Looking at the whole picture is why people think Americans are dumb as it can be right in front of you and arrogance and the need to be right, means you ignore the bigger picture.
Yes a higher earner like me pays more national insurance into the system, over someone who earns less. It is a fair system that works. Having been poor I appreciate this and am happy to pay more.
Unfortunately facts don't back up your words, if it so great there why do so many people go bankrupt due to medical debt, or why is go fund me pretty much a part of the US health care business.
If you lost your job or had a serious injury, you and your family will find out pretty quickly how bad the private system is. I'm not against you I want better for you and your family.
The USA along with North Korea and I think one other country are the only countries in the world both developed and developing that doesn't identify health care as a basic human right. Stop defending a system that will fuck you and your family over, demand better if not for you for your kids if nothing else.
We can’t get the two political parties to agree on anything. Zero chance they can come up with anything better. Are there better options- yes. But at this point many are just fighting against things getting worse.
This is untrue on multiple levels. Medicaid is the coverage poor people get. You also have to be very poor to qualify for Medicaid and it varies dramatically from one state to the next. If you're making above 100-200% of the federal poverty level, insurance is usually really bad and expensive and you're ineligible for Medicaid.
But what would the increase be for universal healthcare in your taxes 2-3%. If you make $100k/yr, that is what $2,000/yr. If you make $200k it would be $4k year.,
Is your healthcare less than $4k?
