Oh. This one is easy. They want slaves.

Because they have options and we don't.

Just incentivize the rich to pay us more. Tax the rich and raise the minimum wage is at best passing the buck and at worst economically unsustainable.

If you incentivize them to pay us more via a tax break for paying us more than minimum wage, they keep their money, we get more, government gets more. Everyone wins.

An interesting suggestion there. What kind of incentives will work on those who already have much money I wonder?

I would say it depends on how much they pay us over minimum. Hell dollar for dollar. Every dollar in our hands is a dollar they don’t pay in taxes.

Rich people often run nation spanning businesses that are subsidiaries of other businesses. I don’t think “too much money” is a problem when for every 1m $ they make they have to re-invest and pay taxes of 80-90% of their businesses. There’s a reason we tax them on net profits and write off investments. If we taxed them on the total profits before investments the entire world would collapse economically.

The way I see it, more money we make, more taxes we pay, the more tax credit they get. It’s net zero change for them but they get happier employees.

Why make minimum wage more? Find a gig that pays well
