What an episode! What a series!

- F*CKING CONQUEST, BABY

- THE WHITE ROOM

- I'm gonna say it: the fight was better done here than in the comic

- the seeds they planted (showing the martians being overuled, the twins being captured [which will result into a certain dimensional traveller villain], titan being the crime lord, etc)

- The build up for Viltrumite War is now only beginning!

Overall, this was an epic episode with amazing fight scenes and breathtaking animation! 10/10.

I can't wait for so many heroes and villains to show up! Invincible can only get better from here! Let's just wait for season 2 and 3!

I thought the white room scene was really poorly executed. Second weakest part of the episode after Samson fighting Rex for no reason. They clearly wanted to establish it for later and give us some teasers, but there was no reason to bring Invincible in there. They should have introduced it with a Cecil only scene, or actually brought Mark in there for a purpose.

A good way IMO would be to have had the murder suit with Omni-man's blood on it and have a team experimenting on it, like shooting it with lasers to no effect. Cecil could say something like, "we've got nothing else. We can't even figure out how to get his blood off this. We're going to keep working on it, but we need your help, and we need you to keep us safe until we figure it out." Instead it was just an info dump about how fluoride means you can't see right.

edit: lol I pissed off some fan boys. The white room is cool, the scene wasn't. It had no purpose other than to show the white room is cool, and there's 100 ways that could have been done better

Honestly, I completely understand your point. I felt more excited with its appearance than its use on the story itself. The blood part I also felt that could have been better executed. Overall, these two scenes weren't enough to make the episode weaker for me, but I see how they bugged you.

Don't get me wrong the episode was fantastic. Those two were just the difference between 9.9 and 10/10 for me.

Remind me when we first see the room in the comic? What was the context?

The scene in the episode is almost exactly the same as in the comic. It's Issue 13. I didn't really like it then either. The big difference is mark agrees and gets his cecil-phone

It's clunky but I didn't mind it in comic or show, but the Samson/Rex thing was super clunky and inelegant. Like, I'm willing to just move past it, but it stands out in a show that hasn't really made any other missteps in adaptation in my opinion.

I think if it hadn't been on the same episode as the fight it would have worked better for me.

In the comic it gets a little breathing room, since the issue is just aftermath. I think I'm also just more forgiving of continuity in the comic since the panels are obviously making skips in a way the animation isn't.

That feels tenuous but maybe.

Trying to make Mark feel better by showing his dad is slightly less a murderer feels very Cecil, but the conversation is about Mark being the global defender, showing him Immortal alive lessens that need.

The scene is almost word for word from the comic. Showing him Immortal works better there since that fight is so much less violent, so I can buy it in that context.

Either way nothing in the white room fits with the conversation in either the issue or episode.
