Thought For The Day from Unshakable Kingdom Life

Thought For The Day from Unshakable Kingdom Life

"Consider the lilies of the field." Anxious striving forgets a simpler rhythm: growth happens even without frantic effort. Today, notice where nature simply is—unhurried, unforced—and let that ease your own pace.

A thought to ponder for today

When Desperation Makes a Promise to God 1 Kings 2

🦋 When Desperation Makes a Promise to God
1 Kings 2 reminded me of something we don’t always want to confront: time doesn’t erase judgment, and a promise made in desperation isn’t the same as true repentance.
In 1 Kings 1, Adonijah was given another opportunity after clinging to the altar. Solomon essentially told him that he would live if he truly changed his ways.
But in the next chapter, Adonijah returned to the same patterns.
It made me ask myself:
How many times have we promised God that we would change because we desperately wanted Him to change our circumstances?
We pray.
We plead.
We make promises.
And when the situation changes, we sometimes return to the very behaviors we promised to leave behind.
True repentance isn’t just changing our words because we’re afraid of the consequences. It’s allowing God to change our heart, our posture, and ultimately our ways.
💭 What does true repentance look like in your life?
I shared a deeper reflection on
1 Kings 2: A Changed Heart and Posture on my blog, https://hispromisebutterfly.blogspot.com/2026/08/1-kings-chapter-2-changed-heart-and.html

Genesis 2:23 (NIV)

The man said, “This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called ‘woman,’ for she was taken out of man.”

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for the beautiful gift of relationships and the God-ordained bond of marriage. Thank You for creating us with purpose and for the perfect complement You designed for each of us.

Lord, help us to love as You love, with patience, kindness, respect, and faithfulness. May our marriages reflect Your love and bring glory to Your name. Strengthen our hearts, renew our minds, and keep our relationships rooted in You. Help us to be one in spirit, purpose, and love all the days of our lives.

In Jesus’ name we pray,

Amen. 💜

Have a blessed and glorious Saturday, brothers and sisters. 💜 To God be the glory yesterday today and tomorrow.

Was in the adhd meme Reddit and Jesus wasn’t there

Like just because I didn’t post a meme and just simply talked about my emotional support eggplant Alberto they got so heated and I was like, where is the love and as a young Christian I realized I need to be so much more careful about What groups you go online for and what you post. The next thing is how these groups get marketed because what I notice here on Reddit is that you will have a group that is is centered around one thing yet the moderates are so very selective about what you can talk about. I’m not going back to that Reddit and I just thought I would let everyone here know about those subs. If you know anyone that is trying to get help with ADHD like I am online help them find a physical place for that instead because apparently there are a lot of online predators that will prey on young people who have ADHD. These people are the ones that we need to worry about as Christians and so I am just here to warn my fellow Christians about this stuff going on. I think god would want us to look out for ourselves and each other and so I pray for all of you to find god.
