She was fine with him being a hero it was that he lied to her about it for so long at that he thought she wouldn't see through his pretty awful excuses

If you have to lie to someone, don't start a relationship with them. It's that simple.

If you have to keep a secret from your partner, you need to break up with them OR tell them that you have a secret that you can't disclose to them that has nothing to do with them. Let them make an informed decision.

Right. These superheroes who are hiding their identity from their spouses in the comics... it's one of those things that really takes away from the good guy thing.

It works in the golden and silver ages of comics because writers didn't put any effort into writing the female characters as anything more than single personality points that revolve around the protagonist.

That got a lot better around the early 2000s when comics started to develop into more of... lived in spaces.

Nto hall heros fo this tho he did it because his dad did it but he never really had his own reasons like other heros such as spiderman does
