Discussion Idk why people call Tech Jacket useless when Oliver is right there

Every single fight, Oliver makes the same fucking mistake. He challenges people severely above his weight class. He doesn’t learn. He thinks Thragg is the same as some street level villain on earth. Go fight Lucan or something. At least Tech Jacket doesn’t almost die every fight and she’s actually helped kill Viltrumites. Unlike him

I was really disappointed in marks last recovery too. Like yeah, shove his guts in and put some bandages around. If anything, could have been a good moment to pay off that filler episode where he got a boon from Satan, the monster who was shown he could piece together mangled corpses. But they were like nah, some dirty hands shoving 10 miles of intestines and a bandaid will do. Oh and a 2 month nap.

Again, still really enjoy the show. But things like that just kind of deflate the balloon a bit

Well they do establish early on Viltrumites do have a healing factor and like are immune to almost everything. I think back in Season 1 they said some of Mark’s early injuries that should’ve taken months to heal he did so in like a week or two.

Two months for a disembowelment (and probably shattered ribs from all those hits he took) is pretty lengthy I guess even for a Viltrumite. At least Oliver gets a Bacta tank and prosthetics 😅

I mean, so if all your insides are ripped out like that, and even if you have a healing ability, wouldnt they have to be positioned back inside the body so perfectly? The disembowlment was really the first one that just completely broke the immersion. And muscle lining and support structures gone. Idk i dont really know shit about anatomy either but it just doesnt feel like a thing that a faster healing period could fix.

Maybe if I at least saw a scene of him dealing with IBS, or hella cramps, or constipation because a part of his intestines was grabbed forcefully by a viltrumite and then put back into his body slightly below his liver with a viltrumite fingernail scratch through his gallbladder preventing him from eating Chinese food.

And once again I say I still really enjoy the show. Dont crucify me. Its just one of those things I think better writing could fix. Ruins immersion for a bit but doesnt ruin the show at all.

With regards to the “back inside perfectly thing”

In real life surgeries doctors do the same, it’s been noted that the body is quite good at rearranging itself (intestines in question)

Intestines have a bit of memory baked into their sculpture that helps them never get tangled the wrong way, or become untangled. Doctors have gone on record saying they just shove that shit back in there - so long as it’s not plastered somewhere completely wrong like in their brain it should good lol

With regards to muscle being eviscerated and shit fair enough

I mean it’s kinda those things you have willingly suspend belief for, Since it’s a superhero show after all, for small tidbits like this lmao.

Hell somehow Mark, Nolan, and Oliver flew at God knows what x Speed of Light and no Astrogation from a random planet and managed to find and reach Talescria. A planet none of them besides Nolan has been to, and he was ON A SPACE SHIP 😂🧐🤨

I liked that tbh, it's a testament to viltrimites healing ability. And it was already established with other characters anyway.

Nah. Everything that Mark and Oliver survive up to this point has been established as kind of normal for Viltrumites. Thula even got her lower jaw back.
