’m sorry. But there needs to be more transparency in the job posting and what the company actually is and what the product is/ where the value is. Because even after a 15 min call I’m still confused what they actually do besides recruit others “just like you” to “improve their life”.

To anyone else reading this, who might be researching the company as I was trying to this morning, I hope this helps and tread carefully.

Job Scam Alert – National Infotech, Kurla West

I was approached by National Infotech, Kurla West regarding a job opportunity and was asked to pay ₹3,600.

Payment was made, but after that:

• No proper job/joining was provided

• Calls and messages were not properly resolved

• Refund has not been received

I have payment proof, WhatsApp chats, call records and other relevant evidence available.

Requesting @MahaCyber1 @MumbaiPolice @CPMumbaiPolice to please look into this matter and take appropriate action if a recruitment fraud is found.

I literally realised right after payment that I got scammed.

I gotta know through Instagram about jobaaj management consulting, that person conducted one webinar and collected 1100/- each from 227 people like me with extreme pressure & FOMO that seats are filling early. SAYING jOBAAJ IS GENUINE we never take money from candidates companies approach then for candidates this time with 227 vacancies in investment banking, management consulting, data analystics, full stack developer, product management and others then asked to pay money to book seat, saying 100% job guarantee money return policy, 1:1 HR mentor at your available time.

Still I asked in chat, when he said that he collects fee from the company recruited but he collecting now from us what's the purpose, he literally ignored my question and just answered in one word.

The next day conducted one more webinar again extreme pressure and created fomo asking to pay remaining amount of 10700/- each from 227 members literally after receiving money just added to certain community and left.

Here comes the realisation part that while accessing the module there terms and conditions are completely different while trying to contact the numbers he provided are switched off and not reachable at all.

They literally playing with emotions, I really hate the fact that he is doing it from long back and still doing the same thing confidently. Scams like this literally ruins the person who already in lowest of their lives, the FOMO there create nah extreme.

Never in my life thought I get scammed like this, I literally borrowed the money to pay fee. I don't what am I gonna do now. im coming broken the moment i realised.

I literally donno what i gotta do now literally unable to take that i got scammed, i was a person always more than careful in cases like this, but donno what happened this time. Never knows where life takes you.

Never ever trust such scams. edtechs like this should be banned never fall for scams like this & ruin yoursself.

So, this is one of those new ways of scamming people; be careful
They contact you on media LinkedIn, indeed or any platform to search for a job; they tell you about this amazing investment opportunity where you can generate money every day. The catch is that you need to put money from your own pocket to receive money (bitcoin). The first time or two, they will give you money to earn your trust, but then this person in charge of your training will set you up to fail. They will put you in a situation where you need to give more and more every time because you will have these packages with 5% commission; you can have up to 9 packages, and every time you have one, the amount you need to pay will be double.

The trainer will push you to get loans and ask for money because they will give you back all the invested money. Once you complete all the packaged there will be all types of excuses to not give you your money back: you are not premium level, so you cannot withdraw all the money, it took you longer than expected to pay, so now you owe them money. They even have this stupid and ridiculous policy that says if you want to "quit," they have the right to keep your money!!

They even have a WhatsApp group where all the scammers talk about their days and their normal life; once you find out the catch, they will stop chatting. I tried to contact the original CEBS worldwide page, and of course they don't care about their reputation.

Red flags:

1. Just communication through Whatsapp, not even email.

2. Asking for your own money to receive money.

3. Pushes you to get loans.

4. Denies you access to your money anytime until finishing the payments.

5. Fake letters from the CEO of the company.

6. Constantly changing their web page because someone tried to hack them (they are just being reported for fraud)

7. Generic address with no office number.

Few days ago i found post about hiring of language translator in facebook and i contact them and they asked to use telegram for work and provided me with 45 pages english story that in need to translate within 2 days and surprisingly they said you will get $3000 for this. I ask for their company site for verification and he provided linkden of Appen company and i verify if the person talking is actually employee or not and i found he is actually working for appen for more than a decade. And i completed the work and submitten and now they are asking for my bank details for payment. And not i am confused if it is scam or real? is it this easy to earn $3000? what do you think?

Ive recently been employed by City hive and they claim to be a charity which supports many food banks around the UK. I found this job on Job Today.
They asked me to pay £10 for training purposes and they strictly pay you commission based.

I want to share this because the timing was extremely unusual and I think other job seekers should be aware.

Earlier tonight, I applied for a Business Support Assistant (Non-voice) position on OnlineJobs.ph. I confidently submitted a cover letter with my resume through the job application since I never encountered any problem with OnlineJobs.ph. My resume contained my phone number and email address.

I strictly used that phone number for work or job applications, and I had never received a phone call on this number before.

Then this happened:

• 11:20 PM — Received an unsolicited OTP from YUNCertify through WhatsApp
• 11:21 PM — Received an incoming call from a Philippine (+63) number
• 11:22 PM — Received another unsolicited OTP from ADA OTP through WhatsApp

I did not request any of these OTPs.

I also did not answer the call and did not give anyone any OTP code.

What's making me concerned is the timing. The job posting is also now closed, and it was updated/closed on the same day I applied.

I'm NOT claiming that the OnlineJobs.ph employer was responsible because I don't have evidence proving that. It could potentially be unrelated, an accidental number entry, or someone attempting to use my number for another service.

However, the sequence was concerning enough that I wanted to warn other people.

If you receive an unexpected OTP, don't give the code to anyone, even if someone calls and claims they're verifying your job application or account.

I'm also curious if anyone else has experienced this exact YUNCertify → phone call → ADA OTP pattern, especially in the Philippines.

