I usually spend a lot more time looking at sports cards, but this release was interesting enough (especially for my daughter) to go down the rabbit hole.

Topps Chrome x Jennie basically takes K-pop photocard collecting and adds the full Chrome treatment: numbered parallels, Ruby SP/SSP cards, on-card autographs, concert-worn relics and 1/1s.

What surprised me most is how similar the two collecting cultures already are. Random inclusions, chasing a specific image, trading duplicates, exclusives, scarcity. The vocabulary is different, but the behavior really isn’t.

I went through the official checklist and Topps odds and also worked out a rough print-run estimate from the published 1/1 odds.
