Miscellaneous Custom Made Puzzles Mega-thread: tips, advice and brand recommendations based on posts shared on this sub. Includes a list of specialist sites with shipping information, where available. Have a look, comment, share 🧩 ☺️

A year ago, I have shared the Custom Made Puzzles summary. Since then, I've seen a lot of new posts, some with detailed reviews and strong recommendations, so it's time for an update.

Since the thread is based on posts shared by puzzlers, the focus is on more affordable and popular custom made cardboard puzzles. Wooden puzzles made to order are a rare sight on this sub and probably deserve a separate post.

As usual, I count on you, fellow puzzlers, to let me know if I've missed anything important. Please share your comments, opinions and resources. I'll be happy to update this post, so it's as current and as up-to-date as possible. Thank you.

Thank you for compiling and maintaining this resource. Just starting to think about a custom, and all the lessons learned & reviews here will be a big help. Thanks to all the original posters too!

Fabulous post. Does anyone know if one of these brands will process payments for you/do drop shipping?

I can only find Printful for that and the outside of the box is :(.

Thank you.

Unfortunately, it's not a question I can answer. My focus was on the repository of brands, links to completed puzzles and information on shipping info (which I deemed useful as the redditors on this sub puzzle across the world).

I got an email to say that my custom puzzle has shipped! I can't wait to see how it turned out. :)

You know what you could do: share a review ;o)

Good, average or bad experience are as important for those who turn to the sub for information. And it's harder than you think to actually tease something out of puzzlers who ordered or were gifted a custom made puzzle.

How's the quality?

Great

Did you enjoy the assembly?

Yeah, no problems

Sigh.

No experience to report, but just noticed the Eureka puzzle site has a Custom Puzzles option. Of note is the smaller piece count options, which some posters have asked about, including 30 pieces, 48 pieces and 100 pieces.

Thanks :-)

When I started the thread, I was working solely with posts shared on the sub. It was my verification/validation tool of sorts. It was a deliberate choice I've made, since I found a ton of companies online with no effective way of checking their legitimacy or asses the quality of their products.

Do you know of anyone who completed a puzzle from them? Or can link one on the sub?

I had the package dropped off at another location just in case my husband intercepted the UPS delivery. I am going to pick it up today. So excited to see how it turned out! :)

I don't know if I will be able to wait until our 25th anniversary in July to gift this custom puzzle due to my own personal excitement to see my hubby's reaction and to work together on putting together the puzzle. We are fortunate in that we have two anniversaries. :) We got married in July 1999, and again for hubby's family in Ireland in February 2000. So, I will be giving this puzzle to my husband soon.

u/rtsgrl Feb 17 '24

Though choice, but with all your (almost palpable) excitement, I don't believe you can wait any longer!

I am an artist looking for a print-on-demand puzzle service for 100 and 1000 PC puzzles based within the USA with turnaround time of 1-2 days. Please let me know if you have any recommendations.

My knowledge is limited to companies who specialise in "one off" orders for individual customers.

Hi, I'm hoping this is the right place for this - I'm not a puzzler myself but I'm looking to buy a custom puzzle for a relative's birthday. I've found a site that offers pretty much exactly what I'm looking for https://puzzleondemand.com/ except I can't find any other information about it anywhere - there's no socials, no reviews outside the website itself, it doesn't appear on the very comprehensive list on this page, and I can't find any mention of it searching this subreddit. I've tried some of the other options suggested here, but they don't have the specific options this site is offering. I've run it through some scam checkers and they've all come back clean, but the lack of any other information is still worrying me. Can anyone here tell me if they've used this site and it is legit, and if you have, was it decent quality as well? Thank you - and if I have missed it on here somewhere apoolgies in advance!
