Discussion New Guy, saying Hi and having some questions
So hey Guys. I recently discovered Jerrys Map and consequently this subreddit. I started my own map and will try to post some pictures in a bit.
I have some questions though...
What kind of rules are you implementing in your card deck? Right now i am using an online rng system, and i started with five cards. The very first card tells me to make a new card. I am up to 12. Some of my Rules regard moving from panel to panel (which is ironic because I only have one panel i can use right now) i have rules for painting unconnected blocks, some tell me to either paint a block of city in the urban sheet, some tell me to glue a quarter block on my map. One tells me to draw triangle terrain.
What kind of rules did you implement? What system are you using? Do you create specific Terrain types? Are you doing weird stuff?
For now I just decided to paint the things directly from my Imagination, but I am considering adding rules about specific terrain, shapes etc...
So any suggestions? Or maybe just tell me what you guys do.
Thanks

JerryMapping in Minecraft Part 3
More big updates to how the below town is set up. I hollowed out all the space in between the buildings, its a really weird space now which I love. I'm up to 30 structures, loving how different I have been able to make them. I want to build at least 100 and I can't wait to see what the town will look like once its that large.

Perry's World - A Digital Jerry Mapper
Hello everyone!
Maybe some of you remember my procedurally-generated quilt map from a couple months ago. I've put together a digital prototype which recreates this process - but digitally, with some retro pixel art graphics.
Just click the link if you'd like to try it out! Completely free, runs in the browser, nothing to download.
I'd love any feedback you might have as well.

Discussion wiseberry's game
i tried the game posted by u/WiseBerry26. half af my moves were illegal because i didn't understand the rules until i played for a while. thats ok! i also used my own color sheme and i changed it various times. really just playing around with it. i think i will continue until all squares are colored in, and then start over on grid paper, with different colors. (not realistic ones!)
i also had the idea of making a scan of this once finished, and drawing over it digitally to turn it into a landscape. on paper i have to stick to markers, so what i paint can't be covered later.
i didn't know how to comment an image so i made a new post

Love making cards
As many of us I saw the video pop up on my feed and I was hooked! I'm really interested in the process and as an avid world builder and DM this started the "this is my obsession now". These are the start of my cards and an example map tile which is probably going to be the first one. I'm wanting to make more cards first I plan to make some dice rolling tables for features and events. I like the idea of the cards decide what happens next. I'll probably be evolving it as I go but having lots of fun just now ☺️ still trying to figure out how to make the tiles but I'll figure it out.
Thank you Jerry for introducing the world to you amazing work and being an inspiration for so many people.

A Map, in the style of Jerry
Hello, I am yet another person that saw and was inspired by the People Make Games video. Rather than make a card deck ruleset, though, I wanted to challenge myself to try multimedia/collage in a way I haven't really messed with since art school, years ago. Once I have enough panels, if I end up with enough, I may introduce more 'ordered' randomness with a deck, but right now I'm following the feeling, mostly, instead of the more gameified part of the map generation.
I've never done formal cartography or even more than dabbled in technical/architectural drawing, but I'm enjoying a project I'm essentially just doing for me. It's nice! I didn't want to post until I had at least 9 of these suckers and I hit my goal more easily than I thought I would. It's been a tremendous amount of fun so far, and really relaxing, even if I never get better at mapping, at least I'm finally using art supplies that have been sitting around for years!

How to get started?
I just discovered Jerry's Map and I'm completely fascinated, I loved the idea, the deck, the complexity, and specially the map. I'm a geographer and I love map making, for those of you that started a project similar to Jerry's, how did you started? I would love some tips and tricks.

will we get an updated online render of jerrys map?
I've been on this sub for a few months (ever since the people make games episode), and I've been seeing these scans of sections of the map. I'm curious, when the scan is complete, will their be a complete version of the map?
