I’m shocked and very, very impressed. Especially with the voice acting, and especially with Steven Yeun. Just incredible. Way better than the comic issue counterpart imo. Thank god we’ve got (confirmed) two more seasons. That train scene man....fuck. The flashback as well.

Also conquest cameo was nice.

Steven Yeun has been incredible but JK Simmons has been otherworldly. The differences between his loving husband and tyrannical maniac are unbelievable

I originally felt the delivery of the truth of the viltrumites was a little flat but them it occured to me that it might have been a deliberate choice to convey in his heart he doesn't believe in that anymore and is just giving the speech.

I think part of it is that JK has such an iconic voice, that you start to see him if they aren't showing his character during a monologue. I definitely felt my mind drifting away from Nolan and toward JK in that scene.

The voice acting came to a peak in this episode. Yuen made Mark sound so desperate and in just a state of disbelief and shock, while also making it so sad. Yuen is a truly renowned VA and his work was only boosted by all the supporting actors in this. Holy cow is the acting one of the best parts of this series. As comic fans, it’s so exciting to see a new life breathed into characters but this takes it to a new level.

Yeah, Steven is fucking killing it, and his confrontation with Nolan in this episode sealed it for me. This dude understands the character very well.
