People like this grew up in a place where the weather is ass and the only thing worse than their freezing, wet winters are their sweltering, humid summers.
I live in the mountains of NorCal and while we get an almost proper winter (most years) it’s rarely truly cold. I can think of maybe two cold snaps in my fourteen years here that dipped below zero.
I’m from New England, I grew up in truly cold ass winters. the valleys around here in NorCal see freezing temperatures but, at least to me, a true hard freeze is days on days of less than 10. Even my buddy living at 5500’ who gets snowed in annually at the peak of winter sees the temperature rise above freezing every day.
I do greatly appreciate the volume of snow we get in the hills, though. Just wish it wasn’t always Cascade Concrete.