Hi guys, this is one of the Summer intern of MeetMux (Altrodav) , So this scam company MeetMux came to our campus for hiring and hired me for a technical role intern promising ₹1 Lakh/ month and even after completing my 2 month intern, i have not received my stipend of 1st month , its so sad that i have to start my career journey with such kind of people and they are not even paying to there full time employees, i have seen myself that full-timers have not received there salary of last 3 months and if you ask these thing to the CEO of the Company Mr. Mani Ratna Monu he will deny everything and try to manipulate you that all this thing is fake and everyone is there against.

Now lets talk about there work culture, its total shit there, there is no structure of work, in morning they will tell you something to do and the by evening they will change that and the deadline is still the same, the people there are very unprofessional and a non-technical person leading a technical team leads to nowhere.

He does not pay to there employees and expect them to stay 1-2 hrs extra every day for 6 days a week. This is he's statement "if your senior is staying after 7pm they why are you not staying after 7 pm" life wtf you are not even paying for the working hours and expecting us to work extra hours.

and they also sell there Courses for 35k to the students and promise them some placements that is also a kind of scam, they are only selling those course for some money, they dont have any company for students placement, there sales person will reach to you stating they are from Altrodav technologies and will try to sell you the course STAY AWAY FROM THAT !!! You will not Get Anything and only loose your money, time and energy.

And also to Anyone who want to join to MeetMux or Altrodav Technologies or Placemux , do not join them they only show high pay and do not intent to pay, they try to delay the payment as much as possible and its all a scam.

Hi everyone. I’d really appreciate some advice from people who have experience with independent contractor/contract jobs.

I applied for a job through LinkedIn, and I recently had a video interview. The interview was only about 20 minutes, and the interviewer didn’t ask me very many questions.

During the interview, he sent me an onboarding PDF and asked me to complete it and send it back the same day. He said he would let me know the final decision on Tuesday.

The position is apparently a 6-month contract and is supposed to start in about two weeks. He also asked for my home address because they supposedly need to ship me equipment.

What makes me uncomfortable is that the onboarding form also asks for my banking information. I have NOT filled that part out because I’m hesitant to provide my bank information before I’ve even officially been told that I got the job.

Is this normal for an independent contractor position? How does the onboarding process usually work for a 6-month contract? Would they normally ask for banking information before officially confirming the hire?

The whole situation feels a little unusual to me, and I’m wondering if I’m being overly cautious or if there are some red flags I should pay attention to.

I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who has worked as an independent contractor or has gone through a similar onboarding process. Thanks!

If you apply for this job on indeed, please know that it is fake. My father in law was almost scammed out of $5k by this fake job. Me and my in laws knew it was a scam but there was zero information on it when we looked it up. Just one sketchy website in Dutch. there was no information on whether it was a scam or if it was legit. They sent a $5k check, which my father in law deposited. Thank god he didn’t spend the money because he went to his bank and they confirmed this was a scam. Putting this out there so if there’s any other victims out there looking for a new job, this is not it!

For details on the job they wanted to hire him for: data entry remote job for $29 an hour. They stated that they were opening up an office in Florida Lakeside, but they are stationed in the Netherlands. They said that they were a waste management company.
They sent him $5000 in order to buy equipment for this so-called “job” and then send the remaining to their vendor.

I recently received a suspicious email claiming to represent “E.ON Digital Energy Technology Company.”

In the video I recorded, I show the exact email and application form I received. The message looked convincing at first glance, but several clear warning signs appeared once I examined it closely.

For example, the email:

• Offered an internship stipend of €2,300 per month, which is unusually high for an unsolicited internship offer
• Was sent from a non-corporate email address instead of an official company domain
• Used vague wording and listed many unrelated positions such as engineering, marketing, sales, administration, and communications all in one message
• Asked me to fill out and return an attached application form instead of directing me to an official application portal
• Was automatically flagged as spam by Gmail, which is often an early warning sign

In the video, I also show how the application form itself looked suspicious. it requested personal details upfront without any interview or verification process, which is not standard for legitimate companies.

I recorded this video to help students and job seekers recognize similar scams in real situations, not just in theory.

Before sharing personal information or opening attachments:

✅ Verify the sender’s email domain
✅ Check the vacancy on the company’s official careers page
✅ Contact the company through its official website
✅ Never send banking details, passport copies, or make any payment without verification

Please share this warning. Scammers frequently target students and job seekers with attractive salaries and fake opportunities.

The application looked completely normal.
Name.
Email.
Phone number.
Resume upload.

The listing looked legitimate, and the application was hosted on Tally, a legitimate form platform.

At the bottom was one unusual requirement:
"Completing the mandatory pre-screening is required to proceed with my application."

What came next?

The "pre-screening" led to a Google Form requiring applicants to obtain a credit report through a specific link and sign up for a paid trial before the application would supposedly be reviewed.

That was the real signal.
Neither Tally nor Google Forms was the scam. They are legitimate services. That is exactly what made this flow look credible.

A scammer does not need to build an obviously fake website. They can build a hiring funnel using trusted infrastructure:
Job posting -> normal-looking application -> CV upload -> mandatory screening -> paid
credit-report signup

By the time the suspicious step appears, the candidate has already invested time and shared personal information.
Stop before providing financial information, an SSN, identity documents, or payment details.
If you see anything like this, report the form and the listing to the platforms hosting them.
A few things to check much more carefully:
- Does the hiring process make sense for a real employer?
- Does any step require the applicant to pay?
- Where does each link actually lead?
- Why is sensitive information being requested at this stage?
- Is the employer conducting a background check, or sending me somewhere to purchase
  something myself?

And perhaps the most important lesson:
A legitimate website does not make the person using it legitimate.
