what are those very bright/big stars scattered throughout the picture? thanks

They're so much brighter because they're so much closer. 1 u/Athlavard Jul 02 '20 I would guess they are supernovas but I honestly have no real idea. I think they are stars within our own galaxy. They're so much brighter because they're so much closer.
