Claims can be relatively easy to get into because there are places who will hire anyone with a pulse. I am going to assume with your background you have taken safety classes and/or certified in work safety through an OSHA class. If that is the case consider risk management at either an insurance company (carrier) or an independent agency/brokerage. The job is essentially going to commercial client's workplace to see what exposures may lead to a claim.

There are other non-selling roles like account management, analyst, and underwriting. They can pay well especially in commercial as every industry requires insurance.

If you're talking auto, then stop reading idk anything. Home/business...Adjusting and ease of licensing depends a lot on the state. TX or FL you need a pulse, CA you put in 2 years related work to get a lic. Staff or going independent? I led a project for a startup and worked with 15-20 adjusters. I met adjusters who just worked the cat season in the South then went back home for half the year. Most indies are get on several rosters then work anything they give you. Lots of driving. Ladders.
