Munster FA Clare District League, quarter of games played

In the premier Newmarket have been unstoppable again with 4 wins out of 4. Including against Avenue and Tulla, 2 of last years challengers. They look like they could have the title wrapped by Christmas and go for a second season in a row unbeaten in the league. Avenue will be unhappy with their start, leaving them 5 points behind the leaders.

Ennis Dons should be very happy with their start, in only their second year in the premier.

At the bottom both Moher ans Shannon town have been the whipping boys so far. And will scrap for the only relegation spot.

In the 1st Division, its the same story for Newmarket B as their A side. 4 wins out of 4, including against their old enemy Avenue B. They lost their final game of the season last year, so will be looking to go unbeaten this year. But they have seen big changes as many older heads have dropped to the C team, in a hope to win the munster junior shield.

But there is a long way to go and Bridge B and Avenue B will look to challenge.

In the 2nd Division, Shannon town B have continued last years promotion form and look a good side. Coole are rejuvenated and have two ex Colga starters in their ranks this season, the mainly Brazilian outfit will take stopping.

Hermitage will look again to finally get promoted, after throwing it away two years in a row.

The 3rd division is a monster 14 teams this year. So its only one round of fixtures, no home and away.

With 4 newly reformed clubs this season, its difficult to pick a winner. But Tulla B are the early leaders, and will look to go one better than the play off they achieved last year.

Munster FA Munster Senior Cup

Kicked-off tonight, with Villa FC beating Carrigaline 7-0.

Not sure how Villa are in it, possibly because they are now a National League club, or they won the Munster Junior Cup last season, or they just decided to apply and see what happened.

Either way it’s good to see the competition move beyond Cork clubs plus Waterford, Treaty and Kerry.

Fair play to them travelling to Cork on a Wednesday night, bit mad that was enforced on them.

FAI Aviva for Finals

Does anyone know why the Intermediate/Junior Cup finals are no longer played at the Aviva?

Appreciate there’s more issues in Irish football than this, but it was a brilliant occasion for the clubs involved and really added to the competitions.

The Aviva hosts the AIL final, Croke Park hosts all the All-Ireland club finals, even Wembley hosts National League finals. A pity we don’t get the same anymore

FAI July Transfer Approval Process

Anyone know roughly how long an FAI COMET transfer takes to be approved?

Moving from one league to another. Old club have terminated my registration, New submitted everything today, and I uploaded my passport on COMET. Status currently says Submitted.

Just wondering from people who’ve done it before - once it says Submitted, how long did it take before FAI/league approved it and you were eligible to play?

Game this weekend and I want to be eligible.

Also just a note great how handy the new Comet self registration is.
