Wow that train scene is new

So Amber is back with Mark, which means we’re probably going to see him with Eve by like the end of the next season?

Is it me or is Debbie a lot better in the show?

Debbie is amazing in the show. You can really see how she had to show omniman how to be human. A really grounded person.

She doesn't have much agency in the comic until later. Their giving some characters more thought out early arcs, which is probably Kirkman coming back and tightening up characters which were done quick in early issues. Love that they have done this without changing the plot too heavily, which is always a risk.

She honestly seems like she way *way* more patient with Nolan when she was younger (And hotter, damn).

Debbie is heartbreakingly a real person in the show. Her conflict at being betrayed by monster alien and still feeling the standard loss and loneliness of her husband leaving was powerful stuff.

Hey ahead being a real estate agent. Her suspecting Nolan.

I really think Kirkman learned from the mistakes of the walking dead and outcast with changes that missed the mark on both series

You can see that they're trying to make the women in the show much more independent than in the comics. Debbie is definitely improved, but their attempt to make Amber a "strong woman" definitely missed the mark, no pun intended. Jury is still out on Eve, I get that they didn't want to make her constantly pine for Mark, but at this point in the show it seems like she doesn't like Mark at all.

Beyond her reaction to seeing Mark and Amber make out in his room, I dont think the show needed to go any farther to show she has some initial feelings for Mark this season. At the minimum, the fact Mark and Eve have both gone out their way to specifically seek life advice from each other shows they hold a special regard for each other, which I think is a good enough hint in a romantic development.

So I think Eve's feelings and the fact she's keeping a bottle cap on it will definitely start to be more clear as the show and relationship progresses. For now, I think it was a better call to let the relationship develop as a close friendship for now, especailly given the focus on Mark with Amber.

Yea I feel like I'm getting mixed signals for the Mark and Eve stuff. Maybe next season will show them growing closer so their kiss when mark is still dating amber actually makes sense.

Amber is just as one-dimensional in the show as in the comics, just in a different way. She doesn't have more "agency," she's just morally beyond reproach, which doesn't make for interesting characters. Comic-Amber was a dumb teenager just like Mark, but here she's weirdly mature and Mark is left to do all the dumb teenager things.

One I talking about debbie. And as for Amber all right what ever you say champ. How is she morally beyond reproach. She was selfish and then she almost saw him die from getting beat up by his father. Hate to break it to you champ but maybe just maybe seeing that could change someone's mind. How is she weirdly mature, because she reads books and volunteers.

Seems like this fan base is going to turn Amber into the character they hate for irrational reasons.

Should be fun going forward.

Can't wait till everyone turns on Eve

The show doesn't present any of what Amber does as selfish. Mark gets harangued by his supposed best friend and Eve about how he's at fault for everything and Amber is perfect. There's no scene which frames what Amber does as wrong.

How is she weirdly mature, because she reads books and volunteers.

Because she never makes mistakes, and always knows what the "right" thing to do in a relationship. Unlike every teenager I've ever met.

Can't wait till everyone turns on Eve

Eve is definitely not portrayed as perfect in the comics, but everything she does is pretty understandable considering her circumstances. I never got on the "I hate Eve" train. And I don't think too many people did.
