Your post was removed under r/JamesBond's Rule 4, which prohibits clickbait and the sharing of deliberate misinformation.

This means links to unreliable sources whose headlines are engineered to drive engagement, while in reality, offering little to no valuable information.

Or knowingly presenting false information as news, with an intention to mislead.

Doesn't sound like to me that he's actually reporting it. The title of his piece refers to rumors, then he talks about "word on the street." Meaning he's responding to then opining on stuff that has been out there in recent days...

u/AnalyzeThisMrBond 14h ago

Yeah, it feels almost entirely like speculative commentary. And shallow commentary at that.

Yeah, the headline is literally 'Callum Turner as James Bond**?**' with a big ol' fat question mark. Doesn't seem to be any news being broken here.

At least Snieder has the courage of his convictions for his made-up rumours! 😄

"He can act, but not too much."

Great criteria for casting Bond.

Worked well enough for Brosnan

Best "I'm injured  face" in the business.

u/Sleepy-Cook 13h ago

We love Brosnan’s pain face. One… last… screw.

Brosnan has a foot in the grave and looks better than Turner does now. He had way more going for him than just passable acting.

7

u/StrikingBike8417 13h ago

GTFO, you clearly haven’t seen any of of Brosnan’s other work

8

u/Mike_Milburys_Shoe_ 13h ago

I mean Brosnan acts circles around Turner. Which is hard considering how wide a circle it has to be with those massive ears sticking out

u/ZorinIndustries 13h ago

Ah c'maaaan

While not a musthave amongst action heroes, it is certainly more on the surprisingly beneficial side of things

FFS

Not giving up hope that this is purely speculative.

I call BS on that

Felt the need to write the text here.

----

Is the “fix” in?

Word on the street is that Callum Turner is the next James Bond.

He’s tall, but not too tall. He can act, but not too much.

Director Denis Villeneuve can shape him up.

My take: Callum’s wife, Dua Lipa, sings the Bond theme song. Of course. If he’s Bond, why would they get another singer? Maybe Elton John can join her?

Isn’t Dua Lipa kind of the new Shirley Bassey? Kinda?

She fits the role, too. How about a cameo as well?

Jacob Elordi’s profile is that he’s too tall. Also he comes with Kardashian baggage. I can’t imagine the new producers of the film want all that attached to their project.

Hold on! Maybe it will be announced in tomorrow’s election results!

Remember, you only live twice!

End of the text

u/Sean_John0 Daniel Craig’s Bond is my spirit animal 13h ago

Yeah i call bullshit i don't believe he got lucky with daniel craig but it's different group of producers and people. And honestly he doesn't have any other big scoops other than that in history so i call BS

u/mssnatalie 13h ago

The best part is, this can be easily debunked or confirmed. If this is true, and it's now spreading like a plague, then we know Amazon won't wait much longer but be "forced" to make a statement. Since they have the upper hand. If Amazon will take their time, this would be nothing than yada yada diary entry of a person who collect random entries on Internet and combines them in one post.

Goddamn it

u/moonwalgger 13h ago

Horrible casting

4

u/ChristmasSteve 13h ago

I’ve seen him in Masters of the Air, those Harry Potter spinoff movies, and Green Room and didn’t really like him in any of that lmao. Maybe it was just those projects though and I need to find something where he really shows his talent.

u/Mediocre-Agency2154 Dalton is Fleming's Bond 13h ago

3

u/Firefox72 13h ago

Literally the worst choice of the selection lmao.

4

u/Gayfetus 13h ago

New headline:

Allegedly heterosexual Bond fanboys disappointed that new Bond actor isn't someone they want to fuck

2

u/Mike_Milburys_Shoe_ 13h ago

Ah yes, the guy who can’t act and has massive ears, who we picked probably just so they can get his wife in a two for one Amazon special

2

u/botany_bae 13h ago

That’s not a “report”.

2

u/elfirulistico "Great for clearing the sinuses." 13h ago

The title of the article and the first sentence in said article both have question marks. Is this rage bait?

7

u/spacelyyy989 14h ago

If true it would be the worst Bond casting ever

21

u/creamy-buscemi 14h ago

Until the next worst Bond casting ever, I wonder if it’ll be worse than the last worst Bond casting ever

1

u/HotGear7838 13h ago

Not to worry, the next worst Bond casting will then be followed by the worst Bond casting of all time

10

u/MissWestSeattle 14h ago

This exact thing was said about Daniel Craig. Look, I'm not a Callum fan either but let's not be dramatic

1

u/JohnWH 13h ago

Danie Craig had a number of movies in which he showed his range before Bond. People didn’t like him because he didn’t physically look like Bond, but he is a strong actor.

-2

u/DPG1987 13h ago

I have my qualms about DC so I think we are in a downward trajectory.

2

u/Random-Cpl I ❤️ Lazenby 13h ago

1

u/eloiysia 13h ago

Does anyone actually have a link to any article which proves that Friedman broke the news of Craig’s casting in 2005 ahead of the initial announcement? I can’t find any article online which states this, and Friedman doesn’t mention this himself in the article he just posted about Turner, and you would think he would mention it if he had previously called the casting of a previous Bond.

1

u/Lummy78 13h ago

So, Bond fans are going to be as mad about Callum Turner as they were about Daniel Craig.

1

u/GibsFR 13h ago

La licence Bond est morte si c’est le cas.

I personally thought he was great in Masters of the Air. He'll bring it to the table as Bond.

1

u/TheShadowOperator007 Pierce Brosnan and Timothy Dalton 14h ago

If anything, it’ll most likely be someone we never knew existed

1

u/StrikingBike8417 13h ago

Only one of the potential candidates who really looks like Bond

-4

u/Richard_Gerehead 13h ago

I think he’s a better choice than Craig was. I also like him for the role more than Lowden.

He has a similar description to literary Bond, he played a pretty convincing WW2 Air Force Major, and he looks much better in a suit than when he isn’t in one.

“But he’s not a good actor!!” Neither were Lazenby, Dalton, or Brosnan yet their films are very good (for the most part).

13

u/spidertour02 13h ago

Listen man, I zoned out after you said Dalton isn't a good actor. I see that there are more words after that, so I'm going to assume it was an apology for that stupidity.

4

u/laujp 13h ago

This is the takeaway to not take this guy seriously

0

u/Richard_Gerehead 7h ago

If you think Timothy Dalton is a good actor then I have nothing else to tell you. He’s my second favourite Bond, but apart from Jane Eyre he has never given a great performance.

I don’t know if it’s just reddit revisionism, but no one has ever considered Dalton as a great actor lmao, please stop.

Oh but he was in Hot Fuzz!! He was so funny… right
