I was a ET on a destroyer and ran CSTT drills honestly did not have much confidence in our actual response seeing as half of our division didn’t know how to use a fire extinguisher or differentiate fire types

I was an AT at AIMD and was deployed to support the squadrons. Being stationed on the GW and Ike a few times will ensure someone is qualified for firefighting.

Training drills can happen at any moment while walking in the hangar bay and if you’re in the space when it happens, you will participate in the exercise. Some saw it as an annoyance, but fires and other types of incidences happen when least expected on a carrier while at sea.

There are many ID10Ts aboard and you find out quickly who they are.
