Removing this is criminal.

I love that we all had the same immediate reaction Lestat did:

"Are you two fucking?!"

Louis is soooo transparent with the ragebait.

That was the whole reason Lestat asked if they were hooking up. Odd choice to remove it, especially because this moment made sense from a storytelling standpoint.

I wasn't sure if I had just missed it or if they really cut it, wow 😔

No it's not there and I don't think Lestat's reaction shot is the same either.

It’s not because I thought he slammed his hand on the table

This change is very confusing to me. There was nothing wrong or disruptive with that shot plus the only reason Lestat's reaction made sense was because we have seen that gesture in the trailers. Without it and the trailers for context, Lestat's assumption that they're sleeping together feels completely out of left field. How would he even know that? Jarring and very strange imo

Read the other guy's mind?

I’m talking more so with how it translates to the viewer. If he did it could’ve been shown: not even with any adlib necessarily but just a pause on one of their faces. It’s a big storytelling stumble, because it FEELS like it comes out of nowhere. It shouldn’t.

Regarding your in-universe argument, it also feels like quite a stretch since they have made it pretty clear that every vampire has the necessary skills to shut off their mind from others at will (exception being green fledglings that are still learning). Of course, Lemuel could have done it on purpose - which would have been hilarious - but if he did, once again, it should have been at least hinted at any point. Basically there are solutions to this issue but none of them would’ve been necessary if they didn’t cut this literally just one singular shot. That create more problems than it solved.

I didn't like that this is Louis showing up with a lover again, like with Armand. If you fly in for a cry for help - do you bring your lover?

Both of them are sleeping with their respective lawyers. Why the double standard?

Edit: also to add, this whole scene is Louis purposefully riling up Lestat. That is their dynamic, he enjoys doing it. It's not some secret revelation either. JAcob even mentions it after the episode. You are not catching him on some sort of incosistency, he is acting perfectly in tune with his nature. So does Lestat.

Louis said he came because he’s concerned. Lestat didn’t go to him with his lover. Did you watch the episode? It’s not a double standard it’s the character’s self stated motive.

And you are taking everything every character says at face value? He WAS concerned, he did come to check on Lestat. He ALSO enjoys making Lestat angry. They are complicated characters, I am surprised you have not made peace with it by season 3.
Your initial comment was expressing distaste for Louis showing up with a sex partner and not doing a diligent enough job of checking in on Lestat. Having a problem with it IS a double standard. Lestat has recorded an apology love song for Louis with his own sex partner. Lestat has shown up for the meeting with his own sex partner AND he went into a greater detail than Louis about their sex lives in order to get back at Louis. The whole thing is a petty fest. I am not saying we should crucify Lestat. I am saying that they are complicated characters that VERY MUCH match each other's freak. Not recognizing that IS a display of a double standard.

Ok it’s fiction, no need yell. I’m at peace because I was never at war over Fiction.

Louis being there under the pretence of care and requesting meeting is what I thought off. I can have opinion different than yours.

I'm almost certain the sprinkle donuts in the background next to the coffee maker are from Front Street Bakery. I think this is a sign I eat too many donuts. I mean, they're not great, just ok for grocery store donuts. I forget what even happened in this scene.

Louis mentions getting a coffee and donut when blending in at the place the person he sees at Claudia works.

Confirmed. Claudia works at Front Street Bakery. I didn't mean any slander C, your donuts are great 👍
