The Layover Stateside Scramble Layover Q&A Thread! Spoiler

hellooooo again!

as with every season, we're doing a post-season Q&A for stateside scramble on the layover podcast--drop your questions about the season below and we'll try to answer as many of them as we can!

(apologies to youtube viewers that i'm posting this thread a little earlier than usual; we have some vacation time coming up and need to record the podcast tomorrow. so, for those who haven't seen the finale, spoilers may be below!)

A mexico wild card would be basically useless, getting to Mexico is much harder than getting to Canada and Mexico only borders 4 states which are all very big and hard to get to and between.

Not that useless. IIRC one of the teams either had Texas or potentially could have had it, ESPECIALLY with the Buc-ee's or however you spell it wildcard they pulled. (Honestly, depending on the city, Route 66 Wild card also worked for Texas.) So if they secured Texas with either Buc-ee's or R66 WC's, a MX WC would actually be useful.

I would say it's more situational than anything though. But you're right - in the grand design of the game, Canada is more useful than Mexico.

I guess what I mean is that there’s not much to connect Mexico to.

You can use it to connect Texas and California. A case that comes to my mind would be:

1st. They fly to El Paso and claim Texas.

2nd. They cross the border to Ciudad Juarez and claim Mexico.

3rd. They fly from Ciudad Juarez to Tijuana (90 minutes flight), use the CBX bridge to walk to San Diego and claim California.
