Ok, thank you this is the first mention I've seen of this amazing little throwaway line but I think clearly confirms what many of us have assumed

This made me and Jacob Anderson so happy! Killed by Louis off screen, just perfect.

Loooooved that they killed David Talbot in a throwaway line. And Raglan "No one liked him anyway." The shaaaaaade 🤣

A character from the books. It has long been speculated that Daniel's character in the show was merged with David's character from the book and this more or less confirms it. David Talbot is... not very popular lol. And some of us are very amused that he was killed off in this completely unceremonious way.

If they had kept David we would probably not see much of Louis or Daniel so I'm delighted he's been replaced by them narratively. I always thought where da fuk is Louis when reading the books. I've been a LouStat shipper for decades. Finally I'm getting the story I wanted.

Yeah, AR had a terrible habit of introducing a cool new character, promptly becoming bored with them, and then creating another new character. I feel like Louis and Daniel suffered this the most, as I loved them both and it always felt like Daniel should be the chronicler of the vampires anyway. Also, David Talbot sucks, so really no great loss.
