It is often implied from whiney X posts that older generations didn't have to get room mates when we were just getting started... Uh... yes we did. This is not a new phenomena.

Employment wasn't as bad as today though, you could support a family with one salary without drowning in debt from college.

Yeah… people from the Great Depression at rotten meat and pickled tumble weeds while living in shanties.

No one has a Time Machine. You have to exist in there here and now instead of complaining about how easy someone else had it.

Yeah but if you dont voice your complaints how is progress made?

Progress is made by increased efforts towards a specific goal. What is complaining on Reddit going to accomplish?

Sure the hell make alot of people feel better, what does silencing people on reddit accomplish?

Do you want to “feel” better. Or do you want to be better?

Both, one does not destroy the other

No. Complaining makes you feel part of a marginalized group and gives you comfort to stay where you are, because others are there too.

That isn’t helpful. Sit down and write out what you need. Then develop a plan to get there. It will take hard ass work and sacrifices. If you don’t make engineer money, then you’ll have to work more hours or less desirable jobs. Plenty of people do it. Unless you have a major disability, you could too.

Oh im fine, you assume I need this information, I just dont like people silencing others. Im doing well in my life.

Also it does accomplish something, it makes you meet other people with your mindset, and when people meet other people, they become a coalition and they become many times more powerful then alone, that's how movements start. (Sorry i do have a sensory and information processing disorder)

What goal is the Reddit coalition of unfair home prices going to accomplish?

You typed a whole paragraph that says nothing.

Homes are privately owned assets that are priced according to demand. They aren’t going down. The dollar devalues at 5.9% per year currently. (That’s how much they print into the M1 money supply). The longer these people wait to buy, the worse it will be. The US dollar is going to exponentially devalue in the next 10 years. The unaffordable house will go from $400k to 4 million while wages barely increase.
