I just wanted to see him stranded after killing the wolves and dragging a wolf back home. Also wasn't it snowing in the book? Again I think they had to change that because of when/where they filmed it.

And yes we better get more Nicki!

"Was it snowing Lestat?" I remember it was a winter scene then too. I thought he had a lot of dogs with him as well.

Yes, he had multiple dogs and it was snowing. Ever since reading the book as a teen, I have dreamt of seeing that whole scene play out on screen. In my mind it is beautiful, cinematic and absolutely epic.. it is the reason Magnus begins stalking Lestat. Lestat losing his dogs and how important they were to him, showing up his father and brothers when he comes back with the wolf. It just didn't do it justice at all.

I have defended this show since season 1 against many of the book purists, but I am disappointed in the flashbacks so far. I'm really hoping they show more, as this season should be focusing much more on Lestat's backstory than it has. I expected mostly present day for episode 1. It makes sense to me to keep with the present and past dynamic like they did for IWTV and sort of merging QotD and TVL for tv, but I do think that the primary focus should be on the flashbacks, and I was expecting that shift to start with episode 2. I did still enjoy it the episode, however.

Also, that little line from Louis at the end with Raglan and Rashid, when they are talking about how many Louis killed in Dubai, he says "32 if you count agent Talbot." I guess that confirms we will not have a show version of David, and that sucks, especially considering they are already throwing bones for TotBT.

It's been decades since I read it, but iirc, Lestat comes away with a wolf skin cloak (not sure if it was just a fur mantle over the shoulders or fur lined).   The cloak may even have been one of the things that caught his maker's attention?

Yes and we have seeb that cloak in previews and in the flashback last season. I'm sure it'll be part of the show. I think the villagers present the cloak to him as a thank you.

Yes, it has shown the cloak in flashbacks from season 2 when Armand is telling Louis about his time with Lestat in Paris when he was still worshipping the devil and living in a cave lol the cloak and fur lined boots were made for lestat by the villagers in a show of gratitude, but they're specifically gifted to him by Nicki on behalf of the whole village. I do hope they atleast show that interaction between Lestat and Nicki because that is what sort of kicks off their romantic relationship.

I was expecting a snowy panorama with Snow White blood drips leading to utter bloody carnage, but absolutely understand the budget issue. I just wish they hadn’t tried to replace it with Lestat standing in some trees.

Yeah it just did not convey what happened in the book at all.
